"Ah~ You two arrived right on time. We just finished something else."
"Hmm? Who cares about that? Why'd you drag us all the way down here… There's nothing cute about this place at all!"
Riruka Dokugamine was as hot-tempered as I remembered. Her seemingly cheerful and lighthearted demeanor was undermined by her impatience and lack of filter. She was like a cat in human form.
"Hmm? Who's that?" She said, now marching towards me, her pigtails swinging back and forth as she pushed past Urahara.
"Gah?!"
She'd taken a step in front of me and collapsed to the ground immediately, now slumped down near Grimmjow's feet.
"Eh? Get off me, woman!"
Grimmjow kicked his foot off the ground, readying his leg for a volley as Riruka's downcast eyes ignored him.
"Bastard!" Grimmjow shouted, his kick quickly cut off by a digital-like shield, large pixel-blocks deflecting his foot.
"Riruka… Get up, would you? You're embarrassing me..." Yukio sighed as the pixels slowly returned to his handheld-console.
'Oh, I forgot about his powers… Never really liked his character, anyway…'
The arc these characters were introduced was always an interesting one to read back on, but I had never liked the characters of Jackie or Yukio very much. Their abilities weren't all that impressive and their past had me yawning as I read.
'Feels pretty rude to have thoughts like that now…'
Riruka, on the other hand, was a character I found to be attractive, funny, and interesting. Though, her eyesight seemed to be as lacking as ever.
'Wait... Is it even right to have sexual relations with fictional characters?!'
I'd never thought of something like that before, but now that I was here, I was beginning to seriously reconsider my standpoint on Riruka and her well-endowed figure.
'There's more to a woman than her body, Lance!'
Despite that, my eyes couldn't help it. I was drawn to Riruka, likely because of her over the top outfit. She was lathered in pink and white as if she were a living-doll, with floppy bunny ears and tail stitched into her hoodie.
"He's so… Who are you?! What's your name?" Riruka shouted, her tone quickly shifting gear as she stuck her hand out at me.
"Lance Herscher." I said, extending my hand out to her. Oddly, she immediately swatted it away and got up on her own.
"Hmph," she gasped, crossing her arms as she averted her eyes.
'Weird… Didn't she have the same reaction when she met Ichigo? Am I as handsome as him, or something?'
I'd never been overly handsome or attractive on Earth, I was likely pretty average, but considering the crown-like horns and toned body, there was a chance I was handsome enough. There wasn't anything necessarily cute about me, though...
"Sorry about her… She gets weird around handsome guys," Yukio said, pocketing his console as he reached out.
I matched his handshake, "don't worry about it. Nice to meet you."
He didn't seem overly excited to meet me, but at least he was respectful. He did the same for Kisuke and Nelliel, too. Grimmjow swat his hand away, naturally.
"Good, very good… Enough with the exchanges, though. I am afraid we have a tight schedule we need to maintain."
"What is it you need me and Riruka for, anyway? I was quite shocked when a Soul-Reaper reached out to me..."
Kisuke wore a devilish smile on his face, "we're going to play with dimensions!"
Yukio's expression was indifferent, though I thought I could see a smile crack at the end of his mouth for a brief second. Riruka wasn't interested, though. She'd latched herself to my side for the past couple minutes, exasperated by my horns.
"These… They're so cute!" She squealed, her phone clicking away as she took photos.
"Is that necessary?" I sighed, pushing her head away as she tried getting closer.
"Hey?!"
"Don't get so close to me. You smell like a Beauty Salon."
"Hmph! Fine."
Riruka proceeded to stand behind Kisuke, now snapping photos from behind the man's robe.
"Lance! You're with me!"
To my surprise, Grimmjow shouted my name as he beckoned me, his hand gesturing through the curtain-like door.
"Ah… It was nice to meet you both," I sighed, waving at Riruka and Yukio as I got up.
Before I made my way through the door, Kisuke quickly stopped me, his Zanpakutō blocking my path. "You still have something you need to explain… Be sure to return before you vanish."
I just nodded, slightly put off by him. There wasn't a hint of anger or hostility in his voice, but I somehow felt myself sweating as I left.
'Shouldn't mess with him…'
While I hadn't explicitly messed with the man, he'd likely caught onto my schemes. He likely knew I had ulterior plans outside the scope of the Quincy Soul-Reaper war.
"Lance… We won't have much to do while Kisuke slacks off with those two… We're both gonna be trainin', got it?"
"Right!" I said, slamming my fists together as we walked towards the flattened land me and Nelliel had left. The shrieks of Riruka and sighs of Yukio soon vanished as we clashed.
[A forest, June 14th]
"How are things progressing?" A robotic, monotone voice asked. He'd begun walking in the direction of a chair in a field, surrounded by a vast forest veiled in darkness.
"Hmm? Well, the boy veered slightly off course, but nothing drastic as of yet."
"I see… All is still within the scope of our plans, then?"
"More or less… He does seem incredibly familiar with his surroundings, though… I'd have thought thrusting him into a dangerous area would slow his progress down." A soft, angelic voice responded.
"That sounds like an issue… Are we still capable of intervening?"
"If he tries harming himself, most likely. I'm afraid we can't do much else, though. We exhausted most of our supply sending him over."
"How troublesome…" The hoarse voice responded, coughing as they sat themselves down on the grass.
"You've grown old, Tir Awa…"
"Perhaps… Though, trivial issues like age shan't be of concern once we are finished."
"Ha. I suppose you've got a point there, though I'm sure your body would appreciate a break."
"Perhaps… Just keep an eye on this Lance, Cavil."
"Of course~"
The woman's voice echoed into the distance, murderous screams shrieking from the dark forest behind her.
Finally, plot has been set in motion! I've had this idea since I wrote the first chapter, and I'm glad to finally begin to expand on it. It should soon become apparant what's going on, so I wont' spoil :)
I really hope I can structure what I have in mind properly. On paper, the idea is great, but putting it into words and whatnot should be a challenge!
Let me know how you feel about it in the comments!
