38 I Was Right

The bowl of porridge had come back to be the same as the beginning, cold and tasteless but Huan Meirong didn't care much. As long as her stomach didn't grumble and she wasn't at risk of malnutrition which could hinder her in her cultivation, she will endure it; moreover, this food made her remember the days where she was dedicated to her training, which had been more than a decade ago, making her maintain her focus and not grew indulgent.

*Gulp* It was good the porridge had no flavour as Huan Meirong was gulping down the food without a reserve and it wasn't because of hunger but because she wanted to enter into business mode soon.

*Cough. Cough, cough*

*Pat, pat*

*Cough* She chocked a bit when she ate the last spoon of porridge but it was quickly subsided after some patting in her chest.

"Eldest miss, here… some water," After a couple of minutes, Zhi'er came to her with a ragged breath. The little kid had run back and forth and walked into a few circles; when he had heard her chock he had immediately strode to her but he had stopped at the division screen and ran back as he hadn't had water with him and because it was again the diluted porridge, the water wasn't at hand, making him run here and there.

"Haah, it's all right now," she waved her hand, declining the water.

Zhi'er nodded his head, complying to her words, saying, "Then, Zhi'er will take the plates away."

Huan Meirong slightly nodded and when she heard Zhi'er steps far away, she sat cross-legged on the bed and took out the first white jade to confirm the suspicions she had about which her mistake had been; she had a hunch after having recalled the method of the jade and what she had done time and time again before falling asleep.

As she only needed a thought to find out what she was looking for, in an instant, she was reading in her mind the recipe to refine the Three Warm Suns Powder which was an antidote against the Icy Bell Powder.

"…"

'So, I was right; the heat had been slightly higher than the one said. Though that isn't the issue but the fact that the product I was extracting doesn't have an upper range for temperature variation where the product can still be extracted with a lower quality.

Tch, I remembered late. I should have read again the process of refinement and not trust my memory before beginning the refinement.

*Sigh* It can't be helped now though.'

She scratched her head and went back to re-read the method again; she read it over and over again for about twenty times before being satisfied and then, switched to read even more times the other recipes she was going to refine later.

The time she took was great because she not only was simply reading the contents; she was also visualizing the process to engrave till the deepest of her mind the recipes.

But she had a limit; she stopped when she felt her head heavy and let herself fall asleep without much thinking, forgetting completely Zhi'ers existence. Because this time his miss hadn't told him to not come pass the division screen, he from time to time had come to her to see if she needed something but every time he had found her in the same position; all quiet and with her eyes closed as she sat cross-legged. Therefore, he hadn't dared to interrupt her.

Now, he was seated in the floor with his head hanging; he had fallen asleep in his dutiful waiting.
