The Road To The Finals!

Of course, it had to be an old friend, a high-potential weapon, an excited father and a promise to fulfill.

I was now standing on the blue side, the doors just about to open. The host was talking something outside which I was unable to hear. And then the doors slid open. I was introduced to the crowd. On the other side, my opponent, Steve Brown walked up to the stadium to take his position. When I reached the stadium, the referee marched to the center. We both didn't talk but just showed off our weapons when the referee intervened. "Are both of you ready?" He enquired. We both nodded together and the battle began.

Steve rushed towards me with his hammer. He looked like the big bosses in video games rushing towards you, a small but heroic character. I grabbed Magnum and got ready for impact. His hammer swept me even with Magnum defending me. I fell to the ground but got up immediately.

I applied force and hit Steve head. A line of my blade appeared on his head, which he didn't like. He hammered me with all his strength and I understood that I should do the best thing I do, run. (Dodge was a better word)

Steve was hitting all the obstacles I was hiding behind and soon, there was lack of obstacles. I was trying to remember the promise I made to Oliver which was the only thing that still kept me alive and forcing me to try again.

At last, I had to surrender to Magnum's power. I closed my eyes in between the battle which was dangerous as Steve was rushing towards me with his hammer. Everything went black. I could hear Magnum's voice. "He is just about fight. Strategize! Climb on top of him and pierce on his back." Magnum explained.

I opened my eyes and saw the furious Steve right in front of me, about to hammer me to bits. I quickly bent and he missed. I went behind him but he was also quick. He turned and tried hammering me again.

I needed to climb on his back. I realized the obstacle nearest to me was a group of sacks kept together, the ones which are kept during wars, using by soldiers as defense.

I quickly ran to those sacks, Steve following. I pretended to hide behind the sack. Realizing that, Steve hammered the sacks. That's when he got super close to me. I quickly climbed the sacks and jumped on Steve who was trying to hammer them. I grabbed his back and settled there. Like a mad buffalo, he writhed. He tried to shake me off but I kept tight. I summoned Magnum's power. I again glowed and struck Magnum on Steve's back.

He immediately fell on the ground and got resurrected soon enough after that. I was lying on the ground, tired, when the referee announced, "Steve Brown is unable to battle. The winner is Blaze Hunt which means he is up against Oliver Jones in the Finals!" Cheers went up for me.

I looked up and noticed Rock Flames, in his room, with the same expression as he gave to Oliver. I looked around and found my father standing up and clapping. I looked on the board on top which showed that tomorrow was the finals between me and Oliver.

I recognized my true power. Strategy and Bond make a warrior succeed, I thought. I was so happy that tears rolled down my cheek. You would be like, come on, Blaze! Be a man! But the hardships and practice I had gone through was intense. I couldn't believe that out of thousands of people, I was the chosen one. And was it a coincidence that my best friend, Oliver was the other finalist? I don't think so.

Whatever had happened before, I wiped my tears and got up. I knew a big fight was ahead.
