Chapter 9: Fired.

Lily stared straight into the eyes of Sam that were filled with anger and hatred for her.

Lily held his necktie and pulled him closer placing a kiss on his lips then moved away quickly to see his angered face. His eyes were shot red in anger and his mind screamed him to kill her right there but heart said something else.

He wiped his lips with tissue like he touched something dirty and spoke in his coldest tone while giving off the killer aura.

"I believe no one would like if the young miss of Shengs is kicked out by the guards. I respect your old man, that's why you're still standing here."

Lily chuckled and went closer to him and bent down to his level which he didn't like. "I'm still standing here because I have the capability and you know what, Mr. Andres, I can even make you bow down to me."

Sam's frown deepened hearing her but she stood up before he took action. Her face was cold as ever as she walked away without turning back at him.

For some odd reason he felt a sting of pain in his heart as she packed her things and walked out of his office. He wanted to ignore the pain but it was too strong to be ignored easily.

He felt as if he was losing a part of himself as she disappeared from his sight.

Lily sat at the dining table outside in the backyard as she worked on her laptop and sipped on her coffee.

She was wearing a simple outfit consisting of white shorts and loose light pink tshirt. Her hairs were tied in two half up half down ponytail giving off cute vibe. A pair of reading glasses were resting on her nose.

In her past life, she had vision problems which got severe after she was diagnosed with PTSD so she was careful of her vision in this lifetime even though the original Lily did not have any eyesight problem.

Lily checked the time in her mobile and picked her mobile to dial a number.

A firm yet cheerful voice of a man rang on the other side of the call after the second ring. "Hey, Xiao Li." Lily's lips curved down hearing the name. "Don't call me that unless you want me to chop your head."

A chuckle was heard on the other line to which Lily frowned deeper. She decided to ignore it and not ruin her mood.

"I just read Astro Designing and Firm are facing loss. Hope you know what to do", she said in a firm tone as she scrolled through some business articles in her laptop. Her eyes scanned all the important points of the article.

"Yeah, I know what you mean", said the man on the other line in a serious tone. "Good."

Just as Lily was about to hang up, the guy spoke. "Lily, when do you plan on..." She cut him off and spoke in an unhappy tone, "I don't like it when someone pokes in my personal matters. You should know this better than anyone else, Long Bocheng."

"Aye? Why are you being like this? Don't you trust me now?", He asked in a teasing way but she wasn't someone to get teased by a mere man. "I don't trust my own family let alone you."

With being said that, Lily hung up the call and stared at her laptop blankly.

While on the other side, Long Bocheng frowned unhappily and gripped the pen in his hand tightly. He was the second son of China's one of the richest family and among the richest in the world but Lily did not give him any face.

"I'll let you off because I love you but I'll make you pay for sure", he murmured under his breath as he gritted his teeth.

"I heard you were fired", said the old Master Sheng calmly as he picked a shrimp and in the bowl of Lily to which she nodded. "Eat more. You don't need to diet like the other women. You're capable enough to flatter a man with you qualities."

Lily couldn't help but let out a light chuckle of ridicule as she remembered her past life.

She was told to lose weight as she was fat but her face was like that of a baby. Her mom always scolded her to lose weight and would ask her to eat less but given her sweet tooth she couldn't resist eating sweets.

"It's good that he fired you. That bastard has gotten too arrogant now", said the old man making Lily look up in surprise. She thought he would be disappointed in her but the case was exact opposite, he was siding with her?

Is this real? Or a dream?

"You can join Sheng Corporation tomorrow", he spoke further when he got no response from her. Lily thought for a while before she asked, "What would be my salary?"

The old man was intrigued when he heard her question. Out of everything she asked this?

"I know you would keep me as finance advisor so I didn't ask you what I'd be doing", she cleared his doubt before he asked impressing him more. The old man gave a nod of approval and continued eating.

"May I know why that little bastard fire you?", he asked in an interested tone. He wanted to know what his precious granddaughter did to the calmest yet so dangerous man to have him fire her on her fourth day at work.

A smirk spread across her lips as she thought of the kiss and his reaction. She loved to tease him.

"Nothing, just tested the beast", she said in a calm tone. The old man looked at his grand daughter and felt something different. In the past three years, he had never seen her eyes so bright like this.

The old man chuckled and continued eating while Lily had a smile on her face the entire time.

"No, don't hit her. Please let her go. Don't beat her", Lily cried in her sleep as sweat beads formed on her forehead and heart raced faster than ever. Her eyes clenched shut tightly as her body shivered.

Lily sat up with a jolt and started panting while staring at the wall in front of her. Her heart was beating too fast. She kept her hand on her chest and calmed herself.

"It's just a nightmare, Lily. Calm down", she told herself and rubbed her chest as she resisted herself from getting a panic attack.

Lily took a remote from the drawer of the bedside table and pressed a button pointing at her potrait. She typed a code on the remote and the potrait pictures immediately changed to a different picture.

The picture was of none other than Samuel Andres where he had a poker face as always. It was a candid photograph she took and uploaded on her social media handle in her past life.

Somehow she logged into those accounts and got their picture together which she took. She managed to recover her old email ID when she was in UK but couldn't get the entire backup. After recovering half the things she logged out of those IDs to avoid being suspecious.

Lily kept her palm on the photograph and closed her eyes. After a couple seconds, she opened her eyes when she calmed down and stared at his picture as she pouted.

"You don't like when I kiss you now?", she asked like an angry child and pouted cutely.

She sighed when she got no answer and rested her head on the picture as she caressed his face. "I miss you, baby. Do you miss me too?"

She felt a sting of pain on the left side of her chest as she spoke. It was normal for her since the past few years. Whenever she did not let out her tears she would feel extreme pain in her chest during her trauma attacks.

A smile spread on her lips as she remembered the first time they met.

It was one of the most funny yet annoying moment for her.
