Hottest couple of the month

Our love flourished like wild plants on the banks of the lake, and within one week we were the talk of the school. Not all of them talked good of us though, especially me. Some thought that I was after Lily's money and my love wasn't genuine. They thought I didn't deserve and she deserved someone better. That didn't deter me from showering Lily with love though.

We were together almost all the time I was free. Every time I didn't have a class, I would find myself knocking at her door. I barely spent time in my own house. I even sometimes I skipped classes just to spend some time in her arms.

My life in campus became smooth after I met Lily. We did a lot of things together. We made a lot of memories together, some of which I won't forget till the time I'm laid in my casket.

Lily was both my lover and my only friend until I made another friend later that trimester. Mike was a guy we were studying together. He was the other silent guy in the class apart from me. I can't really describe how we became friends but I guess our common features drew us together. We were both silent and we both didn't have friends so we saw ourselves in each other.

"I saw you on a poster on the notice board bro. Was it really you? Who is that beautiful chick you're chewing?" Our friendship with Mike grew very fast. We sat together in class. If I wasn't with Lily, then I would find myself hanging out with him.

"What poster? What did the poster say about us?" how could I know there was a poster on the noticeboard about Lily and I when I didn't even know where the noticeboard was.

"You mean you haven't seen it yet. it has even been posted in the university Telegram channel."

"Mahn, I don't even know where the noticeboard is. As for the Telegram channel, I don't remember when last I visited there. Why don't you just tell me what the it said about us?"

"Dude, you and that chick are the hottest couple of the month."

"What? Who…who…" I didn't even know how to react to that. I was surprised but at the same time impressed. It meant that people had finally come to realize that our love was genuine. we spent so much time together with Lily. Most of the time she waited for me after classes where we would walk out of the campus hand in hand or my hand on her waist. I guess such romanticism is what attracted the University's paparazzi. It was our first year of study and still the first trimester and we were already trending as the hottest couple in the whole university.

"Where did you find such a gem bro? That chick is really beautiful. What's her name?"

"I'll introduce you to her when you meet. Let's go have lunch in her house, it's just around here."
