Look after her
Watching her silently sleeping, Lee Shira lightly kissed her again and carefully laid Aryen on the bed, making sure she wouldn't wake up while he gets out of bed and had a shower.
Right after he had dressed up, there was a sudden knock on the cabin door. Lee Shira looked back at Aryen who was still asleep before he silently went out of the bedroom.
What Lee Shira did not expect after opening the door was to see Mei Joan standing in front of him with a pale face. She looked nervous and worried.
Before Lee Shira can ask, his gaze fall at the little girl on her arms which has a swollen eye; obviously due to continuous crying.
But Lee Shira was dumbfounded to see Arwen looking at him with a teary eye while her arms are already opened towards him, asking to take her.
"Daddy.." Arwen uttered with her baby voice, but it sounded anguished like she just stopped crying. She was still sobbing while waiting for Lee Shira to take her.
Lee Shira: "..."
Mei Joan unconsciously fell in daze after seeing Lee Shira not wearing his eye glasses. Revealing his handsome face that looked more incomparable without it.
When she returned to her senses, Mei Joan's heart began pumping fast while observing Lee Shira staring at the little girl whose asking to take her on his arms. But she can't guess what's running in his mind.
Accompanied by his inexpressive eyes while not wearing his eyes glasses, Lee Shira's expressionless face doesn't give Mei Joan any clues of what he could possibly be thinking about.
"I'm sorry Mr Lee. My granddaughter might have missed her father after seeing you." Mei Joan uttered apologetically. "But that's not the only reason why I'm here.."
Watching Lee Shira who glanced at the baby bag hanging on Mei Joan's arms, he did not took the little girl. Instead, he looked back at her without saying any word.
With Lee Shira's silence, Mei Joan is having second thoughts to speak. It took a couple of seconds when she had took a deep breath and finally said. "My son had an accident.."
"I know I shouldn't ask you this favor." Mei Joan said, then she bit her lower lip. Her heart continued beating fast, thinking that Lee Shira might not accept her request.
She again had taken a deep breath and said with worry on her voice. "I need to go in the hospital, but they don't allow little children because of health reasons."
Not hearing an answer from Lee Shira, Mei Joan's nervousness almost made her chocked while she speaks. "I can't bring her with me, but Arwen doesn't want to go with anyone."
Mei Joan helplessly explained. "Arwen keeps on having a tantrum whenever someone tried to take her... She even bit my sisters arm..."
Lee Shira: "..."
With her throbbing heart, Mei Joan courageously said. "I was wondering if... If you and Mrs Lee can look after her? Just for a couple of hours until I'm back." she pleaded with earnestly.
Unfortunately, Lee Shira did not respond. But he looked back at the little girl whose arms are still in the air, waiting for him to take her on his arms.
But what made Lee Shira frown was to see the tears that falls from Arwen's eyes; silently sobbing while she said with a crying baby voice. "Daddy..."
Lee Shira: "..."
Lee Shira thought for a second before he glanced at the bedroom door and looked back at Arwen and spoke with his normal cold voice. "Stop crying or else I won't get you."
Mei Joan: "..."
Mei Joan was speechless. But she did not take the way Lee Shira's words negatively. She wanted to laugh that he is obviously going to be a very strict father.
What else can Mei Joan expect? It was pretty obvious based on Lee Shira's appearance. Especially after witnessing how he handles his wife's tantrums.
