Stubborn Arrogance

'He, is, not sane.' was Max's conclusion, seeing the gang master slowly but nonchalantly pushing away from his way the hanging dead bodies as he made his path through them — he looked cleaner and different, totally more frightening.

Gold's overweight steps halted in front of Max a long while later, his height being about the summative of Max's height and the stool's height. From looks only, he was a huge, roughshod and evil wolf whose face was daunting and parky, killing and dangerous: Super murderous.

Just like his inner wolf, "With no due respect, Gold greets you. Slave." His voice was similarly not friendly at all when he spoke. He then stared directly into Max's brown eyes that starred back with less veneration and hopelessness, and pain as well as something like haughtiness mixed with rigor, and long-lost happy days.

Max buried his fear and spoke instantly. "A'never want ya respect. But yah, what d'ya want from me? Why haven't ya hanged me already?" He looked back unblinkingly likewise defiantly.

"Foolish sleepy baby. You are in a haste to die young?" Gold smirked meaningfully. "Life is beautiful. Live long. Have golds. Do crazy things. Kill, rule, dominate." He paused, frowned deeper, then he said: "You are ridiculous. What good do you believe you can offer to satisfy the satisfaction of Gold? Or do you have any golds to offer me? What is your name?"

'I have more than golds to offer, you damned bastard. I am a fucking multi-billionaire, but life is nothing beautiful.' Max thought opposingly. "Ah refuse t'tell ya." he said with clenched fists. He imagined punching Gold, a damn good imagination that triggered his own smirk.

"You slept a lot." Gold said casually while placing his heavy right leg on the stool. "The next time you can't sleep up to this good... My ringed fists are always here for your service." His hairless arms half-shifted as he said so.

"Go serve yah whores."

PUNCH!

PUNCH!!

Two punches from Gold and trails of blood trailed down Max's nose and lips.

'Fucking, DAMN! That was strong!'

"You are not worthy of conversing with me directly. Now, the pleasantry exchange is over. Carefully listen to me. I am gonna task you with something which you must fulfill."

"What if ah refuse? Ya think yar tiny punches can bend me to..."

PUNCH!

PUNCH!

[Warning: You are losing so much blood]

[You are running low on blood]

[Your Vampire body alarmingly needs human blood for better functioning]

[Blood Time: 8h: 10m: 10s remaining]

"I can do that for a lifetime. Challenge?"

"Ya don't treat ya challenger like that and expect him t'behave fairly." Max smirked challengingly. "If ya think not so, then ya're as childish as the first human baby. Inexperienced!"

PUNCH!

More blood flowed through Max's facial orifices. He glared at Gold and shouted at his face: "Come on cute monster! Try giving out the worst possible worst mah damned life hasn't given to me yet!" He spat blood on Gold's ugly face and smiled crazily.

'You think you are mad? That was when you hadn't met me.'

Gold cleaned away the saliva and blood with his hairless arms. "Ah~ ah~ ah~ I see~ I see the trait of rich men here. Stubborn arrogance. I know your type, the deal type, nope?" His words proved his amusement.

"Call me all ya want for ah don't give a damn."

"I can't wait for their arrival at the Valley of the Dead. So we should make a deal, slave."

'What is he saying?'

Max tilted his head to the side. "Am not so sure."

"You sure or not is nothing gold." Without any warning, Gold forced away the stool with his leg, leaving Max dangling in the air like the remaining Blue Forces. He wordlessly looked at him kicking down his legs in the air as he was in pain.

Turning over, the big bad wolf tardily paced away through and through suspension of dead bodies.

★★★

[You can not summon any weapon]

Void Emotion summoning seemed not possible for Max, due to a blurry reason, who looked like dead in all ways. Swinging back and forth, the blessing of death was not at his disposal.

'Death is a blessing.' he thought, imagining in admiration how relieving it could be for him to die, wondering how delightfully those Blue Forces surrounding him died.

No tears, no frown, no smile nor any sort of emotion on his face could be found. Regretting how he spoke to Gold? That never crossed his mind!

'Who is he? Who the hell is he that I shouldn't speak to him like that?' he furiously thought with laziness in his tone. He was tired, Max was tired! Although he was financially wealthy, he was always handled like a slave marionette who must be able to follow the wants of the supernaturals at all cost. Most of them that he chanced to meet since he became a Vampire were the same in that aspect!

Closing his eyes to disregard all sort of negative thoughts brimming to scream their loud voices out through his mouth, they died but unfortunately for the first time after a long while, he heard Lucas' voice intruding into his head:

«Not giving up doesn't guarantee success. Have I ever told you so?»

'Do you know that way out of my head? Follow it.'

«Evelyn is greeting you.»

Hearing her name, Max stopped kicking his leg in the air.

'Greet her back, messenger. Just fuck out of my head and keep doing whatever was keeping you busy.'

«You know... only morons speak to Gold like the way you did. Why can't you stop making fruitless efforts in life? Why can't you look wisely at what you've gotten yourself into? Look at how you are being fooled by an old woman...»

Max silently pondered over what Lucas lastly just said. 'Being fooled by granny right... Lucas, if someone truly fools me, I think you need to befriend that person because he or she is doing exactly what you did to me five years ago. After I trusted you as a blood brother, you took Chloe and everything from me. So come on, go mark Penelope for all I care.'

Lucas was silent. Still, he was silent until after a minute:

«You are a bloody moron Vampire that trusts blindly. Here's advice dear friend, run away from Royalty Pack as soon as you can or I will come and behead you legally.»

Before Max could say anything back, he noticed Lucas had cut off the mind-link.
