Enter the Dungeon

I got up since people were gathering. I listened Jonathan's instructions. Even though the the rank and number of the people gathered here was higher instructions were same. I was grouped with another Sharpshooter to right side of the group. He shoot me a suspicious look. I can't say I blamed him. He carried a crossbow. It was unusal but I didn't said anything. Most of us used bows. Guns and crossbows also were used but they were rare. As long as he did his part I didn't care. I stepped into blue gate and found myself into a rocky place. It was similar to a mountion range. I already read about his dungeon so I wasn't really suprised. Using Hawkeye, I traced my around us. My vision range was probably widest and furthest so it was my responsibility to keep group safe.

"Clear."

I shouted. Some turned back to me with expressions I didn't know the meaning of.

"Do your job through."

Crossbow guy said rudely.

"I did."

He shot me an agressive look. I didn't react to it. Soon, other sharpshooters also shouted.

"Clear."

"Clear."

I didn't said anything. Looks like I was the fastest sharphooter here. Since I didn't join any dungeon raids after my Hawkeye was upgraded, I didn't know how much better it got in a dungeon raid. Looks like it improved a little too much. We slowly moved in formation. We moved forward rapidly after that. First entrance in the dungeon was the second dangerous moment in a dungeon raid. It was always possible some elite monsters were in entrance. Without proper formation and without all members of the group, hunters could easily die. So it was normal we would move faster after that. My eye was still fully open to any dangers though. We walked until we arrived at a camp site. Calling it a camp site was a little bit stretch. It just carried signs of being used by humans.

"We will be setting up here! Let's move fast to set up, everyone! Hawkeye, can you come here?"

Jonathan called to me. I walked forward with everyone's eyes on me.

"Is there a problem?"

"No, no. Just be careful when inspecting around us, okay? Don't need to be so hasty."

So that was it. They thought I was some kind of rookie trying to look good. I didn't really cared what they thought about me.

"Will do that."

I could easily argue that I could easily see any danger but why would I waste my time? Also even when you are right, it wasn't really a good idea arguing with raid captain. Jonathan probably wasn't like Volkan but still… I just nodded and went to set up my tent. It wasn't my first time spending overnight in a dungeon so I had practice setting up tents. I didn't had a lot of stuff. Most of them were in the holding bag Elizabeth gifted to me. It had a lot of space and weight reduction option. It probably costed several hundred thousand dollars. I carried carefully. It held the blood I had to drink besides important stuff like extra clothes, first aid and weapons. It was something a hunter my rank couldn't even imagine having.

"I don't know if that's just a way to put a leash on me."

People felt gratitude when they recieved something. Even with all the shit Elizabeth caused me, she kept being a confusing figure in my life.

"Ups!"

I was alarmed due fast movement in my vision. I learned to keep Hawkeye to detect fast or foreign movements. Due someone falling down it activated to fully. Reason why I didn't kept it fully activated was because it nearly blinded me when I used for long periods. I again turned down my vision and walked to person on the ground.

"Hahahaha! Sorry guys, I fell down! I really should have listened carefully when they told us instructions on how to set up camp!"

She is talking to a camera? Communication between inside the dungeon and outside was unreliable at best so it was probably just a recording. But who in their right mind would spend time in a dungeon with that? Maybe she was trying to get educational videos for younger hunters? No, for something like that you wouldn't use a single hunter and a camera like that. Don't tell me….

"An influencer."

I spat the words with disgust. I was old fashioned and I only saw them as childish people but doing it in a fucking dungeon raid? Beyond stupid.

"I am sorry. Can you help me?"

Shit, she must realized I was looking at her. My first reaction was just behaving as if I didn't heard her.

"Excuse me! Wow, you are quick! Can you also help me?"

She walked towards me while waving her arm. Looks like plan A failed. Plan B is just help her without speaking a word and hope that she leaves me alone. Nodding, I walked to her part and it was a disaster. How could an adult manage to fuck off something so badly? Still, it wasn't my first time seting up a tent for someone else. Everytime rookies first camped outside there would be several of them that failed to set up. So as the superior of them you would step up. Worst part of it wasn't doing someone else's job. Worst part of it was the fact that she didn't shut up for a second of it. She spoke with camera in her hand.

"Is there a reason you wear a mask? Or is it just the bad boy vibe?"

Feeling fed up I decided to roast her.

"My face is heavily scarred at a previous dungeon raid. If you don't want to end up same, I advise you to focus more."

I didn't even lied to her. Scar around my eye still remained. She froze due my reply. I smiled to myself and walked off to my tent.
