Prologue

My name is Cemilan, and if there is one thing that I regret, it's my weakness.

To think that I would be forced into this complex situation.

I'm so very afraid and so very regretful of everything in my life, even that I was ever born.

If only I wasn't such a coward. If only I was born as someone strong of heart, I wouldn't be here now.

I despise my existence.

I wish I could end everything, right now, yet even my own life is no longer under my control.

To think I would have to serve the 'Dark One', but who would have guessed that the 'Dark One' would be so beautiful.

And yet so very cruel.

I came to the castle in a small carriage.

It was hard to describe the castle. It was both beautiful and terrifying, almost as if it was alive; hidden away up in the mountains on a mysterious island somewhere in the southern continent.

Thinking back on what had transpired, there was something that I could never figure out, it always bugged me. No matter how much I tried I couldn't remember who had driven the carriage; sometimes as I thought about it, I felt that perhaps, there was never a driver.

Yet the more puzzling question was that I couldn't recall how I came to be on this island. All my memories of those weeks simply vanished.

Shortly after arriving in founding myself standing before the great doors of the castle.

The doors of castle creaked open. I stepped inside. I was surprised to see, there was no one here.

Looking around I was taken aback in shock by the appearance of the castle. I turned round and round in the great foyer, Confused and captivated by the grandeur and vast difference from the inside to out.

The castle walls appeared as if they were built yesterday but the inside was decrepit and had fallen into disrepair, yet the air about castle carried a mysterious appeal.

I turned once more, taking in the sights. A powerful gust struck me from behind. I turned to face the stairwell that led inside. A beautiful woman walked down from the top of the stairs.

She wore men's clothing in long black leather jacket. Her skin dark and tanned, beautiful figure both slender and yet voluptuous. Her white hair was long and matted, tied into a long braid that reached past her waist.

"Welcome to my castle, Castle Padure Adormita; you will know me as the Dark One."
