Don't Tell Him

"You're well aware that Calixto owned this girl! Why do you have to come out and make some trouble!"

"Marietta, why are you so uptight? You're a young girl, eh?" He said, taunting.

When it comes to age, Talon is way older than Love but when it comes to physical appearance, Talon looks younger than her.

And Talon is her uncle. He's her mother's older brother. Fighting with him was a terrible idea especially if those who lived in the old mansion would hear about it but she didn't really have much affection for Talon. Right now, she has more investment in Iris because her cousin Calixto trusted her with his human girl. And in the family, everyone knows about Calixto's temper behind his cool and indifferent demeanor.

She didn't reply to his words, instead, she looked at Iris who was able to move to her side from standing behind Talon.

She grabbed her hand and pulled it a bit rough.

"I remember clearly telling you to stay next to my side. This is why I'm telling Calixto that human slave is a dumb idea! He won't listen to me!"

Iris creased her forehead with the anger in Love's voice. She wanted to answer back to her, especially when she called her Calixto's human slave. She was not his slave. However, when she caught a glimpse of Talon from the corner of her eyes, she understood the show of Love's anger.

She lowered her head and slumped her shoulders like a dog that was caught being bad by its owner. She even debated within herself if she should whimper. Good thing that Love slammed the door of the bathroom shut and that she was saved from her poor acting.

"I'm not Ca—-"

"Shut your mouth!" Love widened her eyes at Iris, tugging her hand to stop her from talking. She knew that this young girl was quite inquisitive from Calixto's story about her. And right now, she didn't want her to start babbling while Uncle Talon was within earshot.

Iris pulled her lips into a tight line as she quickened her steps to catch up with Love's long angry stride.

She was panting when they reached the parking lot but Love didn't give her time to catch her breath. She opened the backseat door of her car and pushed her inside without a word before she moved to the driver's side and started the car's engine and drove away from the club's parking lot at a speed that wasn't allowed.

Love had been driving for about twenty minutes before she broke her silence.

"Can you crawl here in the passenger seat?"

Iris was busy staring outside the window, thinking of the task she was going to do for her client and the time that she needed to finish her client's request. She was worried that she would be pressed with time with Love dragging her to wherever she was going.

"Huh?!" She asked in confusion, looking at Love's expression in the rearview mirror. Seeing that she was serious with her question, she nodded and crawled in between the tight space of the passenger and the driver's seat.

She should not have had any problem moving from the backseat to the passenger seat if she wasn't so worried about her dress.

The moment she bent over to crawl, the hem of her dress was pulled up, leaving her behind totally exposed. She had to pull down the hemline of her dress as she slowly made her way to the passenger seat.

"No one is behind you to see your ass!"

Iris rolled her eyes. "Doesn't matter. I don't like how it makes me feel."

"You were having a good time, grinding your ass on the dance floor to the last person that you should talk to," she snapped at the young girl. "But at least you know how to keep your mouth shut. The last thing I want while you're under my watch is to fight Uncle Talon."

"He was your uncle?" She asked with open fascination. "He looks like we are just of the same age."

"No. He's way older than you. And you don't want to go near him ever again. So, next time that he approaches you, run away from him."

"Why?" She asked to annoy Love. She knew that the other girl didn't like her that much and was not expecting an answer.

"Because he hates Calixto allCalixto with all his life."

Iris gasped. The coldness in Love's tone of voice and the way she said her statement made her shiver with fear.

While they were in the bathroom, she could see in Love's body language that she was scared of Talon. She was just faking her bravado but she wanted to stay away from her Uncle Talon as soon as possible, hence, she basically dragged her away from him.

It was the reason why she didn't complain about Love's actions. She didn't know the story between them but she could feel in her bones that Love was scared of her uncle.

"I think I should not ask nor should I know any of it. Talon can make me answer questions that I didn't want to answer," she said, kissing the dashboard for Love stopped the car without warning.

"What do you mean?" She asked in a hushed tone when it was just the two of them inside the car.

"I-I don't know…" She cocked her head to the side. She just realized that she didn't really have an idea of why she felt that way towards Talon.

"I just want to stay away from him because I feel like I'm going to say something to him if I stay there with him," she said, trying her best to answer Love's question because she felt that she needed to hear her answer.

"Uncle Talon…" She mumbled under her breath, starting the car again.

"Iris, I need you to do me a favor."

"Favor?"

"Yes. And this is of utmost importance." She tightened her grip on the steering wheel and exhaled a deep breath, then said. "Don't tell Calixto that you meet Uncle Talon."
