Mariano and Granny watched Iris stride out of the kitchen after washing her plates, to go back to her room to finish some work she had to do on her computer.
"It went well, I guess," she chuckled dryly.
Mariano didn't say anything. He was listening to the receding footsteps of Iris in the hallway, following her by listening to her steps until she reached her bedroom and closed the door behind her.
"You don't have to worry too much about her," she crooned, rubbing his muscled arm. "We can have fun without any worries from now on."
"Hey," she straightened her back and nudged. Mariano's arm with a slight annoyance. She was talking but he was not listening to her at all.
"Hmmm."
"Hmmm, what?"
Granny glared at Mariano. Her irritation was growing because she could feel that he had something that he was not telling her.
"Listen—"
