27 Chapter 27

"Mom," Neo said when she saw her body next to her. She looked at her hands and realized that she'd parted with her flesh. "Ma Gladys," she added before crying. Everyone was looking at her body, but they couldn't see or hear her.

"June, what happened?" Jack asked. He was red in the face and clearly he had been running to get there after June called him.

"Dad," Neo said before trying to touch Jack but he walked right through her. She listened as June hysterically told Jack what happened. Jack looked at the hole in the roof before moving closer to Neo's floating body.

"I must have died," Neo whispered to herself. She'd watched a few movies in which a character's spirit parted with their body after they were declared dead so she assumed that's what happened to her.
