Chapter 98 Desert and Espada

Ichigo stood on the high dune and watched the endless sand with a complex emotion. He could feel the loneliness coming out from every grain of sand.

"This place is so depressing."

Ichigo shook his head. Pesche had told him that he was welcome to go inside the city but he told him to be careful.

"So they might have something interesting waiting for me there."

Pesche didn't want to bring Nel with him into the city. He told him the truth which was understandable.

"Should I just unseal my power and show them how strong I am? Nah, That's not a good idea to show what I have."

Ichigo would never allow anyone to know what he had or how much he had before he was sure that they were not his enemy.

Ichigo then Shunpo toward the city. His speed was a little bit slower than Soifon so he was very fast.

The city was surrounded by a high wall made from sand. But he knew that those sand was full of spiritual power and it would be hard for a normal Shinigami to destroy it.

But for Ichigo. With just a swing of his sword would be enough to destroy them completely.

Ichigo didn't do that because he came in peace.

"Halt, What business do you have in the city?"

Ichigo was stopped by a guard that guarded the entrance to the city. He looked at Ichigo and became wary. He could tell that Ichigo was very strong.

His instinct wanted him to flee but he forced himself to not to.

"I came to take a look at what the city looks like. And here. This should be enough for me to go inside, right."

Pesche knew that he would be stopped at the gate so he gave him a token. It was like an ID card.

And when the guard saw the token. He was surprised but quickly nodded and moved out of Ichigo way.

"Please enjoy your stay sir."

"Yes"

The guard's behavior completely changed. He became very respectful. Ichigo didn't know that the token that Pesche gave him was something only Vasto Lorde could have.

And it was his. Pesche was well known around this part of Hueco Mundo. So many arrancar still respect him.

Ichigo passed through the gate easily. And he was met with the lively atmosphere. It was very different from the outside. It was so lonely and depressing.

"This place is really nice."

Ichigo smiled. It wasn't like he had thought and now he was fully convinced that hollow wasn't like they knew.

Ichigo walked around to take in the atmosphere and got more information.

Sung-Sun, Mila-Rose, and Apache were now observing him from afar. They still couldn't feel any power coming out from him which was impossible.

"How could he not leak any spiritual power outside of his body?"

Apache spoke. She was confused.

Sung-Sun and Mila-Rose also felt the same.

"He didn't seem to have a malicious intent toward the city. In fact he seems curious like he never came into a city before."

This made them even more curious as to why he acted like that.

"Let's observe him more. If he didn't have bad intentions. Maybe we could ask him to join us."

"Is that a good idea? I never heard Vasto Lorde govern the same place before unless."

"Yup, but everything is up to her majesty."

The trio then continue to observe the unknown Vasto Lorde. Until this point he still didn't trigger any trap that they laid for him. So it was good to say that he really didn't come here to make trouble.

Ichigo could feel that he was observed. But it was to be expected.

Now he had a drink that was full of spiritual power. The recipe is also very easy. He could make a drink like this. He just needed spiritual salt that could be found in the oasis in Hueco Mundo.

Ichigo listened to the words of an old arrancar. He was born inside the city but he heard a story from the hollow that evolved to become arrancar. The desert was the place that would swallow them and make them devolved back to mindless hollow.

So he warned him not to step his foot inside the desert alone. When they travel to another city. They always go in a group of ten at least. Not only that they would hide Espada to go with them.

Espada was a group of powerful arrancar that would do everything for money. Hueco Mundo also had currency that they used. They used hollow coins as currency.

Espada was established by the lord of twilight. Ulquiorra Cifer.

He was the only Vasto Lorded who didn't have land to rule. He acted more like a mercenary than a king.

Ichigo absorbed all of the information like spong. Everything would be very useful to him when he had to come here as a Shinigami.

Ichigo spent time with the old arrancar until he said goodbye to him as he had to go and take care of his grandson.

"This world isn't different from the human world but I think this world is more comfortable to live in to be honest. Unfortunately that only hollow would be able to live in this world without a problem."

If it was another race they would be rejected by the world.
