Chapter-4 New Ability

The lion jumped out of the bushes and pounced on Alex, who rolled towards the side, just in time. Alex covered his fist with Darkness and punched the lion on its back. The lion fell, and now Alex had the chance to kill it. He opened his first and thrust his hand into the lion's body. The lion died instantly.

Alex felt that his battle prowess had increased a bit, so he decided to go to the centre of the forest, where there was a whole pack of lions, with more than 15 adults and dozens of cubs.

Alex had never dared to go there before, but he now did.

'Killing lions is pleasing' he thought, licking off the blood from his hands.

As Alex casually walked into lion territory, he was soon confronted by a couple of lions, who growled and alerted the others. In a matter of minutes, he was surrounded by lions.

Alex covered his body in Darkness energy and tanked a couple of huts from the lions. They were able to hit him, but were burning with the poisonous Darkness energy. As these lions were hurt, and the others temporarily not attacking him because of that, Alex strategically stabbed two lions with his hands.

After killing them in front of the pack, the lions seemed to have gotten even madder, and so did the cubs. Half a dozen cubs rushed towards Alex, who smirked.

"Lion cubs, eh. EZ KILLS!" he shouted, squashing a cub a cub's neck completely and then going on a rampage killing all the others. He stomped one into the ground, punched one and let it rot away, and just stabbed the others.

As Alex was enjoying the smell of the lion cubs' blood, he forgot that this would make the adult lions even angrier. One of the lions, who seemed like their pack leader angrily roared, to which the others also replied by roaring and all 15 of them pounced at Alex.

Alex now realized that he was in trouble, and tried to run around trying to confuse them and to get them to split up. He ran zig-zag across the forest for a while, and was able to get the lions to split up, but was now out of stamina to run. He decided to fight the two lions after him.

One of them pounced on Alex, throwing him on the ground, but Alex used that to his advantage, as the lion fell on top of him, so he just covered himself in Darkness armor, killing th lion instantly.

The lion's had strength, but they were mere animals, and Alex was defeating them with tactics. The other lion also did the same, and suffered the same fate as his brethren.

Alex decided to cover himself in teh lions' blood, and hide somewhere. If he did that, the lion's couldn't smell him, giving him a slight advantage compared to his current situation.

Alex wasn't quite intrigued with fighting these ordinary lions, but the leader of the pack impressed him. He was almost twice as large as the normal lions and had a ferocious aura surrounding him. The thought if killing something like that was what was fuelling Alex to fight all the lion's at once.

One by one, he kept on killing the weak, average lions, and soon only two were left. One of them was the leader of the pack and the other was probably also strong compared to the rest igsf the lions.

Alex was now a bit worn down. The lions didn't put up an extraordinary fight against him, but after fighting a dozen of them, he was tired as hell.

He decided to stop and take a break for a while. If he didn't have the required strength when fighting the stonrgest lion, it could be fatal for him.

Alex was recovering his stamina in hiding, and suddenly, he started to hear growling sounds. He was alerted. Alex had no more time to rest because the lions were here.

He got out of his hiding spot, ans as soon as he was out, the leader roared and ambushed him. He pounced on his with full force, thrusting Alex to the ground. If it wasn't for his armor, he would have been dead. The pack leader's size, weight and strength was way more than the other lions, and Alex was having a hard time facing off against him.

Even though it was hard, he was still able to survive, but the impending doom was not this lion, it was the other one, who walked towards him slowly, who would finish him off while the leader held him down.

As the lion slowly walked forward, one step at a time, Alex felt that it was it. He felt that he was going to die here. A shiver ran down his spine, as good and bad, all moments alike of his life flashed past his eyes. He remembered his family, who had given up on him due to the Church, and also his friends, who believed what the Church had told them.

The lion was a few feet away from him now, and he was trying his best to throw the larger lion off, but was still unable to achieve any results.

As moments from his life passed by his eyes, he remembered that day, when the 8 year old him saw the Priest for the first time. Alex's bosy started to heat up, and his mind started swelling up with rage. The purple-blue color of the Darkness energy turned red and a shard shot out towards the lion stepping towards him.

The shard went right through the lion's head and it bled to death right there.

"i have to kill the Priest. How can I die by your hands, you filthy animals?" said Alex, monotonously, as another shard flew into the leader of the pack of lions, who died as well, his blood spilling all over Alex.

Alex now had a ranged ability, and walked away from the forest, nit bothering even to wipe the lion's blood off from his clothes.
