In an unloving house filled with thorns and blood the eye couldn't see, sleeping beauty was still resting on a soft bed with beautiful pink sheets. Her prince couldn't reach her, so he haunted her dreams, too impatient for her to wake up and for their eyes to finally meet.
Amaira's lashes fluttered once, before slowly rising to reveal a beautiful pair of blue eyes. She groaned while closing her eyes after them being assaulted by the sun and rolled over before snuggling against the firm, naked chest of...
Amaira's eyes shot open and her heart hammered violently hard against her chest when her eyes fell on the muscular chest she made her pillow. 'What the?!' she thought before using all her strength and pushing the stranger out of her bed.
A loud thump followed and she shuffled backward on the bed with her knees until she was at the other end with a pillow tucked closely to her chest.
When almost a minute passed and she didn't hear a peep from the man she pushed out of her bed, she slowly crawled back to the other end and leaned over to check if she rolled him to his death, but the spot was empty!
'What the hell?' Amaira thought. She tilted forward to check under her bed, 'Did he roll under the bed?'
"No, I'm right here," she heard a deep, masculine voice say from behind her and she easily lost her balance from fright and fell forward to the floor.
With her eyes closed and a pained expression on her face, Amaira groaned as she lay still on the floor.
"Are you okay? I didn't mean to frighten you."
His voice was gentle, soothing even, but it couldn't appease the angry woman who was laying in pain on the floor.
With a glare on her lips, Amaira opened her eyes and was ready to curse at the man at the root of her early morning troubles, but only the words, "Hubba hubba," left her lips when she finally saw the face of the mysterious fellow that found comfort in her bed.
Amaira completely forgot about the pain in her head as she quickly got up in a sitting position while staring at the Adonis laying casually on her bed with the palm of his hand supporting his head.
'And they say God doesn't have favorites,' she thought. 'How can a man this deliciously handsome and sexy exist?'
Her eyes went wider and a bright red hue found her cheeks as she wondered, 'How did he end up in my room?' She gulped, 'With me...on my bed?'
An amused smile rose to the lips of the handsome devil watching her curiously, observing her every movement as she argued with herself in her thoughts.
'Did I sleep with him? Was I that drunk?' Amaira's face got even hotter, 'Was the sex good?' She internally groaned, 'I wish I could remember!'
Amaira internally facepalmed as she countered her own thoughts, 'Don't be an idiot Amaira, look at the guy, he wouldn't even need to touch you to rock your world.'
'What the hell am I even thinking? I didn't do anything with this guy, I've never even seen him before!'
'But what if I'm pregnant?'
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his laughter; she has not yet said a word to the man staring down at her from her own bed so she couldn't help but feel slightly self-conscious when he suddenly started laughing.
What's so funny? she wanted to ask, but the words refused to leave her lips.
"You're not pregnant." He got off the bed, "And we didn't have sex." A playful smile formed on his lips as he winked at her, "Not yet at least."
Amaira tried speaking again, but she had no voice. She touched her throat as she opened and closed her mouth, but it was like she became mute! What happened to her voice?
Seeing the worry and panic on Amaira's face, Elias explained to her the current circumstance. "Please don't be scared, this is not real, it's all in your head." He smiled reassuringly, "You are still asleep."
But she wasn't appeased at all, as a matter of fact, she was even more panicked especially after he said, "I became impatient so I came to see you. Also, I temporarily disabled your ability to speak since you most likely would have a lot questions and we only have little time, but I can at least hear your thoughts."
Embarrassment overpowered Amaira's confusion and fear, her face became so red a tomato would look pale in comparison. 'If he can hear my thoughts, then he probably heard all that I thought before."
"Every single word."
Amaira couldn't take the embarrassment anymore, she wanted to get out, so she started pinching herself hoping that she would wake up, but her actions only resulted in small red blotches appearing on her arm.
She tucked her knees to her chest and buried her face between them as she rocked back and forth. 'Maybe he'll go away if I ignore him.'
"That's not how it works," she heard him say before she felt muscular arms go around her and her body being lifted from the floor.
Amaira released a small squeal and anxiously tried speaking again, but unfortunately, 'I can make other noises, but I can't speak? That's stupid.'
Her upper body connected first with the soft mattress, but her lower body was accompanied by the weight of the man that trapped her between his tattooed arms.
His gaze was intimidating, but she couldn't bring herself to look away even as the gap between them started to lessen. It wasn't until their noses brushed against each other that Amaira's entire body tensed and her senses rebooted, but even then, she made no move to push him away.
Amaira slowly slipped her hand under her pillow as she lowered her eyes to his lips, 'This is just a dream.' She met his eyes, 'Right?'
