Greatest Sacrifice

"Missed me?" Ben's voice was shaking.

"Where were you?" Edgar yelled, "I thought you were taken by Lunarian's men!" He calmed down then.

Lisa could see he was truly worried for his friend.

"I couldn't get the bullet out on my own, I am heading to Bianca, I know she mustn't be happy to see me but she won't leave me to die!" He was heavily breathing.

"Let me call Frank and please let me know your location!" He hung up then.

Afterward, Edgar sent him the location and they decided to somehow make it through the night.

In the morning they heard a knock when Edgar was inside the bathroom, Lisa was afraid of opening the door so she waited for Edgar.

Edgar rushed out and opened the door, it was a suited man with a red tie and French beard. Edgar glanced at him from head to toe and asked "Frank?"

"It depends on you though" The man shrugged and before Edgar knew he stabbed Edgar in the chest.

Edgar fell on the ground and died, Lisa screamed with fear and cried but before she knew the man got close to her and wrapped her head in a black sack.

After some time Lisa opened her eyes and found herself tied to a chair in a place where there was no light, and not much air to breathe, she could feel fingers touching hers.

She was confused and scared then she realized that her chair was tied to another chair with someone sitting on it and her hands were tied to them.

As she squirmed she heard a gasp "Lisa you are awake!".

Her eyes widened as she was familiar enough with this voice, she could now recognize it anywhere "Edgar? I thought you…" She couldn't bring herself to say the D word.

"He stabbed me with a dagger, I would have died if it was a wooden stake from that tree that disappeared along with that witch!" He whispered, "Otherwise slicing my head would be enough!" He added.

"Stop!" She yelled, "You think it's a joke?" He couldn't see her, but there were tears in her eyes.

Before he could say anything a big sound echoed around as if a big iron gate was opening and their guess was right because a place in front of them opened and the light spread out in the dark.

They were in a big container and there were dead bodies lying around Lisa and Edgar and the man who struck Edgar on his head came in.

Behind that man another man with a hood came in Lisa was frightened she clasped Edgar's hands "I'm here!" He tried to comfort her.

The man in the hood pulled back his hood and what Lisa saw made her frightened even more, he was bald, one of his eyes was covered with a black crescent mark, and that eye was glazed white, he was pale, and his long nails were utterly covered with dirt.

If that wasn't scary enough, he hissed at her with his wide set of teeth showing up and he smelled her neck, she tried to keep her head away from him but she failed.

"Stay away from here!" Edgar yelled.

His breath was filled with the smell of blood, and his cheekbones were about to tear their way out of his skin.

She closed her eyes and he laughed, his laugh was the ugliest sound to ever exist, he backed off and snapped his fingers.

Which made his men come close to them and slice the ropes around them using their knives.

"You are letting us go?" Edgar was the most genius person for Lisa but he seemed clueless, guess Lunarian was superior after all.

He raised his hand "Do you see the blackness around my nails dear boy?" Lunarian approached him "I kill the vampires like you all the time!

I never wash my hand, to remind the rest of you how brutal I can be when it comes to betrayal!" He cracked his finger as he closed his hand slowly.

"You were the one who betrayed us!" Edgar protested.

"Maybe! Or maybe I… chose to keep my matters secret!" He reached Edgar within a blink of an eye, and held his throat "I answer to no one! I bow to no one!" He was growling.

"Leave him!" Lisa pulled his arm and he eventually left his throat.

"You pretty little thing" He got closer to Lisa "I like your eyes, they are looking lovely filled with tears!" He stepped back and opened the container some more "Like two suns are setting in two different rivers but at the same time!" He then got close to her again "You know what I do when I like something? I make it happen more!" He held her face "Come with me!" He jerked back.

He got out of the container and made them follow him, his guys were pointing their guns toward them, and one of his men was standing by a road holding a man hostage, and then there was another man holding a little girl hostage.

As soon as they both got out of the container, the little girl cried for help "Lisa!" She yelled.

"Ella? Oh my God Ella!" She rushed toward her but a man held Lisa by her waist.

"Why are you doing this?" She cried.

"I am not doing anything! This is you who brought it upon yourself!" He yelled.

"Dad!" She cried as she looked at the male hostage.

He had mixed white and brown hair and was wearing a jacket.

Turns out they had their entire family move here just so they could get a grip on Lisa.

"Don't do this please!" She pleaded.

"Okay! But only on one condition!" He turned back to her.

"If you feed on one of them and your boyfriend feeds on the rest of them I promise I will let them go untouched!" He pointed toward a bunch of people, they were compelled.

There were 10 people in total "You want to end up in jail?" Lisa yelled, "There are too many people here!" She added.

Lunarian seemed annoyed and angry "Stop!" He yelled and all of the traffic stopped along with the people walking around, a bus near them and a bike behind it also stopped.

Lunarian snapped his finger and the bike behind the bus started and struck the tree and the man fainted on the spot.

"You think I am an idiot?" He yelled.

Lisa looked at her father who was nodding telling her daughter not to do as he said, before she could act one of his men who was holding Ella screamed with pain, and that's when they saw her running, she bit the guard on his hand.

"Edgar!" Lisa called out to him and he knew what she wanted.

He disappeared from in front of them with the speed of a light, to keep Ella safe so it left Lisa alone with the men of Lunarian, he commanded some of them to follow Edgar.

"Edgar is gone! Now you have no point in keeping my dad here!" Lisa demanded for her father's release.

"Maybe you are right!" He shrugged knowing she wouldn't feed on anyone, he snapped again and before Lisa knew the man who was holding her dad pushed him in front of the bus, and on Lunarian's command bus ran right at him.

He rolled under the tires and died with some of his body parts ripped apart.

"No!" She screamed as loud as she could, Lunarian and his men covered their ears, they had never heard something as painful as her voice, Lunarian felt as if his heart might stop working.

His men carried him away "We are not done yet!" He yelled.

It wasn't the most painful part yet, when Lisa ran to the dead body, she called out for help but people weren't even looking at her, she couldn't breathe, she held his face with half of it ripped off.

Edgar had heard her voice, he hid Ella somewhere safe, when he reached Lisa he was covered in blood.

"Oh my God!" He was shocked.

He sat by Lisa as she buried her face in his chest and cried breathlessly "He killed him, Edgar! He killed…" She kept crying.

"Stay strong Lisa, your sister needs you!" Edgar's voice was shaking, he had never seen anything like this before but he had to stay strong for her.

Afterward, everything around them normalized, and people started noticing that there was a dead body on the road.

People got help and took the body to the hospital, Lisa took Ella, with her, and after reaching the hospital she called her mom.

When she reached, they embraced each other and cried, "You have to make a choice Lisa!" Edgar held her by her shoulder.

"Excuse me? Who are you? What is he talking about?" Her mother questioned.

"This is just for now, I promise I will help you get everything back to normal!" He whispered.

Lisa hugged her mom and Ella tightly, and cried "I love you, Mom!" She whispered in her trembling voice, then she held Ella by her shoulders and looked her in her eyes "This will be our little secret" She whispered.

Ella hugged her and cried.

Edgar held her mother and looked her in her eyes "Your husband died in a road accident, you don't know Lisa, you have just one daughter, and after the funeral of your husband you will take her to another country, start a new life and will try to move on!" It was hard for him too but he did it anyway.

She turned away with her eyes filled with tears but without blinking, meanwhile, Ella kept looking at them and kept crying.

It was the hardest decision for Lisa, but if she hadn't chosen to do this she would be putting everyone else in danger.
