Missed His Maroon Eyes

Whit's Point of View

I'd spent all night trying to perfect my potion that changes your eye colour. I knew I couldn't go back to the other side with grey eyes, so I made a potion to turn my eyes dark blue. Grey is the most common colour of eyes on the light side, but it's impossible for someone with dark magic to have eyes coloured that lightly. Their eyes are typically dark. The potion took a while, but I did it. I also changed my white clothes to black, but that was just a simple spell. I did it because I had to see Daku again. I don't know why, I just felt a connection with him. The man full of sorrows , I miss him for his maroon eyes, and that significant scar on his chest.

I tried to walk out the door , when my mother found me. I made sure to put my bangs over my eyes, so she wouldn't notice my eye colour.

" Whit!! What are you wearing?!?! Black symbolizes dark magic!!"

" Mother, it's fine!! You should give them a chance,"

"A chance?! They're all evil!! You haven't even met one!!"

" Really…"

" You don't know how evil they are,"

" At least some people over there can be good, "

" Whit, you have no idea what you are talking about!! You're too oblivious and blissful!! Change your clothes!!"

" Ok, Mother. "

I now have to sneak out through the window. Could be a little hard, but it's worth it to see Daku again.

Daku's Point of View

Last night was hard. I had to be at a party that celebrated my relationship with someone I don't even know, and definitely don't want to marry.

I went to the creek by the palace again, in hopes of getting away from everything.

" Hi , Daku!! I told you I'd be back!!"

" Whit? What are you doing here?!?! You'll get yourself killed!!"

" Not today I won't be,"

He brushed his bangs to the side, his eyes were dark blue rather than grey.

" Your, your eyes-"

" I stayed up all night working on a potion to change my eye colour. It was worth it!!"

" Why'd you do that?"

" To see you again,"

" I kind of wanted to see you again , too,"

" The man of sorrows has hope!! I missed you!!"

" I saw you yesterday,"

" I know, too long,"

"You are too blissful,"

" and You have too many sorrows, "

" Whatever, "

"What made you want to come back here?"

" I just, felt a connection between us,"

" What're you saying?"

" I wanted to see you again , I'm just glad I got to,"

"Why?"

" Because, you're a prince and I'm a boring nobody,"

" Don't say that!! I'm more boring than you are !! There's nothing to be jealous of, royalty sucks!! Just be glad you get to fall in love without arrangements!!"

" Don't worry about it, you can still fall in love!! You're not married yet!!"

" But I will be in a few months,"

" Daku, it's ok!! You'll find someone!!"

" If I do, the chances are they just want me for money and royalty!!"

" Like I said, you're too filled with sorrows!! You'll find someone who loves you, I promise,"

He looked down, then He looked into my eyes for a second, I felt something. I don't how to describe it, it was just , something. Something , truly amazing …

" Are you sure about that, Whit?"

" Daku, you will, just wait,"

He was smiling so sweetly, I envied it. I can't remember the last time I smiled. It almost made me happy seeing Whit.

"But I can't wait. My arranged marriage, remember?"

" You'll find a way to get out of that,"

" How do you know?"

" I just do,"

" You can't just know,"

" I can, it's called hope,"

" I still don't know what that word means,"

"Do they really not tell you what it means on the dark side?"

" They don't. "

" How do people act on this side?"

" They're like, they're pretty serious about everything, somewhat violent. What're they like on your side?"

" They're loving, happy,blissful,"

" Lucky them. Sounds nice over there,"

" It is, but it's kinda nice here too,"

" You haven't lived here, they hurt literally everybody with their magic,"

" We do that too , sometimes."

" My father always tells me that light magic is evil, he'd go ballistic if he found out I'm talking to you,"

"My mother says the same about dark magic. I think both sides should give each other a chance!! They really don't have anything to fight over,"

" I know. I wish I could see you more often,"

" What do you mean?"

" I mean that I probably can't see you for very long . It'll only be a matter of time before you are forced to use light magic ,"

" That can't stop me,"

"Whit,"

" I have to keep seeing you!! You're my friend!!"

His use of the word 'friend' really got on my nerves. I don't know why, though.

He got up from the ground.

" The eye potion, it should be wearing off, I have to go, bye Daku!!"

" Bye , Whit!!"

He started running back to his own side.

I fell back onto the grass, smiling intensely. What is it that I feel when I'm around Whit? Why am I so blissful all of a sudden?

" …Whit…"

" I need to stop finding you here, Daku!! You didn't have a proper meeting with your fiancé last night, she'll be arriving shortly." Father found me.

" Why do I have to see her?!?! I'm not marrying her, under any circumstances!!"

" Daku, listen to me!! You will marry her!!"

" I've been over this!! I want to fall in love-"

" Love is a lie, Daku. Come back to the palace. "

" Fine, but I'm still not marrying her. "

My father started walking back.

I went back to the palace .

She was already there.

"Not you again…"

"I wanted to apologize, for not properly introducing myself -"

" You're Eleanora Rozedale. You don't have to say it again. "

I was annoyed.

" I want to get to know you, we are going to get married,"

"No, actually. We're not. "

" We are!! Why do you have such a problem with me!! It makes me sad,"

" Well, cry me a river."

" Excuse me?!?!"

" Why do you want to marry me so badly?!?! "

" Because my parents said you were in love with me,"

" They lied."

" My parents don't lie!!"

" Well they did. "

" Hmph!! I'm going back to my own palace!!" She started walking out.

" Please do!!"

She's so annoying. I really don't like her.

" Daku!! Why'd you scare her off!!" My father was obviously mad at me now.

" I didn't 'scare' her!! I told her the truth!! "

"DAKU!! The truth?!?! What did you tell her?!?!"

" That I'm not in love with her!! That's it!! "

I went into my bedroom, and I didn't come out for the rest of the day. I was stuck thinking about Whit.

The next day came , I thought it would be a boring normal day. Little did I know…
