Episode 31

Esther left my house in tears. I tried to stop her, I really did but she just smiled slightly at me and told me she was fine, even though I could see the tears falling from her eyes.

"I will see you in school," she said softly and left. All I could do was watch her go.

I walked into the living room almost in tears. I sat down on the chair, with my hands on my head as I laid back in the chair. I had just hurt the person who cared so much about me and it was making me feel worse about myself. Genevieve came downstairs and found me in the living room. She was smiling but when she saw my face, she knew there was definitely something wrong.

"Dan, what's wrong? Why the long face? Did something happen between you and Esther?" She asked all these questions at once.

"I hurt her, Genny. I hurt her," I said while tears filled my eyes.

"What are you talking about? What happened?" Genevieve asked again.

I sat up and slumped my shoulders forward as I supported my hands on my laps.
