Blitz nodded toward's Griffin's words as the boy went out of Carraway Boulevard, making his way to the streets and the central bit of the city. He began to wonder which way was the Opulent District. His curiosity got to him when he overheard a voice.
"Citizens of Bentham! Men and women, boys and girls. Be careful on the streets. We have just received word from Scotland Yard that many patients of the Blightworth Hospital of London have escaped. Some of them may venture here. They are most likely dangerous, and if you see them, report to the Bentham police immediately! Wanted posters of the patients will be posted around town."
Blitz would then notice near a construction were wanted posters of the potential patients of Blightworth. He was worried. Would his face be on the poster? He checked.
None of them showed his face, but he wondered.
What happens if I run into one of them? He thought deep in his mind as he looked at the posters. Each of them had the picture of the patient with their tag being shown.
Kassick A-8
Ringwald C-4
Avery J. Hollander B-6
6, just a number above me. Blitz thought as he saw the poster of Avery J. Hollander who seemed a few years older than him but not even close to Kassick or Ringwald.
His focus was disturbed by a cry for help.
"Someone! Help!", the voice sounded like it belonged to a woman.
"What is it miss?", said a man with a gray uniform and custodian helmet. He looked like the city guard. Blitz overheard the conversation.
"A man is beating my husband. I think he's one of the patients that escaped from the Blightworth Hospital."
"I'm on it Ma'm!" said the guard running while following her to the said location.
Blitz just stood there as he pondered the thought of one of the wanted patients beating a man and his mission from Griffin. He remembered Kassick's words:
If you treat people good, they'll do you good in return. It's the same case if you do bad things to them
"If I can help them, maybe they can also help me find my brother". Blitz said seeing his hands with electricity, but he knew it might not be enough, he has no idea which patient is beating someone's husband. It was unlikely it was Kassick, so it was either Ringwald or Avery J. Hollander. Blitz took Ringwald and Avery's posters. Folded time into tiny squares and put him in his coat pocket. He would then notice a construction worker putting a hammer on a table before leaving it there. The boy had no hesitation to take the hammer and quickly catch up with the guard and the woman.
It didn't take long for him to know where the beating happened. He heard noises in the North and followed it there. Then, he saw it.
A man who seemed older than Blitz was beating another man with his fists. The victim was on the floor, unable to fight back.
"Avery stop!" said the woman who arrived with the guard. "You've gone too far!"
'Avery' spoke. "I loved you for so long, and this is how you repay me. No visits to Blightworth. No letters. No nothing! You treated me like that, well, I'll return the favor. And your husband will take it!"
Blitz neared the crowd of witnesses who were unable to intervene. He opened the posters he had folded and compared them to the one known as Avery. It was a match with Avery J. Hollander.
"Stop you!" said the guard who took out his blackjack but Avery avoided the blow and punched the man in the stomach. The guard fell down as Avery punched him again, this time in the face. The guard was done but his attacker was not done
"Avery J. Hollander!" Blitz yelled out loud at the sight of the senseless violence. He clenched his fists.
Silence filled in the streets as the crowd wondered who shouted. Avery stopped his attack on the guard and looked around the crowd. "Where are you?" he asked. "Show yourself!"
The crowd began to break as soon as they heard heavy breathing.. Like the growling of a beast. They soon separated as they saw Blitz breathing. Avery cocked his eyebrow.
"And who the frick are you, boy?"
Blitz took his step forward. Wind blowing through his hair and overcoat. He held his right arm to Avery. The electricity went up his veins and soon it sparked little by little along with the sounds of static shocks filling the boy's ears.
"My name is Blitz....and I'm here to stop you."
