The Other Side Of Whither

Tsukiyomi woke up before the man, it was the early moments of dawn. He didn't have much strength but he managed to get his clothes, which had been sewn where holes and rips had been, and put them on. He had a limp but was fine. He spotted a small piece of a rope and tied up his hair with it. It was much better out of the way. He left the hut with a grumble in his stomach. He didn't have much money to spend since he bought the dagger yesterday. He swore he left his money pouch in his pocket unless he left it somewhere or the yokai from last night took it.

The currency was strange in the walls. Rose coins had the most value, Veldonian pieces were easy to count, and paper currency wasn't used much nor was it a lot.

It was hard for Tsukiyomi to think about last night. He hoped he would forget. Like he forgot all the time. He had forgotten so much.

He returned to the market which was not as crowded as the day before. He snuck a small flask of wine from a stall and ran off with it before anyone could see. Tsukiyomi walked down a road, he tossed an apple he picked from a tree up and down in his right hand, the flask of wine in his other hand. He felt someone behind him run into him, a child at most. He turned and started to lecture, "Hey, watch where you're going, kid..Shikashi?" and it was in fact Griffon Shikashi. But he held the hand of another child. A girl, a yokai girl. She wore a dress and had horns but she was blindfolded. "Sorry Tsukiyomi-san!" Shikashi said, him and the girl panting.

"Why are you running?" asked Tsukiyomi.

He hunters..they came and burnt our home, home to others too. So we ran." Shikashi began to speak, but was quickly interrupted by the girl. Although, she spoke differently. Almost in riddles, "We mustn't go back. Our home is forever gone. We shall not go back! Danger is soon to come and it approaches out from the darkness. Thy Bloodmoon Rose can't help the walls. Only the darkness! We must keep going!"

"Calm down, Teacup! We're going to be fine! Right, Tsukiyomi-san? Shikashi asked,

Tsukiyomi was silent for a minute but quickly responded. "Y-Yeah..actually, down in morphine there's a village you two can go to. There, people will help you. But hurry before sunset." The two thanked Tsukiyomi and ran off. Teacup had looked a little older than Shikashi. But hearing that the children's home had been destroyed ticked Tsukiyomi off a bit. He had thought about what that Tadashi guy said too. It was something like, 'To trust someone you gotta search their hearts', something along those lines.

Tsukiyomi gripped his dagger tightly in his pocket, the unfinished sake flask in his other hand. He had already eaten the apple. He noticed the rope in his hair wasn't holding up well. He would have to find a better one. He was on his way to the other side of Whither. So he hopped on an airship that would take him to the other side. Left Whither.

Wall Whither was the biggest wall in Moonrose. But because of controversy and conflict, the wall was split into two. War went on on both sides long ago and the left side of Whither was damaged and stayed mostly abandoned. And since Whither was the biggest it had the biggest cities. Wall Moonrose alone covered a large part of the world and was split into three regions, three races. The English, the Chinese, and the Japanese. The humans, the demons, and the yokai. Of course there were other species and races, languages, but there were barely exotic beings anymore. No one knows what's outside the walls since it's been almost three-thousand years since the 'Protector' of the walls, which some people think is a flower, had banished. Although, no one really knows if the Bloodmoon Rose is real. Divinians are the ones who believe in that stuff.

Tsukiyomi had old friends on that side where a burnt down city was. Friends he hadn't seen in a while. He left them only to protect them since he was being tracked down by the hunter corps. It was a time of blood for Tsukiyomi and his gang. He was sure that they never left. His best friend, Spoon should be awaiting his soon arrival. He was sure of it.

Time passed as the airship Tsukiyomi landed into Left Whither. He had a long way to walk to get to the burnt city but he would eventually reach it. Tsukiyomi was surprised that he remembered which ways to go. His view was full of rubble and trash, burnt wood and falling rocks. It was gross, it was reality.

He thought about searching for something else to hold his hair in place since the rope he used was crappy. He noticed more humans on this side of Whither than the other. Although, things changed quickly in this world. It had seemed the city had gotten bigger too, the non-damaged one of course.

After more rubble and more walking, Tsukiyomi recognized the entrance that he was looking for so he decided to make a surprise entry.
