Days passed and the 3rd Division once again set off for their reconnaissance mission, this time, Seijirou following them.
Aizen was quick to hypnotized his squad to make them believe that Seijirou was diligently doing his work, while in truth he and Aizen had already traversed the borderlands of Hueco Mundo.
The stark, lifeless landscape stretched out in front of them, a vast expanse where countless hollows had been drawn to the swirling energy stirred up by the escalating Soul Society patrols.
As they ventured deeper into the shadowy dunes, Aizen sensed something unusual: an echo of reiatsu, distinctly controlled and emanating from something... someone.
"Aizen," Seijirou murmured, his gaze narrowing as he scanned the horizon. "Do you feel that?"
Aizen's eyes sparkled with intrigue as he nodded. "Indeed. It's more refined than typical hollows. Strong, intelligent… but not quite a shinigami's spiritual pressure."
His lips curved into a subtle smile. "I think we may have just found a rather... unique soul."
Following the trace of reiatsu, they soon approached a clearing where a figure stood amidst a gathering of hollows.
She was striking—her green hair flowed gracefully, and she wore armor reminiscent of a warrior, carrying herself with a composed yet powerful presence.
Her gaze swept over the hollows with an unmistakable protective air, her sharp eyes softening as she looked at those who had come to her for shelter.
"She's one," Aizen murmured quietly. "An Arrancar."
"An Arrancar…" Seijirou's mind raced with possibilities.
This was the first time he'd encountered one in the flesh—up until now, he'd only know of them through forbidden texts and from what Aizen had told him.
Hollows who had achieved a level of self-awareness so powerful they broke free from their masks. Beings neither entirely hollow nor shinigami, but something more, something… greater.
Aizen stepped forward with calm confidence, and Seijirou followed, mirroring his composed demeanor.
The figure, noticing their approach, turned to face them, her piercing gaze sizing them up immediately.
She appeared unafraid, almost regal, and there was a tension in the air as they locked eyes.
"What brings shinigami to Hueco Mundo?" she asked, her voice clear and steady. "Your kind usually comes here only to hunt."
Aizen offered her a polite smile, dipping his head slightly in acknowledgment.
"Forgive us for intruding," he began smoothly. "We sensed an unusual presence and were compelled to investigate. I must say, I'm surprised to find someone of your… caliber, here, defending these hollows."
The Arrancar's gaze hardened. "They have nowhere else to go. And with your kind encroaching more frequently, they need protection."
Her voice held a note of defiance, but beneath it, there was something gentler—a sense of duty to those under her care.
Seijirou exchanged a brief glance with Aizen, who caught on instantly. Aizen's smile softened as he shifted his tone to one of understanding and empathy.
"We understand your concern," Aizen replied. "In fact, it's precisely why we're here. You see, our interest lies in finding a way to coexist with your kind rather than merely hunting and fighting."
His voice was soothing, persuasive. "It is our belief that hollows, especially those with intellect and power like yours, deserve a place of strength and security—one where they aren't subject to the whims of shinigami."
She eyed them suspiciously, though there was a flicker of interest in her expression. "And what would you know about coexistence? You're shinigami. You destroy what you don't understand."
Seijirou took a step forward, his tone sincere and firm. "It's true that Soul Society has been rigid in its views. But there are those of us who believe that the current order is flawed. We see potential in hollows, especially in those like you—strong, intelligent, and capable of leading others."
"Who are you?" she asked, her tone still guarded. "Why should I believe a word you say?"
Aizen introduced himself, then gestured to Seijirou, who nodded. "We're high ranking officers of Gotei 13," he explained, "but more importantly, we're people who envision a different world, one where the boundaries between hollows and shinigami are not so absolute."
She regarded them with an intense, searching look before she spoke. "My name is Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck. These hollows you see? They're only the beginning. I have no tolerance for the slaughter Soul Society enacts in Hueco Mundo."
Seijirou was quick to respond, his voice steady. "We have no interest in mindless killing, Nelliel. In fact, we believe in providing stronger hollows like yourself a purpose—a sanctuary. We want to build a place where you can lead and protect your own, where they can live without fear of being hunted."
Aizen added, his words gentle yet calculated, "Wouldn't it be better for you, Nelliel, to have the power to shield those who cannot defend themselves? An alliance with us would offer you not only strength but the ability to protect countless hollows."
Nelliel looked at the two captains, her eyes searching theirs for any sign of deceit. "And why should I trust you? How do I know this isn't some scheme to lure me and my followers into a trap?"
Aizen's voice softened, almost sympathetic. "I understand your hesitation. But think about it, Nelliel. You're already struggling to maintain order here. The number of shinigami entering Hueco Mundo will only increase. And even with all your strength, protecting these hollows alone will become impossible."
Seijirou's voice followed, calm and compelling. "But together, we could build something lasting—a sanctuary, a force strong enough to keep Hueco Mundo secure from any who would seek to harm it."
She hesitated, her resolve visibly wavering. Seijirou could see her concern for the hollows under her protection etched clearly in her eyes.
He felt a quiet satisfaction knowing they had managed to strike a chord within her.
"What do you want from me?" she finally asked, her voice cautious but tinged with reluctant hope.
Aizen's smile deepened, knowing they had won her trust—if only by a fraction. "We ask only for your cooperation. Lead your followers, protect them. Together, we'll create a place in Hueco Mundo where hollows can thrive without fear. We'll fortify Hueco Mundo, and in turn, you'll gain the power to protect those who look up to you."
Nelliel was silent, her gaze flickering over the hollows surrounding her, who watched her with a mixture of reverence and hope. At last, she took a deep breath, nodding slowly.
"I'll join you," she said, her voice laced with a cautious resolve. "But know this—I'll protect these hollows with everything I have. If I sense any deceit, I won't hesitate to end our arrangement."
Aizen nodded in understanding, his eyes glinting with subtle satisfaction. "We wouldn't expect anything less. You have our word, Nelliel."
As she formally joined them, Seijirou couldn't help but feel a spark of exhilaration.
Convincing an Arrancar to align with their vision was a monumental step forward. With Nelliel at their side, their influence within Hueco Mundo would only grow.
The other hollows, recognizing the strength of someone like Nelliel, would naturally gravitate towards their cause.
After their alliance was sealed, Aizen and Seijirou bid Nelliel farewell, watching as she rejoined her followers, her presence alone inspiring renewed hope among them.
As they turned to leave, Aizen cast a sidelong glance at Seijirou, his voice low and composed.
"She will be an invaluable ally," Aizen murmured, a glimmer of satisfaction in his eyes. "We're one step closer to realizing our vision."
Seijirou nodded, his thoughts racing with the implications. "Indeed. With her support, we can continue expanding without drawing unnecessary attention. The hollows will see us as allies rather than intruders."
They left the clearing in silence, their minds filled with the possibilities that lay ahead.
Nelliel's alliance was a stepping stone—one that would help them establish a foothold in Hueco Mundo, strengthening their influence and bolstering their forces.
As they walked back through the shadowy expanse of Hueco Mundo, Seijirou felt the weight of their ambition bearing down on him.
He knew that each victory, each alliance, would bring them closer to a new world. A world where Soul Society's stagnant traditions would be upended, and where their vision could truly thrive.
And as they disappeared into the darkness, a sense of exhilaration surged within him.
They were reshaping the order of worlds, and this was only the beginning.
