Chapter 33: Let's go Barbie
Alastair creeps over to the window silently only to hear the sound of several recognizable squeaks.
With a groan and a sigh, he opens the window and two quarreling bats tumble through. He shuts the window behind them and watches as the two creatures realize what has happened and transform back into their humanoid forms.
“Ew, I hate being a little rodent,” Virdia complains, brushing off her flashy pink skirt and knowing full well that bats are not even remotely related to the rodent family. Azazel, for his part, hovers awkwardly in matching a matching pajama set.
“I’d like to ask you why you’re here, but first, could we take this into the living room?” Alastair urges, clearly irritated. Virdia scoffs.
“Why, it’s not like-“ Virdia’s eyes widen slightly as she recalls something and glances toward the lumpy mass under Alastair’s covers.
“Um…hi…” comes Oliver’s muffled voice.
“Ah, so sorry!” Azazel rushes, exiting the room without lingering a second longer.
