Blood, Wolves, and Death

A winter cold and dark, death of loved ones, the killers: Werewolves and Vampires. Ford, a regular boy must suffer through a crushing reality. His parents murdered by the monsters that they once hunted. Why did they hunt such beasts? Why were they at odds? Who was at fault? This story will reveal questions, that can only keep you guessing. Answers delivered anywhere from beginning to end, only to introduce new questions to keep the imagination going. And a variety of gruelling, unrelenting and action packed adventures to keep you satisfied. Ford isn’t familiar with the affairs of his family. Only to discover them with every day that passes. Werewolves, vampires and other creatures of the night are all new experiences that he must learn to fight in order to survive. However, every coin has 2 sides. Where he will stand by the end of the story, will depend on whether you keep reading. Companions and friendship forged, only to have them taken away at a moments notice. Make sure not to get too attached. I am not forgiving in the slightest. Learn what creatures I will include and whether or not other fantasy elements will be added in this story. Just as Ford learns new things, so will you. I’d like to thank you if you do choose to read this story and forgive me for the odd grammatical mistake or weird choice. If I can make such mistakes in the decisions, so can the characters. However that doesn’t mean I won’t try my hardest to keep things consistent.

Another Encounter with a High Class

!!

I turned around as fast as I could, pulling out my handgun. Sadly, the voice that I heard to be much much further away was already in front of me.

Noticing the gun in my hand, it pulled my arm, had I been any weaker, I'm sure my arm would have been ripped straight off.

The werewolf threw me far behind itself as all I could do was watch.

My body flailed in the air as I tried to turn myself in a way to minimise damage. Though, without enough time to do so, I had been plunged straight into one of the trees.

The flames scorched the back of my neck that was exposed, luckily, the rest of my clothing prevented the flames from being in direct contact with the rest of my skin.

With the final strength I had left. I pushed myself away from the tree, hoping to get far enough from the flames so as to not get hurt any further.

While this time I hadn't lost consciousness, it was horrifying to watch the damage the high class was doing.

All I could do was pray that I would recover enough in time, to help.

The man clad in armour pushed Sam and the girl to the side.

The high class swung its claw down, issuing him the need to block. A tremendous amount of force fell down on him, as if he suffered the weight of the world itself.

Its second claw came from the left.

"Jeremiah!!", the woman screamed the man's name. The worry clear in her voice.

He swiftly ducked before kicking the ground and pushing himself away.

"I will not fall to such a brute, princess".

"Princess?", Sam looked down to the woman, who's shoulders he had his hands wrapped around the entire time.

"I'm sorry", he let go quickly, but she didn't seem to notice, her attention solely directed towards the man and the beast.

"What was your name? Sam? Take the princess and leave!".

"I won't let that happen", the high class ran towards them, planting its foot down firmly, to boost itself towards them.

"Where the fuck do you think you're going", I muttered under my breath. My gun already out, waiting for me to pull the trigger. This was my one shot.

It had already taken all my strength to pull myself away from the tree, to also shoot my gun with enough accuracy to hit that monster, was another challenge in and of itself.

If I didn't make this shot, it was all over for Sam and I.

*Bang*

Somehow as if I had experienced a miracle, my shot was spot on, travelling through the wind towards the beast.

Surprisingly the werewolf managed to dodge my bullet, it certainly wasn't expecting me to shoot and yet it's instincts were strong enough to help it sense the impending danger as well as evade it.

While I had sadly done no damage. The mere action of stalling the beast was enough.

Jeremiah ran towards the beast, slashing his sword.

"Annoying!", the werewolf growled as he blocked the attack.

This time, the werewolf took a different approach, grabbing the man's sword by the blade.

Luckily, Jeremiah had a dagger to his side. He pulled it from its sheath, pulling it up to slash the beast's arm.

It would have been a deep cut were it any other werewolf… sadly for a high class, with its extremely tough defence, it was nothing more than a shallow flesh wound. The beast didn't even flinch.

"Monster".

"I've got you", the werewolf smiled.

It took Jeremiah by the head, face-planting him in the ground. It dragged his body as it ran. Jeremiah tried to resist, kicking and flailing his legs to no avail. His face left a shallow yet long trench of dirt behind.

A truly terrifying scene.

He scratched and bashed at the beast's arm, trying to pull it away, almost as if he were begging it to stop.

Finally, lifting him up, his face now bloody and deformed. Jeremiah, thanked the gods that the overwhelming pain had ended. Though it was no time to thank god.

The high class threw him to the ground, once again, this time face up. It grabbed Jeremiah by what was left of his face. Pulling his head up, before bashing it into the ground once again.

It did this again, and again, and again, and again. Soon, Jeremiah no longer resisted.

The beast's breath grew heavier and heavier, clearly enjoying the fight.

Even after Jeremiah's death, the beast continued bashing his head into the ground until finally, it cracked. A large pool of blood and brain matter now covered the forest floor.

"Jeremiah!!!! Jeremiah!!!! Noooooo", the princess cried out his name over and over again.

Sam however continued to hold onto her, gazing pitifully at the corpse beneath the beast.

I watched as the entire scene played out. This was a high class, an overwhelming power, an enemy neither he nor I had any chance of defeating.

Sam pulled the princess as she fought to run to Jeremiah. Though, the moment they let their grief consume them, was the moment where there death was etched in stone.

The werewolf had now turned to the both of them.

"Princess, get a hold of yourself!", Sam shouted.

They had been moving toward me the entire fight and so they were quite close.

The beast however was fast, just as we had seen before.

In but a moment it stood in front of the two, only a few steps away.

Sam stood in front of the princess, blocking him from her.

"Move", the beast commanded in a low tone.

"I will not-", A slash came down. In the next moment, Sam was laid on the ground crying in pain.

"GRAaaaaagh!", Sam tossed and turned, his hand covering the right side of his face.

With the only mental clarity he had left, he ran towards me.

Pulling me up by the arm, he ran while supporting me. I used the strength I had regained to run with him.

The blood from his lost eye, staining the floor with drops of blood as we ran.

We did not say a word till we escaped the forest. Only a woman's deathly scream breaking the silence, still only for a moment.

Ever since that day, Ford had lost his motivation.

How much longer would it be before he was strong enough to challenge something like that.

Would he continue to see the people around him die, being able to do nothing but watch.

Scott was right. It would be better to just give up.

Mother would also be happy, knowing he wouldn't follow through with such petty revenge.

"I couldn't save them Sam", a tear fell down my eye. I was still such a cry baby. "I can't do this anymore".

Sam kept quiet, gritting his teeth.

"I've killed the princess, notify the general that Asteria has fallen".

"Understood, shall I send someone to kill of those two?"

"No, they'll be dead sooner or later anyways. They're not worth our time".

"Then I shall notify him of our success".

The fires near the kingdom of Asteria began to die down as the sun set beyond the horizon.

Another kingdom had fallen to the werewolves. How many more were going to die. How much longer would the werewolves be left to reek havoc on the humans.

Only time could tell…
