Chapter 82: Kaname Tōsen

Unable to see, everything in front of Yamahiko was shrouded in darkness. Unable to hear, all surrounding sounds were completely cut off.

His spiritual energy perception was lost, and he couldn't sense the spiritual energy radiating from Tōsen on the other side.

Yamahiko raised his right hand, and his Zanpakuto emitted a massive surge of blue light. He intended to use Hadō #88. Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō, to shatter this space.

However, at that moment, a splattering sound was heard as Tōsen's Zanpakuto struck Yamahiko's right arm. In the instant of being struck, Yamahiko managed to dodge, but his arm still bore a deep, bone-visible scar.

"Ah."

Yamahiko couldn't help but emit a painful groan. With only his sense of touch left to perceive the world, it had become extraordinarily sensitive. The subsequent pain filled him with despair.

"This is my Bankai. As long as you're within my space, your sight, hearing, sense of smell, and spiritual energy will all vanish. Only your sense of touch remains. Do you feel the pain now?"

Tōsen looked at Yamahiko and asked, but he soon answered his own question, saying, "Asking you is useless because you can't hear."

"But you are quite strong. I originally wanted to sever your hand, but I only managed to leave a bloodstain. Your skin is surprisingly resilient."

Tōsen's figure flickered as he lunged at Yamahiko, his longsword transforming into countless afterimages.

Kaname Tōsen's objective was not to kill Yamahiko but to make him break down in agony, using his sense of touch to torture him.

One of the birds was struck and exploded in the distance.

Yamahiko felt the change in electrical currents in the distance, and he instantly moved to that location, thrusting his spear.

Yamahiko's attack hit empty air, but his back was struck by Tōsen's sword, and blood gushed out.

He had fallen into the trap.

Tōsen had been waiting, knowing that the Chidori he emitted could be reflected back to its user.

He couldn't just let himself be beaten. When Tōsen's longsword came at him again, electricity began to surge around Yamahiko's body, forming a massive magnetic field.

Yamahiko reached out and grabbed the longsword just as it struck his abdomen. With his left hand, he directly seized the longsword.

"I've got you now."

Yamahiko grinned ferociously as he thrust his long spear toward Tōsen's abdomen.

"How is this possible?"

Tōsen's face was filled with astonishment. He tried to dodge to the side, but in the next moment, there was a squelching sound as the long spear penetrated Tōsen's left abdomen.

Yamahiko's left hand also had a deep gash from Tōsen's attack.

"Ahh!"

Blood streamed from Yamahiko's left hand, and Tōsen quickly distanced himself from Yamahiko, clutching his stomach.

"What a terrifying little monster."

Kaname Tōsen couldn't believe that Yamahiko could catch him in this situation..

"Where are you?" Yamahiko couldn't see Tōsen and gave a slight smile. His right-hand short spear began to continuously gather electrical energy.

Seeing him gather electrical energy, Tōsen had no choice but to charge forward and strike with his sword.

"Is it here?"

In the instant that Kaname Tōsen's blade entered the magnetic field, Yamahiko reacted. He blocked Tōsen's sword with his short spear.

The next moment, Yamahiko lifted his foot, radiating a blue light, and kicked forward.

This was a combination of predicting the opponent's position and using magnetism to sense the enemy's location.

Kaname Tōsen stood in the distance and didn't initiate another attack, but as Yamahiko gathered electrical energy once more, he had no choice but to charge forward.

"This time, I'll shatter your spine."

Tōsen was no longer interested in torturing Yamahiko; he wanted to disable him outright, even if his Bankai was nullified.

As the Captain of the Ninth Division, he was well-versed in interrogation techniques. Besides Bankai, there were many other ways to make Yamahiko talk.

As electrical energy gathered in Yamahiko's right hand, Kaname Tōsen suddenly appeared behind him, his sword aimed at Yamahiko's spine.

In that moment, the tip of Yamahiko's long spear pointed at the ground, and with a thunderous sound, an invisible electromagnetic pulse radiated outward from the position of the spear's tip.

Yamahiko gathered and detonated the electrical energy, causing free electrons from the periphery to be ejected. Leveraging Earth's magnetic field, this could generate a powerful electromagnetic radiation.

This electromagnetic radiation could interfere with electronic devices, but it also had an impact on the human body.

When low microwave power radiation affects the human body, it can disrupt physiological functions, causing irritability, headaches, and memory decline.

With high microwave power, it could cause severe burns to the internal tissues of the skin, even leading to death.

If the power was further increased, it could kill all living organisms within a few kilometers, and creatures at an even greater distance would lose their motor functions, effectively turning them into zombies.

This was the power of electromagnetic radiation.

"Argh!!."

The moment he was struck by the electromagnetic radiation, Kaname Tōsen had just raised his sword, but the next instant, his skin began to burn.

"Is that all?"

Just as Tōsen was scoffing at the power of the electromagnetic pulse, he suddenly spurted blood in the next moment, with his internal organs suffering severe burns in an instant.

He wasn't killed, but it was enough. Yamahiko clenched his left hand into a fist and slammed it hard into the ground.

Boom! Countless streams of electricity scattered in all directions, spreading outwards.

Tōsen, enduring the pain in his internal organs, quickly retreated, but he was still caught by the electric currents.

"I've found you."

Yamahiko grinned and his body suddenly disappeared, reappearing in front of Tōsen, thrusting with his short spear.

Tōsen swiftly drew his longsword and blocked Yamahiko's short spear with a loud clang.

Then, in the next moment, a small spherical projectile appeared in Yamahiko's left hand, and it shot out with a swish.

Miniature electromagnetic cannon.

Pew!

Tōsen dodged in time, but he was still pierced through the chest, leaving a large hole in his right chest.

"This won't work; I can't win. If it continues like this, I'll die."

Kaname Tōsen quickly made a judgment, releasing his Bankai. His body flickered and he appeared in the distance.

Yamahiko's full-strength attack was on par with when Kenpachi Zaraki removed his eyepatch and used two-handed sword attacks.

In Canon, when Zaraki removed his eyepatch and wielded a one-handed sword, he could heavily wound Kaname Tōsen. However, at this moment, Yamahiko lacked the ability to bypass Tōsen's Bankai like Kenpachi Zaraki

Yamahiko, despite his injuries, believed that he could defeat Tōsen as long as he could catch his form.

"Lost?" A slightly displeased Aizen looked at Tōsen.

Tōsen knelt on one knee and said, "I'm sorry, Lord Aizen. I have failed."

"Get up," Aizen responded.

With some disappointment, Aizen ignored Tōsen and instead turned his gaze to Yamahiko, saying, "It seems your strength exceeds my expectations."

Yamahiko's eyes displayed a fierce determination as he ignored the blood on his body. He looked at Aizen and Gin and asked, "Who's next?"

Gin Ichimaru tightened his grip on the short wakizashi in his hand and smiled, "Captain, let me take care of him."

Aizen shook his head and said, "The predetermined time is almost up. I will capture him."
