Chapter 3: She’s Awake

"Huhh!" She slowly opened her eyes. The brightness of the light blinded her so she involuntarily

closed her eyes again "Good afternoon, princess!" She was startled and quickly opened her eyes.

Finding no one in the room, she felt a chill down on her spine.

'What the heck!'

"Princess, I can't come home early this evening. Don't worry, I will check on you the moment I

got home. Wake up soon, princess."

'Oh, so it was an intercom'. Her fear started to disappear. After laying there not moving for

some time she felt thirsty. Looking around the room, she saw a jar of water placed on the table near the

glass door. She stands up and tried to walk but stumbled on her feet. She looked around the room the

second time. Not familiar at all. She tried to stand again but failed. After the nth time trying, she finally

able to stand. Walking was her second problem. She finds it hard to stand, what about walking? She

feels so weak.

'I can do this'. She told herself and tried to take a step. On her second, she fell again. She

accidentally knocked the vase beside her which made a loud noise.

"F*#k!", She cuss in no time.

"Madam, you're awake! Why did you try to stand?" A woman, she believed having an age

around 40's, came in. She looked perturbed after looking at her in that state.

She helped her go back in the bed before pressing the button beside her bed.

"Madam, is there something you need?", she asked her in a very respectful voice.

"Water". Her voice is hoarse. She even found it disturbing. The woman quickly handed her a glass of water. She tried to gulf the water in her hands but it

ended up being coughed by her. It was so painful.

After wiping her mouth by a handkerchief that was handed by the woman, a man wearing a

white t shirt and a denim walked in with a stethoscope in his hands.

"Doctor". 'So, he is doctor.'

"Jane, you're awake! How are you feeling? Do you feel any pain? Tell me, when did you wake up?" She was bombarded with questions. After getting no answer from her, he looked at the woman

who first entered the room.

"Doctor, I found her on the floor, I think she tried to walk", the woman explained.

"Really! But Jane, you just woke up, you should not try to stand yet." He looked at her with

amusement. "Let me check your pulse first. Mind letting me hold your hand?"

She's disappointed that why she didn't talk. She thought he was the one talking on the intercom

awhile back but hearing his voice, she knew it wasn't him.

"Damn! I almost forgot to inform him", he said after getting her pulse. He quickly retrieved a phone from his pocket and called someone.

"Javier, she's awake".
