Chapter 230 Interrogating

Ichigo was led to the interrogation room inside Uyabashiki's estate by Kanroji Mitsuri and Iguro Obanai. 

While he was being escorted to the interrogation room, he heard many interesting pieces of information using his super good hearing sense.

The two of them were Hashira, their position was like that of the captain of Gotei 13. However, they were weak. They were just normal humans who happened to be particularly skilled swordsmen.

They were capable enough to fight with the lower moon rank demons. But when it came to facing higher-ranked demons like the upper moon demons, they struggled to keep up with their supernatural strength and speed.

So many Hashira died because they fought with the upper moon rank demons.

Ichigo calculated. The upper moon rank demons should be of the peak low class at best. And the lower moon ranks were equivalent to peak normal humans.

Ichigo could erase them with a mere thought. That showed how pitifully weak they were. He could just destroy everything that irritated him.

'How could I think like that?' Ichigo thought to himself.

He wasn't someone who would think like that. It must be because he was influenced by the authority he got from Ophis.

Dragons were prideful creatures, after all.

If it weren't for him, who had the best control of his emotions, anyone who got it might not have been able to resist the temptation.

"Go in," Obanai said.

He tried to push him into the interrogation room. Even though he didn't use much force, it should be enough to push someone of Ichigo's size. However, to his surprise, he was the one who stumbled backwards.

'What is his body made of?!' Obanai tried again, yet failed again, even though he used more force than earlier.

"What are you doing Obanai-kun?" Mitsuri asked while looking at him in confusion.

"This…" Obanai couldn't find words to explain. He felt his face burning with embarrassment.

He wanted to show off in front of his crush, but he ended up embarrassing himself instead.

"I can go in by myself. Don't push yourself too hard." Ichigo smirked. His body weight was far greater than normal.

He had to use Kido to always make his body lighter for daily life. But there was no way he would let him push him like a rag doll. So he canceled it.

Obanai wanted to say something, but Ichigo had already gone inside the room.

"See you later, Mitsuri-san. Thank you for the offer to help me. I will gladly take it." Mitsuri told him that she would help him find a way around Kyoto. And it would be stupid if he didn't take it.

Talking about Kyoto. He thought about Yokai, not demons. He was curious if there was a Yokai in this world or not. And if there were, were they stronger than demons or not?

Obanai heard that, and he felt jealous, but he couldn't let it show. He acted cool and tried to keep a straight face.

"Yes. See you later, Ichigo-san." Mitsuri's face went red when she saw how handsome Ichigo was. 

As she was the Love Hashira, She couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards him.

Obanai felt wronged. He sneered before he walked away. He couldn't understand why Mitsuri always fell for the more outgoing and confident type.

Inside the interrogation room. Ichigo saw someone waiting for him.

He dressed like a member of Onmitsukido. He looked at him with sharp eyes, then he spoke.

"Please sit, I will ask you some questions to see if you are a threat or not."

Ichigo didn't speak and walked toward him, then sat on the tatami.

"Ask away." Ichigo had been dealing with Onmitsukido for almost his whole life.

He was used to the way they interrogated suspects. And he knew how to answer their questions without revealing too much information. He knew how to play their game.

The interrogator was frustrated. He knew that Ichigo had been telling the truth since the start, but he felt like something was missing, but he couldn't point it out.

"That's everything. I will ask someone to lead you to your room. Please don't leave your room before we give you further instructions."

Ichigo just nodded and waited for someone to pick him up. And it was Mitsuri again. This time without Obanai.

The interrogator was surprised that someone of high rank like Mitsuri was the one tasked with leading Ichigo. Normally, it should be someone of lower rank. 

But Mitsuri simply smiled and said, "I accept this task by myself, so you don't have to ask anyone. Let's go, Ichigo-san."

Ichigo nodded. He then followed her to his temporary room.

After they left, someone came to the interrogation room. He talked about something with the interrogator. The interrogator was very polite and respectful towards him.

"Is that so? I will speak with him."

The one who came to the interrogation room after the two had left was the Lord of the Ubayashiki's estate. Ubayashiki Kagaya. He was also the one who came upon Ichigo when he was sleeping under a wisteria tree.

He was surprised to discover him there, and the wisteria tree seemed to be glowing with an otherworldly light. It was like the tree was protecting him from any harm.

He couldn't see it, of course, but he could sense it. The tree emitted a calming energy that put him at ease.
