Warning! Bad boy

Ryan's POV:

I never much liked the small town talk, I grew up in it. Belgrade, Montana was a 15 minute drive from Bozeman, smaller but not much different. All small towns had there small town gossipers and blabbers. It's a fact of life everyone knows everyone and what there business is.

So when I almost literally ran into little miss feisty I knew why she was frustrated. Especially coming from a church, they were all the same. She confirmed this for me when she yelled at me. But I couldn't help but see a girl that was screaming for some fun. Something was different about her, and even though I was here on a job, I wanted to find out.

I was considered the bad boy of my home town and I liked it that way. Kept people on there toes, kept them wondering. I was never one to hold back my temper but this girl, woman, Cassidy. She made feel like doin better and being a good boy for once. She interested me, it was a pull of sorts, like a prize in the box. Bad part was I was even just satisfied with trying to make her smile.

We sat at a table waiting for her to come along an take our order. The place was packed and she was running off her feet, this one grouchy woman was being a bitch.

"Hey, is that the chick y'all jus bout hit this mornin Ry," Jamie asked

"Ya, that's her," he answered.

"She's a cutie," Gary stated.

"Ya, maybe Ryan'll get lucky," Brock said laughing.

Brock was owner of B&C construction, Jamie Gary and I were part of his crew. They were bad news when it came to women though they came across as pigs.

"HEY SWEET CHEEKS YA GONNA TAKE OUR ORDER," Brock yelled out.

I looked over at him giving him a dirty look as he smiled, put the toothpick back in his teeth. I had just gotten off her bad side I didn't wanna be back on it. Suddenly I could feel her standing beside me

"Y'all ready ta order," she asked.

"Sweet pea, Iz born ready ta order," Gary said.

"Good, lets have it then," she answered him.

I let out a huffing puffy chuckle an shook my head, "fried chicken, loaded mashed and mixed beans, and a Pepsi," Brock ordered.

I tried real hard not to look up at her but it was so hard her low cut top was calling me. My eyes veered up to her and then up to her eyes "ya want gravy with that," she asked.

"Did you make tha gravy cause I'd love some a yers," Brock answered her.

I could tell her temper was rising and now I knew she hated that kind of guy. "Do I look like I make the gravy," she answered raising her eyebrow.

There it was that look now I knew she was getting angry. "I could teach ya how, sweet thang," Brock pushed more.

The boys sat laughing and I bowed my head looking at the menu. Don't piss her off boys, she's got a fire cracker side. She'll bite yer head off, in a split second.

"Thanks, I know how to, do you want some or not," she said threw her teeth.

I looked up at her again and she was holding back her temper. Of corse she was she's at work, they were torturing her and she couldn't do anything. "Sure why not," Brock answered.

"Ok, good, now you," she asked Gary.

"How about a double beef loaded, sweet fry's an coleslaw, Pepsi too, an a side of you," Gary answered.

Oh god, I closed my eyes wishing I'd not told them I was coming here. They were all going to go to the bar and grill, I could have just shut my mouth. No I had to tell em, could a said I wasn't feeling good an was gonna order room service.

"Sorry, I'm not on the menu options but gravy is want some," she snipped.

"Hell ya," Gary answered smirking.

"Good an you," she said looking at Jamie.

"I'll have the same double beef, sweet fries, coleslaw and Pepsi, gravy too," he answered.

Thank god he's been quiet, I was gonna flip shit if one more decided to be an idiot. I looked up at him and then the smirk drew across his face. "But if the Cassidy fries are available" he said.

She rolled her eyes to the ceiling, "Huuuu, Ryan" she asked me.

"Mmm," I looked up at her.

"Your order," she asked again.

"Uh, two chops, loaded mashed, mixed veggie, an Pepsi, no gravy," I answered.

"Huu, ok," she said in relief I wasn't trying to order her from the menu as something stupid. I looked at her trying for an apologetic look, it might have worked cause she gave me a small smile.

She left the table taking our order to the kitchen. Jamie leaned back putting his fist on my shoulder an shoving me. "Scaredy shit," he said.

"Ya know, that wasn't even worth it, leave the girl alone she's been threw enough taday," I said pushing his hand off me.

"Oh come on we was just havin fun" Gary stated.

"Y'all shoulda went to the bar then, hit on the waitresses there, they like it" I said.

"Dude, settle, fuck y'all almost run over her this mornin an ya think ya know er," Brock said.

"No I don't know her but you guys are just bein idiots" I replied.

"Careful boy, put ya on runnin cement tamora" Brock retaliated.

I sat back breathing out and looked down at my hands. "Fine by me Brock" I said.

"Alright, yer cement tamora then" he answered.

Cassidy came back with the drinks an she leaned over to set Brock's down. Gary looked up at her chest an I kicked em under the table. She looked down at me as she set Jamie's drink down, and then mine. She smirked at me and my fingers slipped over hers it was like magic.

She pulled her hand back and breathed out "uh, anything else Huu" she asked looking round the table.

Brock saw that whole thing and I knew for sure this was gonna be bad. His lips turned from smirk to smile then parted. "Maybe y'all could give our young Ryan here a lap dance" he said.

My eyes flicked from my glass to his in a warning to back off. But to my surprise she leaned over an looked him straight in the eye. "I'm sorry sir, you'll have ta travel ta Billings fer that one, as fer Ryan, he's a big boy, I'm sure he can use his own big boy words" was all she said. She spun around stalking back to the back.

"Ppppffff" the boys puffed out.

I just shook my head, thinning my lips together in frustration.

Our order came but the other girl brought it, I guessed Cassidy had enough of the boys. I had too for one night, they were being shits. Although they kept up with the jabs at me, "come on man go get her number, she's a cat, bet she is in bed too" Brock poked.

I shook my head downing the rest of my Pepsi after finishing my food. Looking over at the clock that read 7:35 pm. Most of the dinner had cleared out and we were sitting back now finally talking about the job.

"Still gotta weeks worth of building frame an then two of the rest" Brock informed.

"This is a big job, they putting some kind of store in or something" Jamie asked.

"Nope, a hair salon I heard" Brock answered.

"Ha, there's a good spot for pickin up chicks hey Ry, bet yer lil feisty queen'll be on top that" Gary quipped.

"Huuu Gary she's not mine ok, gees you guys" I said.

"Oh come on ya wanna tap that don't lie" Brock said.

I looked over at him tired of the bull being passed around. I shook my head and stood up from my chair to go to the washroom. "Where ya goin, flog yer log" Jamie asked.

"Huuu" I couldn't even be part of this anymore.

Turning to walk to the washroom I didn't see her coming with the dish bucket and ran into her. My hands gripped hers helping her steady the bucket "shit sorry" I breathed out in surprise.

"Huu, you just have a thing fer runnin in ta me don't ya" she said looking exhausted.

"Apparently, ya ok, didn't hurt ya did I" I asked her.

"Naw, I'm fine" she answered.

"Ok, Ima let go now" I said suddenly dizzy from contact.

"Hm, ok" she said confused a bit.

Before I could I could hear the blabby talk of the guys. She shook her head and moved around me taking the dishes from our table. Walking towards the bathroom I grabbed a napkin remembering I had a pen in my pocket. Stepping in the bathroom I held the napkin in my hand and wrote my cell number on it.

If she was interested at all I was gonna leave it in her hands to do anything about it. She was different than other girls I've met and wouldn't give her number up that easy. Besides I wasn't so sure she didn't still hate me for almost running her over this morning.

I finished in the bathroom and washed my hands then walked out.  Finding her talking to the other girl behind the counter. Walking over to the front of the counter to pay for my food, the guys thankfully outside smoking.

"The one guy paid fer ya," she said looking over at me.

"Oh, alright then, did he tip," I asked hoping he didn't.

"Naw, ha, take it he's a bit of a cheep ass," she said turning to lean on the counter.

"Ya, hm, here," I pulled change and the napkin outta my pocket to give to her.

Relieved that he is such a cheep ass, and that she put her hand out to take it. "Thanks," she said frowning.

"Um, there is a garbage can ya know, ya don't have ya give me yer garbage," she stated and threw the napkin in the can by her feet.

I closed my eyes and smirked, "huuu, sorry, must have been with the change," I said deflated she threw it out before looking.

"Hey y'all should come ta the bar with me an Daniel," the other girl stated.

"Shannon, I've had a long day I'm goin home," Cassidy said.

"Awe come on, ya never come out any more," the other girl Shannon said.

"I don't feel like it, an with Jake on the loose, it's not a good idea," she said.

"Who's Jake yer boyfriend," I asked hopping not.

"Jake is her ex an he's a freakin killer, abuser and an absolute ass," Shannon said.

"Shut up," Cassidy gasped giving her that death look.

"Ah, not good," I said.

"Ha, yeah, anyway, we're closin up right away, did ya need somethin else," she asked.

"Na, I'm good," I said feeling like my time was done.

"Alright, good," she said slight smile on her lips.

Shannon got this look of epiphany on her face then spoke up excitedly. "Hey you should ask him ta watch yer back while ya take tha garbage out back, ya know protection," she blurted.

"I'll be fine," she said angry.

"I can do that, I don't mind," I said trying to take her friends idea.

"Huuuu, fine, meet me around back," she said.

"Ok," I said.

She turned to the kitchen and disappeared, I winked at Shannon who gave me a beaming smile of your welcome. I smiled back and took off out the front door as she followed to lock it behind me. The guys were still out front laughing and hooting.

"Gee what ya do take er in the bathroom," Brock asked.

"No," I said.

"Where ya goin," he asked.

"Help with garbage, you guys go a head I'll catch up with ya later," I said.

"Oooohhhhhh dark back parking lot, AAAAOOOWWW," Gary teased.

I shrugged it off rolling my eyes and turned into the back ally for the back of the cafe. Seeing the door open a crack I walked towards it trying to make as much noice as I could so I didn't scare her. "Hey," I said.

She opened the door more and stuck the shim in to hold it open, grabbing bags as an older lady threw them at the door. "Aaaah Beth, damn it woman," she said.

The older woman laughed at her and then when she saw me her eyebrows lifted and then she looked at Cassidy. Cassidy shook her head at the woman who looked me up and down with a smirk on her face. "I'm Beth," she said stepping out.

"Ryan, construction an security now, ha," I laughed out.

She chuckled, and shook my hand as Cassidy rolled her eyes taking the garbage to the bin. I decided it would be a good idea to help her and grabbed a few bags. Lifting them with ease and they were the bigger ones from the back. Cassidy turned around and stopped watching me, then lifted the bin lid.

"Thank ya, fer helpin," she said.

I threw them in and then slid my hands in my pockets. "Yer welcome, gotta make up fer almost runnin ya over," I said.

Still trying to get on her good side, and trying to figure how to get her my number. "Hm, go grab tha rest an will talk," she said smirking.

The soft glow of the light in the back made her look so beautiful. I bowed my head smiling "alright," I said.

I walked over to the door again and when I turned around her eyes were on me. She was biting her bottom lip and starring at me. That was my cue, I bent over grabbing the other big bags. They were heavy enough my muscle bulged lifting them.  I grabbed the two other small ones too, then made my way back. She lifted the lid again and I tossed them in like they were nothing.

Think she may have been impressed cause her eyebrows raised. She made a move with her lips and head as if to say impressive. "There all done," I said.

"Thank ya," she said with a smile.

"Huu, so we're even now, no more, hard feelins," I said hopeful.

"Hmhm, even," she said holding her hand out.

I took her hand and that spark that was there earlier was still there. Warm and fuzzy feeling, her hands were so soft and smooth. Just as she was about to pull away something made a noise in the back alley and she jumped closer. Her hand slipping onto my bicep and my hand landed on her hip.

I moved in front of her, making her hand slip around to my side and she stood close. I peered into the dim light of the lot and a cat came running past. Slowly I turned around and she hugged me, "hey, hey it was just a cat, it's ok," I said in reassurance.

"Hoooo, I'm sorry," she said burrowing her face in my chest.

Wrapping my arms around her to stop her from shaking, it felt so good. "It's ok, he's got ya terrified don't he," I asked.

She looked up at me with sad eyes "huuu, he's been involved in a murder, I don't know what he's capable of any more," she said.

"It's ok, I'm right here," I said.

Placing my hand on her head pulling her in tighter, other hand on her lower back. "Huuu, I um, I should get back in," she said moving away.

"Yeah um, right," I said.

She looked up into my eyes and I couldn't help it, I was star struck. I leaned down closer, the pull like a vortex to her lips. Nearly touching the back door opened and she pulled away completely. "Well, huuu, thank you again fer yer help," she said.

Me wincing from her pulling away, I was so close to kissing her. Millimetres away, and the older lady and Shannon had to come out. "Hey you two y'all gonna come fer some drinks, Daniel'll be here right away, it'll be fuuuuun," Shannon asked again.

"Uh, naw Shan, Ima go home I'm exhausted," Cassidy replied.

"Yer such a party pooper," Shannon said and went around the corner to the front.

"Good night honey bun," the older lady Beth said.

"Night Beth, see ya tomorrow," Cassidy answered.

She got in her car and backed up then drove off around the building. "Well, I guess I should, go, to," Cassidy stated.

I slid my hands in my pockets again, "ya, me too I suppose, I gotta couple blocks ta walk," I said.

"Yer walkin," she asked.

"Yeah, the guys went a head," I said.

"Yer at the hotel," she asked.

"Ya," I replied.

"I'll drop ya off, its on my way," she said.

"Ya sure, I can walk," I said, trying to be cautious.

"Like hell, its barley lit down that street I'll give ya a ride come on," she said.

We walked to her car, and she unlocked her doors. I tried to fold my long legs into the compact car. She looked over at me and giggled, "the seat dose move," then she laughed.

"Hm, I figured it would that's pretty standard on vehicles," I said chuckling.

"Smart ass, don't touch my seat now," she giggled out.

"Well aright jus don't hit anythin cause it may hurt," I said smiling.

She rolled her eyes and took a smoke outta her centre console. As she looked around for her lighter I smiled shaking my head. Lifted up and got mine out and sparked it. She looked over at me and the flame danced in her eyes. The colour contouring her lips. Damn I wanted to kiss them, if her coworkers wouldn't have came out I woulda.

She rolled down her window and put the car in revers as I put my buckle on. Taking out a Marlboro and lit it sucking it back. I leaned my head back on the head rest as she pulled out on the street. Turning her CD on, and turning it up, tapping her fingers on the wheel. Bad boy by Miranda Lambert was the tune and it was almost like a song for me.

I watched her as the lights flickered by lighting her skin. Rolled the window down and flicked my ash out the window and to my surprise she started singing with the song. Her voice was amazing too, and then I was more sure the song was for me. "Bad boy, driving me mad boy

I've got it bad boy, for you, Bad boy, maybe it's, a bad choice, I've got it bad boy for you," she sang.

The song ended and I had goose bumps, man she was amazing. "You should be a singer" I said.

"Ha ha, nooo, I hate crowds," she laughed flicking her smoke out the window.

"What, yer a waitress," I said cocking my head.

"Ya, an it's not the same as singing in front of people," she said.

"I guess but you have an amazing voice," I said.

"Pppfff, it's not that great," she said.

"Are you kidding me," I said.

"No, I don't think it is," she said.

"My god yer, Huu, yer smart, pretty an ya can sing, y'all got talent," I stated.

She peeked over at me, then back at the street, flicking her blinker on to turn into the hotel lot.  She was surprising me even more, and my heart was skipping because of it. "What's yer room," she asked.

"Uh, 305," I answered.

"Oh that's right here, outside room nice," she said pulling up to it.

"Yeah," I said.

She parked and sat holding the wheel, she was thinking of what to say. Just when I thought she was gonna say something more about singing she surprised me even farther. "Huu, look about earlier, behind the cafe, um," she started but stopped.

"I won't tell anyone about the cat ha," I chuckled, smiling.

"Well, thanks but, I, uh," she ran her hands down onto her legs and rubbed them up and down. "You we're gonna kiss me, an I just, huuu, I'm not ready fer that, or anything yet, I'm still getting past the last one," she said.

"Never happened, k, don't worry bout it, it's no big deal," I said.

She looked over at me and frowned, "no big deal" she said.

"Ya I mean, it's, it is what it is, an I won't push ya on it" I said.

Her frown deepened an she looked at the door of my room. "Ok, um, huuuu, well then, I uh, guess I'll um, see ya tomorrow, if ya come fer coffees" she said.

"Ya, alright, see ya tomorrow" I said.

I opened the door to get out, but her hand landed on my forearm. "Ryan" she said.

"Ya" I said, looking back at her.

"Thank you" she said.

I smiled at her, "welcome" I said with a nod an got out.

Stepped up on the side walk an unlocked the door with the help of her headlights before she backed up and drove off. I turned the lights on and shut the door, locking it. Peeling my shirt off I walked for the bathroom to take a shower. Needing a relax after the day of getting screamed at and then thanked and confused almost first kiss.
