Pauly’s POV.
“Has it been done?” Marcell’s voice rings clear in my ear as the warmth of the phone a welcomed against my chilled palm.
“It’s been done,” I confirm.
“Who pulled the trigger?”
“Enzo.”
“I would have supported you Pauly if you had chosen to take the seat.”
“If it’s all right with you Marcell I’d like to return home.”
“We’d want nothing more for you and Ellie to come home Pauly. See you soon?” Marcell asked me.
Marcell sounded relieved, though he was a man of his word and would have supported me if I chose to pull the trigger. Philadelphia was no longer home to me. Chicago was. The Russo family was my family.
“Tell Enzo I’ll be in touch,” Marcell spoke pulling me out of my exhausted thoughts.
“What about everything on your end? Penelope?”
“She’s been dealt with. She won’t bother us anymore.” Marcell’s words held a promise that he had delivered the mafia princess a heavy punishment.
“Eleanor’s mother?”
