A Little Favor

Once Deon had taken care of all the things he had to do, like informing Bill of everything he had learned from Vincent. The only thing the mage could do after all the information he heard was to grab his head while mumbling curses against Vincent for forgetting to inform them about such important things. Deon started to feel sorry for Bill, because it was not such easy information to understand. As soon as he finished talking to Bill, he decided to go straight to Ian and ask what favor he wanted.

|| Ian, I hear you have a favor to ask of me, may I ask what it is? ||

|| I see that Vin has informed you that I need you to help me with something, but don't worry, it's not going to get dangerous. ||

|| In that case, what do you need help with? ||

|| It so happens that I need some parts for my new project, so I was wondering if you had time to go to the capital to buy some parts and take a look at the blacksmith. ||

|| Hmm, no problem, just please write down everything you need on a piece of paper, and it would also be nice if you could write down the address of this blacksmith, because if I am not mistaken there is only one in the capital that supports you. ||

|| Relax, I've already written everything on the list for you, and take these sketches with you, so he'll know whose order it is. ||

|| I understand, in that case let me get right to it, after all it is not that complicated. ||

|| Be careful as you move around the capital and on your way back. ||

|| You don't have to worry about me, everything is going to be all right. ||

Immediately after the conversation, Deon got a horse and headed for the capital, where he had only been a few times. Fortunately, his path has been quiet, as few people venture in that direction, well, unless they come to the Academy. His trip didn't take too long because the horse he rides is specially trained for the long distance and is also very fast. If he remembers correctly, this horse belongs to Vincent, but is more often ridden by Ian, so he does not like anyone but Vincent and Ian, but by some miracle he managed to bribe him with sugar cubes and told him that Ian had entrusted him with an important task. This horse was named Tornado because it was a folblut breed known for its elegance. It was the color of the night sky along with blue eyes, which was rare among these horses. Deon could safely say that Tornado was as stubborn as his owner, even resembling him in appearance, which may be why Vincent got such a beautiful horse. Arriving in the capital, he immediately went to the stables to leave his transport there temporarily, and then set off to buy everything on his list. The shopping itself did not take long, but he had a little trouble finding the blacksmith. After twenty minutes, he finally found the right street where the forge was located. As he entered the shop, the first thing he saw was a young man sitting on a stool, his legs resting on an anvil, his face hidden by the newspaper he was reading.

|| Sorry to bother you, but is the store open? ||

|| Ah, sorry I didn't notice you because of the newspaper. How can I help you, lad? ||

|| My younger brother asked me to place an order. So I brought the sketches he gave me. ||

|| Great, show me the sketches and I'll tell you everything you need to know. Well, unless you want me to write it down for you? ||

|| I would be grateful if you could write down this information for me, and Ian told me to pass on his greetings. ||

|| Looking at these sketches, I can immediately guess who this Ian is, I haven't seen him for a long time, has something happened? ||

|| To be honest, it's quite a lot.... ||

|| Really? Can you tell me about it? I'm starting to get a bit worried, I haven't seen him around for a year. ||

|| Hmm, it could be because he has moved and got engaged, he is also very busy preparing for the Academy, so I am not surprised that you have not seen him. ||

|| Wait, are you telling me that so much has happened to him in one year? Did he also get engaged? I thought he liked boys? The last time I saw him, he was with a black-haired boy who was by his side the whole time. They looked like a cute couple, but it looks like I was wrong.... ||

|| You are not wrong. Vincent, the black-haired boy, has proposed to Ian and they are now engaged. ||

|| I knew they looked like the perfect couple, but apart from that, you said they moved, so they don't live here anymore? ||

Deon had a nice chat with a blacksmith called Haydean Mildborn. Unfortunately he didn't get to talk to him for long as he had to go home, but while they were talking he told the blacksmith where they had moved to, and the young man spent most of his time asking about his favourite customer's health and how he was getting on in his new surroundings. According to him, he was a really nice person, so it was good to talk to him and get all the necessary things done. After the conversation, he went to the stables to pick up Tornado. Before he saddled his horse, he decided to take a walk. His back was still sore from riding that horse, and it would probably be the last time he rode Tornado. He preferred to cover the few kilometres on foot, as riding was too extroverted for him. Luckily he made it home in one piece and to top it all off, Ian was waiting for him at the door with a plate of biscuits. He began to wonder if riding was such a bad thing after all. If this was his reward for the service he had done.
