As soon as Yon arrived on his designated resting area, he thought about the things that happened in a year that he was here.

He was able to easily register for Shin'o Academy.

Graduated early from the first year levels until he was recruited to the Kido corps.

Harribel and his family during the time that he was at Soul Society were busy with their lives.

His Mother was busy managing the clan and implementing new laws. She even offered to have contact with the Shinigami only to be shut down by Yon. Although he said that they can only do so after certain events come to pass. His mother never understood but still agreed to him.

Harribel and the trio went back to Hueco Mundo and decided to create their own faction or fraccion. Yon let them be and thought that they were not his to control. But he was still worried for Harribel once Aizen decides to leave Seireitei.

Their relationship didn't advance further other than having mutual understanding that they were affectionate of each other. Yon was so busy with growing stronger and erasing any heart demon he might have that he neglected Harribel a bit.

Although they still see each other from time to time, it became less frequent especially with the tests coming in.

Thinking about this, Yon decided that he will visit her after getting this title which was being offered to him through this test. All he needs to do is defeat all his rivals for the position. And then make Harribel officially his.

10 minutes later

Yon returned to the place where the test was to be held. Upon entering the place he already saw his opponent.

He couldn't help but raise his eyebrows in confusion. Standing in front of him was a middle-aged man with black hair wearing the standard Shihakuso, he had a very menacing face that affected Yon in a very different manner none would expect.

Unlike Yon, the man doesn't have his Zanpakuto beside his waist. Yon still had Ryu on his side, his lips couldn't help but twitch a little as he held back his laughter upon looking at his opponent's face.

He looked like a very innocent man but the way he was trying to be menacing shows his very obvious lack of experience and naivety despite his middle-aged appearance. 

And the thing that makes Yon's lips twitch is the fact that a snot was clearly desperately hanging from his nose and would return to the hole from time to time.

'If I was an ordinary graduate, I might have been intimidated. But all his menacing face does is make me laugh.' Yon thought for a moment still holding himself, but the other one inside him is not helping.

'Hahahahahahahahaha!!!! Now that's the face that only a mother would love! Hahahahahahahaha!'

'Please stop, I'm suffering here!' Yon pleaded

'I'm sorry but, who wouldn't laugh looking at him, ahahahahaha!!!' Yon deadpanned inside his mind and said to Ryu.

'Yamamoto and Soifon are not laughing at him!'

'That's because they don't know how to laugh! Hahahaha'

The spectators where the initial three characters earlier whom Yon saw. On the sideline are the other two participants.

It was another middle aged man with a normal gentle face but the other one was a matured woman with long dark hair which naturally falls on her back.

Both were wearing the standard Shihakusho uniform minus the face cover.

As Yon and his opponent were now face to face, Kuchiki Kuzia spoke.

"This is a test for the position of the Vice-Kido-Chief Position.

You are not allowed to use your Zanpakuto and is only allowed to use pure Kido spells.

The winner will be decided when the opponent is unable to continue or surrenders.

On one side is Kanzaki Fujima and on the other is Tokisawa Yon. Are you both ready?"

"Yes!"2x

"Begin!"

As soon as Kuzia finished speaking, Yon's opponent started chanting while lifting his hands and pointed it at Yon.

"Hadou #4: Byakurai!"

[White/Pale lightning]

A powerful, concentrated beam of electricity immediately shoots out of his hands towards Yon who also began his chant and stayed his ground.

"Bakudou #8: Seki. Hadou #31: Shakkaho"

[Repulse. Red Flame Canon]

The beam of electricity was stopped and repelled by a round shield shooting back to Yon's Opponent who was surprised by the sudden turn of events.

Then Yon also launched his own attack, a red orb of energy was fired towards his opponent Fujima.

Fujima didn't put his guard on since he saw that his opponent was just a fresh graduate and a young one.

While he himself was already a veteran when it comes to Kido.

Before Yon's attack arrived he immediately defended himself.

"Bakudou #39 Enkosen!"

[Arc Shield]

As soon as he named the spell without any incantation, a yellow oval of energy formed in front of him to block the attacks.

Fujima stopped underestimating Yon and turned serious.

"Bakudou #8 Seki!"

[Repulse]

Fujima first deployed the same shield as Yon and began his incantation. But the shield was not even attached to any of his body parts unlike Yon who attached it to his arm earlier.

"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws.! Hadou #33 Sokatsui!"

[Blue fire, Crash down !]

Fujima canceled the Seki and launched his attack towards Yon who actually waited for his opponent and only paid attention when Fujima said the name of the attack.

This may have looked like Fujima's Seki spell was useless since Yon didn't attack but if it was another opponent, then Fujima might have been attacked while chanting a long spell.

"Enkosen."

[Bakudou #39:Arc Shield]

Yon said rather lifelessly as if bored. Fujima's attack was fully defended.

Yon lifted his right hand up as if holding something and spoke in a tired manner.

"Haien."

[Hadou #54: Abolishing Flames]

Yon said and then a ball of purple energy was generated on his arms as it slowly became bigger.

Once more, Fujima was surprised. Is this guy really a fresh graduate? How can he just casually name the Kido spells and still be able to produce more than half of its original power.? He didn't even include the Kido's spell number.

He forgot that Yon and he were both candidates for the vice-chief position, so it shouldn't be a surprise if the opponent he faced was as talented if not more talented than himself.

Fujima stopped thinking about it and immediately chanted a bakudo spell that can stop the coming attack from Yon who throw the ball of purple energy towards him.

This Kido spell was capable of incinerating and searing through an enemy's flesh once it made contact.

"Bakudou # 73, Tozansho!"

[Inverse Mountain Crystal]

Fujima gritted as the spell he did was a high level one. Even though he has mastered it already, it still takes some toll on him to perform a high-level spell without incantations.

An inverted pyramid-shaped barrier that seems to be made out of crystal appeared to protect Fujima.

"I shouldn't have underestimated you. So, I am going all out! 'Scattered beast bones! Spire, Crimson Crystal, Steel Wheels! Move and become the wind, stop, and become the sky. The sounds of warring spears fill the empty castle!

'Hadou # 63, Raikoho!"

[Thunder Roar Cannon]

A yellow, electricity-like energy gathered at Fujima's fingertips as he gestured both his hands towards Yon firing a massive amount of yellow electricity!

With that, Fujima was sure he can move that bored expression on Yon's face. But reality can sometimes be cruel to the weak as he saw Yon's face and not even a slight change was present.

This somehow annoyed him thinking that Youth these days aren't treating seniority seriously.

But his annoyance was immediately quenched with surprise again as he heard Yon's voice.

"Danku."

[Bakudou #81: Splitting Void]

Yon still calmly spoke as a large, rectangular barrier stopped Fujima's attack easily.

Meanwhile, in the spectators area.

"He just casually performed a high level Bakudo spell. You weren't kidding when you said you found a talent, Kazui."

Commented Soifon towards the current Vice-chief.

"Of course, Captain Soifon. I wouldn't dare lie in front of you, much less the captain-commander."

"Hmm."

Was the only sound that came from the Captain Commander.

Back to the fight.

"I guess its my turn, Senpai. 'Sajo Subaku'."

[Bakudou #63:Winding Binding Chains]

Yon once again casually chanted then chains of energy immediately formed and binds Fujima's hands. His opponent was caught off guard by his sudden move that's why Fujima was easily caught.

Also, this was supposed to be a fight where their blood would boil.

But since they were only using Kido spells, Yon was immediately bored because his opponent wasn't even moving from his spot which made Yon grew a pride that if he moved from his spot,

he would lose against his opponent who wasn't moving, so why would he move?

[Cliché cultivator mindset LOL]

"Hiryu Gekizoku Shinten Raiho."

[Hadou # 88: Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon]

Yon pointed his palm towards Fujima as a gigantic blast of electrical, spiritual energy was fired towards his opponent which was way bigger than Fujima's earlier attack.

Also, since Fujima was bounded by chains of energy. He was unable to defend himself from the upcoming attack.

Although his shield from earlier was still deployed, it was a lower-level spell. It can lower the attack power of Yon's attack, but it won't be able to stop it completely.

"Stop!"

Kazui shouted making Yon cancel his attack. Fujima who was sweating profusely, breathed out a sigh of relief. He probably wouldn't have survived that.

"The winner is Tokisawa Yon who will proceed on the finals."

Kazui declared and then both Yon and Fujima left the stage.

Soon it was the other two's turn which didn't even last longer than a minute. It was a one-sided beat down by the woman who initiated an attack and actually moved towards his opponent.

The older man was not used to chant less Kido so he was not fast enough to land any attack from the woman who was actually a close range fighter.

Using Kido as a weapon was something out of the box thinking, but.

Based on this alone, Yon was able to deduce that the one he faced earlier was the strongest among the three. And that he will be able to win his next fight easily.

10 minutes later

It was time for Yon's second fight.

Yon was now face-to-face with his last opponent. She was a natural beauty with her long dark hair with his two assets in front of her which the Shihakuso failed to protect or hide? Don't which purpose do her attire prioritize but it's definitely failing its job.

'They don't even compare to Harribel's.' commented Ryu.

With thought in mind, Yon became dazed for a moment and was surprised by the sudden announcement.

"Start!"

"Huh? Wait What?" Yon asked as he looked left and right in confusion and saw that his opponent was already advancing towards him.

In the sidelines,

"Hmph, that's what he gets for letting his guard down and being overconfident. Still, I guess it's normal for men to have that kind of reaction." Soifon commented as he looked at her own and sighed.

Kazui and the captain commander didn't even react to her words. Men must know when to retreat!

Back to the battle.

The woman who was fast approaching Yon had some sort of fire wrapped around her fists and feet. She started punching and kicking Yon who could only defend and evade her attacks due to dazing off.

'I didn't even hear the ref announce her name.' thought Yon.

'It's Kaguya Ino.' Ryu answered.

'Ino huh. She's good.' Yon's evasion to her attacks lessened as he blocked them more and more. Then.

'But not good enough.' Yon caught one of her feet and smirked. But then she gathered even greater flames on her hand hit Yon with it.

Naturally, Yon let go of her and avoided the greater flames that landed on his spot earlier.

'You were saying?' Ryu asked.

'fine, fine. Maybe I'll get a little serious.' Yon's demeanor changed into a serious one which Ino didn't fail to notice. She upped her game and created and even greater quality of flames above her and turn it into a ball of flames.

Yon assumed the standard academy stance for a Hakuda then slowly, his fist turns into an open palm while his lowered stretched out legs became relaxed.

After forming her attack, Ino decided it was time. She sent it towards Yon who only looked at it nonchalantly. He used flash step to evade the attack and charged towards Ino who was surprised.

As soon as he was near Ino, he extended both his index and middle finger in unison towards her.

"Tsukiyubi"

[Thrust Fingers] is a simple Hakuda technique. This was used by Shunsui in the series against Chad.

Ino felt a force she never experienced before, even against any of her seniors or teachers was unable to make her feel it. She was thrown off the stage and into one of the walls surrounding the place.

"I believe this match is over." Kuchiki Kazui spoke for everyone to hear but it seems Ino was having a different idea.

"I haven't even started." Ino said while getting up as her riatsu flared up clearing the place where she fell. Then she disappeared from her spot.

Yamamoto and Soifon didn't have a problem following her of course as they saw him went over to where Yon is. The latter wasn't even fazed by her sudden appearance in front of her and let her strike him.

"Hadou #4: Byakurai!"

Ino fired a bolt of white lighting from her palms which normally supposed tobe from the fingertips. But since she intended to pour more reiryoku into the Kido, she used her palms instead to facilitate the greater reiryoku used.

Yon didn't bother using a Bakudo and simply crossed his hands to defend.

But Ino wasn't done.

"Bakudou#4: Hainawa"

As soon as Yon was pushed back, an energy rope made of spirit energy entangled him mid-air. This too, was a bit thicker than normal which meant that Ino once more added more reiryoku to the Kido.

"Take this!" Ino shouts as her riatsu flared up once more, even greater pressure than last time.

"Limit of the thousand hands, respectful hands, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky. The road that basks on light, the wind that treasure, great wheel, grey fortress tower. Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired!!!" Kazui and Soifon was surprised halfway through the incantation.

"That's a high-level Kido with full incantations. Are you not going to stop it?" Soifon asked Kazui.

"I am not sure, Captain-Commander? What do you think?" The old man simply opened his eyes and said.

"Let's observe more. I have a feeling we will see something interesting."

""At once."" Kazui and Soifon replied and sat back meanwhile on the battlefield Ino just finished her incantation.

"Hadou # 91: Senju Koten Taiho!"

Several spears of light were summoned around Ino but all of it were pointed towards where Yon was. As soon as it all appeared, Ino didn't hesitate to fire it all.

Yon who was still roped with spirit energy calmly shrugged off the spell. He looked at the incoming attacks and muttered.

"Danku"

A shield formed in front of the spears but was able to go through it.

"That won't be enough to stop-" Yet Yon cut Ino off with another word.

"Danku" a secondary shield erupted in front of the attack but had the same results.

"It's useless." Ino said but.

"Danku"

A third one formed.

"Danku"

Soifon and Kazui had a helpless look while Yamamoto was simply smiling. Who wouldn't upon seeing Danku being used as if it was just a low level Kido without any incantations.

"Danku." Yon chanted for the 10th time as the attacks of Ino did passed through all of it but slowed down and stopped not even reaching Yon.

Ino was looking at Yon incredulously. Who would be crazy enough to pull off such a stunt? Well, she's looking at one.

"Give up?" Yon asked which brought her out of her stupor.

"Never!" Ino replied, her riatsu flaring up again yet not as powerful as before. It must've taken a lot out of her. Yet she formed the same flames on her hands and feet ready to face Yon again.

"Okay. Senju Koten Taiho." Yon acknowledged and chanted the same technique she just used. However only a single spear of light formed in front of Yon and it was pointing towards her.

Kazui and Soifon was confused. They even thought he might be running out of reiryoku after casting 10 Danku. Which was the same thought Ino had.

"Hahahaha, so you're out of juice too huh. Bring it!" Ino laughed and charged.

Then something which they were unable to expect happened. Yon held the spear of light, as soon as Ino was in front of him she struck her fist which Yon blocked with the spear.

He twirled it around and hit Ino on her side which then shoots Ino into a distance. She stopped her momentum and charged again. She and Yon engaged in a closed quarter combat with Yon using a spear of light as weapon while she encased her fist and kicks with burning spirit energy.

The battled it out the old-fashioned way. Spear vs Fist. Ino roared as flames burst from her only to be deflected Yon's spear made of light. Ino rushed and punch as many as she can towards Yon who deflected each and every punch with ease. Occasionally hitting her as it accumulates.

A while later, Ino punched out to get away. Her breathing, ragged. Her clothes, full of holes. Her body, wounded. Blood tricked down her face. Her blood boiling, her face smirking and finally her fighting spirit, burning!

No one has made her this way before, not even the teachers who taught her Kido and Hakuda. She could feel it, this man in front of her is still holding back.

"Stop holding back already and give me your best shot." Ino said to which Yon just shrugged his shoulders and said.

"If you say so. Let me show something I have developed." Yon unleashed his riatsu but only shown what he's always shown. A lieutenant worth of riatsu.

'Well, it is something I didn't create since it was written on a wuxia novel which I simply comprehended.'

Yon focused spirit energy on his right hand. Spirit energy gathered in a matter of moments and concentrated spirit energy already formed.

Upon seeing this, Ino prepared herself and poured the last bit of her spirit energy to her right fist too. The other two opponents who were defeated earlier were both looking at them with knowing smile. They now understood why they lost.

Both opponents stared at each other. Seemingly waiting for the right moment to clash. On Ino's side, spirit energy was burning like flames while on Yon's side, bluish spirit energy was condensing on his fist as rubbles and dust were floating around him.

Then as if signaled by the same sign both of them charged!

"Yaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" Roared Ino while Yon only chanted words.

"Earth Shattering Fist!"

Fist against fist collided!

Flames burst and exploded.

Spirit energy fluctuated and surged before it also explodes outwards.

But it was only Ino who was thrown out of the battlefield while Yon stood there still on his punching form.

As soon as Kazui saw this he announced the winner.

"Winner! Tokisawa Yon! He will now hold the Vice-Kido Chief position of the Kido corps! Congratulations, young one."

Yon bowed in acceptance while Yamamoto and Soifon stood and started walking towards him.

It was Yamamoto who spoke.

"I congratulate you on your achievement."

"The honor is mine, Captain-Commander." Yon replied in respect.

"But, are you satisfied with this?" Asked the Captain.

"What do you mean exactly?"

"Since you will take the seat of Vice-Kido chief of the Kido corps as the second-in-comman, it is only natural for Kuzia here to take seat of Kido corps commander. However, it does not denote that he will also take the seat of Grand Kido Chief which signifies as the most powerful Kido practitioner in soul society." At first Kuzia was nodding his head in agreement to Yamamoto's words.

But as the captain-commander added on, his face was becoming more unreadable.

"So, what does that have to do with me?" Yon asked still not getting the signal, he's mostly thinking of what to do when he goes back home. What will he say to Harribel exactly? He doesn't want their budding relationship to simply just end there.

"Well, would you like to have a Kido battle against Kuzia here for all of us to see who will take the seat as the most powerful Kido practitioner in the whole of Soul Society?" Soifon was not even surprised by Yamamoto's decision. Afterall, she bear witness to the young man's talent.

He was basically playing with the Kido spells she won't even be surprised if one day Yon suddenly perform a Kido spell without any chant at all.

"While that is an exciting proposal, I don't think my current knowledge of Kido spells will be enough to contend with the new Kido Corps Commander's experience."

"Exactly how much time do you need to be ready? And what resources do you need?" Yamamoto asked directly understanding Yon's answer.

"Are you serious?" Yon asked in suspicion. Why would the Captain-commander readily give his support to nurture him? His question bore no answer from Yamamoto but only silence and stern look on his face.

"I need all available Kido spells and other related techniques. 3 months, that's all the time I need to take the position of Grand Kido Chief of the Kido corps."

"Very well. I, Yamamoto Genryusai, the current Captain-Commander of Gotei 13 hereby declare, the grand battle between Kuchiki Kuzia and Tokisawa Yon for the position of Grand Kido Chief of the Kido corps. This seat signifies the most powerful Kido practitioner in the entire Soul Society. The battle will take place 3 months later in the Arena of the 1st Division, that is all."

Yamamoto immediately went out of there followed by Soifon and Kuzia. Murmurs were heard as they went out.

Yon himself didn't wait for anyone else and also disappeared from everyone's view. He went directly to his room where he was staying. It was time to take out the inscriptions for the portal way home.

He will need to setup a new one inside the new residence that will be given to him as the new Vice Kido chief.

Not a moment long, a knock was heard on his door. Upon opening, he was greeted by two person covered in the standard uniform of a Kido practitioner from the Kido corps.

"Hello, we were sent here to fetch you and send you to your new place."

"I understand. Lead the way."

"Uh, don't you have anything with you?" asked one of them. Although they are souls, it doesn't mean that they don't have other clothes they use during their breaks or if they don't go to work. If there was even a day off in Gotei 13.

"I don't have much with me, so don't worry about it." The two nodded and started leading the way.

Central 46

Aizen was already making his move by killing everyone inside Central 46. Using his ability to cover it all up, he was able to send out an order.

It was an order for Captain Kuchiki Byakuya and Lieutenant Abarai Renji to retrieve Kuchiki Rukia for crimes of giving her Soul Reaper powers to a human. Additionally, they are to be accompanied by the new Vice-Kido chief Tokisawa Yon to open the Senkaimon and assist on her arrest.
