The week after going through stuff that has gone by, time starts to fly as graduation is fast approaching. Students walking in and out of their respective classrooms as they go on with their normal day.
Furthermore, they noticed new info from the School Bulletin Board that the Final Exam was moved to the end of the month which is tomorrow. As expected, some students were chill about it while others panicked or died figuratively on the inside.
As classes began to be lessened due to the sudden change of schedule, students were packing their papers and notes as they hope for the best in the upcoming exam.
Meanwhile, Emily got back home, ate dinner with her mom and aunt, changed her clothes, and proceeded to her room as she began to review for the exam. However, five minutes have passed and she's already slumped over her work table exhausted after reading a few of her notes.
Then there was a knock on the door. Knock. Knock. Emily quickly sat up and wiped her eyes as she held one of her notes as she pretended to read and replied, "Come in."
Her mom slowly opened the door, peeked through it, and saw her daughter reading through her notes.
"You sure you're taking this seriously?" she asked,
"Yep. I'm concentrating as you said," Emily replied while grabbing another paper and jotting down some pointers,
"Well, you better be. I don't want to see another 'F' in one of your test papers." her mom reminded her,
"Don't worry, Mom. I won't let that happen like last time." Emily replied,
"Okay then," her mom said, "If you're hungry, there are some leftovers in the fridge."
"Thanks, Mom."
"You're welcome. Study well."
"I will,"
As her mom closed the door, Emily dropped her papers and slumped her head on the work table as she let out a sigh of relief.
'Even though I want to rest, I gotta make sure I pass this exam,' she thought, 'At least nothing bad has happened so far,'
Seconds ticked by and so far nothing else happened. Emily exhaled deeply as she sat back up, seeing a strand of her hair dangling in front of her, she blew it back into her hair as she picked up her papers and began to study.
About an hour had passed, she is walking around her room reading her notes on one hand while holding a cup of coffee on the other. Another hour had passed, she is on her work table jotting down more notes and reading them with her glasses.
At one point, she suddenly dozed off but when she hit her head on the table, she woke up, blinked her eyes as she wiped off the saliva drooling on the side of her mouth, and went back to reading on her notes.
It is already around 11 in the evening and she is packing up her notes and putting them inside her bag as she went out to brush her teeth before climbing to her bed and quickly dozed off.
The very next day, as Emily is walking in the school hallways, she noticed that there are students who are seen quietly walking towards their classrooms, holding their notes and reviewing before the bell rings. Emily just shrugged and continued walking.
As she walks into her classroom, she could see her classmates huddled together and helping each other review for the exam. Emily slowly walked up to the back of the room and sat down on her seat.
She exhaled deeply as she took out her notes from her bag and began reading her notes. Then, someone tapped on her shoulder. Emily looked up and saw her classmate, Jessica, beside her.
"What's up?" Emily asked,
"Can I borrow some of your notes for a while, please?" Jessica replied, "I just want to make sure I got everything memorized before the bell rings."
"Did you forget to bring your notes again?" Emily asked,
"Hehe. Yeah. That's kinda my fault." Jessica said,
Emily reached into her bag and handed Jessica a blue portfolio. "The subject names are here. Just take what you need and be sure to give it back coz I need them."
"Thanks a lot!" Jessica said as she opened the portfolio and flipping through the pages as she grabbed the subjects she was looking for. She handed the blue portfolio back to Emily and went back to her seat. "I'll give these back to you later."
"Sure," Emily said, reading her notes.
Five minutes later, the school bell rang. BRRRRIIIIIIIIINNNNGGGGGG!!!!!! Teachers walked in and students stopped what they're doing and went back to their respected seats. Then the students made sure their notes were in the bag as they all placed them in front of the room leaving only their writing materials.
As the teachers distributed the questionnaire and the answer sheets face down to the students, they explained the rules to them for a while. About a minute had passed and the teachers told the students to begin. They all flipped the papers over and began to take their test.
Then the room is now silent. All they can hear is the sound of their clock as seconds ticked by. Their minds are focused on the tests they are taking as they are writing and erasing their answers just hoping that they could pass.
A few minutes have passed and there are still some students that are taking the test while some who have finished, quietly handed their questionnaire and answer sheets to the teacher in front, and went back to their seats to take a short nap before the next one later.
It is already a quarter to the time limit and students are rushing to finish their answers and scanning through the pages as they checked their answers over and over. Meanwhile, Emily was just chill as she wrote down her answers in her answer sheets as quickly as possible.
By the time the clock hits twelve noon, the teachers said, "Pass your papers forward,"
Students did what they're told and handed their papers but Emily is still 3 questions away to finishing the paper. She quickly read through them all and answered as fast as she could and just before the teacher could call out her name, Emily handed the questionnaire and answer sheets forward. She let out a huge sigh of relief as she stretched her arms knowing that the day is over.
