Nick knew he screwed up when Nyx asked him that question. No matter how much he wanted to say no, he still nodded and stood up. James looked at the two of them walking away to chat in private and rubbed his temples.

/"So?/" Miller pressed on the matter.

Tired, James unconsciously nodded. His thoughts, however, were elsewhere. Even though Miller was showering him with questions, none of his words reached his ears. The feeling from before slowly vanished, but it left him wondering. What made him wonder even more was Nyx’s behaviour.

She was worried.

But why?

Because James wasn’t that much of an idiot to think that Nyx had feelings for him after coincidentally running into him four times. So, why? His head ached just trying to come up with an explanation.

While he was still pondering over it, Nick came back, but Nyx was nowhere to be seen.
