CHAPTER 25

"Mel" I heard Jace voice

"Mel"

I groaned and turned mumbling words I didn't understand myself

"Mel" he was now shaking me

"Go away"

Could this boy leave me alone?

All I want right now was to live in this bed forever

Wait, what? Bed? I though we were outside? Was there a bed outside?

"Mel, wake up"

Wake up?

I jerked up. I looked around and saw what looked like the bedroom I slept in

"Where am I?" I asked Jace

"In your bedroom. You slept off and I didn't want to wake you up so, I carried you"

"You carried me?"

"Yeah. Don't worry, you were rather light. Are you malnourished?" he asked

I slapped his hand and he laughed

"I guess more than the rest of the half sleep you had came and took over" he said standing from crouching beside my bed

I tried to look out the window but, I guess Jace had pressed the button

"What's the time?" I asked

I could have slept for long

"After four"

"Four? In the afternoon?"

"No, four the next morning"

I shot him a glare

"You are saying I slept from seven this morning till after four in the afternoon?"

"Is anything bad there? You needed sleep"

"For eight hours? After sleeping in the night?"

"Well, I did tell you more than the rest of your sleep came back. Come on" he said removing the covers from me

"What?" I asked

"Let's go down"

"Why?"

As baffled as I was, I still didn't want to leave the bed

"We can't stay here" he said

"Why? What's wrong with staying here?" I asked

He sat on the bed, put his hands on my side of the bed and started leaning in. As I was leaned back, my head touch the head rest and my breathing started to rise as how close we were

"Let's just say that me being in this room alone with you can be dangerous but, don't worry. If you still want to stay, your wish is my command" he said slowly still leaning in

I pushed him away and got off the bed

"Let's go down" I said without looking at him but before I could walk through the door, he dragged me to him, circled his hand on my waist and kissed me

"Let's go" he said, took my hand and led us downstairs

"Are you hungry?" he asked

"I just woke up after eating so, I don't think -" I was interrupted by my stomach

Jace chuckled

"You may have be sleeping but, the worms in your stomach weren't"

I scrunched my nose at the mention of worms in my stomach

"Don't blame me, I was just speaking Biology" he said raising his hands mid air

"Are you going to cook?" I asked him

"Of course"

"You cook normal meal?" I asked him

"Is it only me or do you just seemed baffled?"

"You've never cooked normal food. I always had to eat unhealthy food anytime I visited you" I complained

"That was because it was convenient" he explained

"So what about now" I asked him with my arms folded

"Well, it will take forever for ordered food to reach this place and that's by the way. I can't order food to this place. It's my private house, remember?"

"Wow. So I was eating those type of food because they were convenient for you?" I asked him

"Which is why I'm going to make it up to you by making a food that will forever change your taste buds"

"For better or for worse?" I asked

He looked at me with squinted eyes

"Don't blame me, I was just asking a question" I mimicked his action with a scoffed then walked over to the counter

"Just so you know," I said sitting down, "if it's for worse, I will make sure you can't even use your mouth at all" I threatened

"How come I always believe your threat even though they don't seemed possible?" he asked while I just smiled

"So, what are you cooking? Pasta?" I asked

"Nah, we've been eating pasta lately and if we aren't careful, we might start growing pasta out of our heads" he said

"So, what are you making?"

"Well, it's might look or sound normal but, it's gonna be wonderful"

"Sure it is" I said

He scoffed

"I'm making a dish with potato" he said

"What dish?"

"Something" he said

"I'm staying here anyways so, just tell me"

"No, you aren't. You are staying in the sitting room"

"What will I be doing?"

"You do realize that there is something called a TV in the living room, right?"

"I don't watch TV"

"Well, there's a first time for everything"

He held my shoulders and ushered me into the living room

"Jace"

"Shh"

"Then why did you wake me up, then?"

"Because I had to come down and I wanted you to be close to me" he said

"What?" I turned to look at me

He turned me back and sat me on the long couch

"Just stay here, okay"

"Jace ..."

"Please?" he asked

"Fine" I signed

"But, that food had better be worth it or I'm ripping you apart" I told him waving a finger at him

"Sure thing" he said

He brought the remote to me, kissed my head and left to the kitchen

For two minutes, I just stared at the TV. For the next five minute, I browsed on what to watch. For once, I didn't want to watch anything that had to do with action, crime or law. When I finally saw something that sparked my interest, Wedding Party, I played it. It was an African movie, Nigeria to be specific. It was a comedy and romance movie but, apart from that, it also looked interesting

I laughed for the uncountable time today. I chose a very good movie, it was so funny, interesting and captivating that I did little to fight the urge of going to see the thing that made a sweet smell in my nose. I guess Jace's meal was going to be okay but that could wait, this movie was killing me. Although subtitles were put for words that weren't English, the way the words were said made it funny. Especially from this particular woman who is the bride's mother

I laughed again

"What are you watching that you've been laughing your intestines out" Jace asked

"A very interesting movie. Are you done?" I paused the movie, I didn't want to miss any part of the movie

"Yep. Should I bring it here or should we go to the dining?"

"Here, please. I want to continue the movie"

"Okay then, I guess the movie must be really interesting" Jace said as he went to bring the food

"What's is it about?" he asked after he had brought the drinks

"Well, I'm not good at summarizing movie but, in summary, it's just about a woman from a culture marrying a man from a different culture. Everyone is coll about it but the mothers seem to be at each other's neck. The groom to be also still has a bachelor spirit or something like that"

"You are right, never summarize a movie" he told me

I scoffed at me

He went to bring the food

"What the title?"

"Wedding party"

I looked at the dished and gasped

"Potato omelets?" I asked

"Uh huh" he said

"Wow, this was unexpected"

"Taste it"

I took the fork, placed a small portion on it and put it in my mouth. I looked at Jace

"Better or worse" he asked with a smile

I smiled back

"Great" I replied

"Told you so"

He sat beside me and I resumed the movie

"That was amazing" Jace said and I agreed

Both the movie and the meal were amazing. Having something wonderful along with an excellent movie was amazing indeed. Jace carried the plates and went to the kitchen while I put off the TV and carried the cups following him

"Let me wash it" I told him

"No way" he said

"You prepared the food .."

"And I'll also be the one to wash the dished, thank you" he said

"Fine"

I didn't really want to argue right now so, I just sat at the counter

Jace checked his phone when it started ringing and all peaceful and happy look left his face

*What was wrong now?*
