Suspicious Circumstances

While we were waiting for sunset, Kujo said "maybe you should focus on cultivating, you'll increase your CP and should have a higher degree of perception than you had the first time you tried.

I have a bad feeling here and you can monitor the area with your spiritual awareness while I do my own form of gathering intel."

Taking Kujo's advice I sat up and activated my Spirit Cultivation technique. This time I became aware of the Spiritual Energy throughout the entire village. I could sense every cultivator their state of

mind and intent. Red seemed to mark those who were aggressive, blue melancholy, green at peace, yellow happy, and orange fear. The majority of the pack seemed to be mainly hues of greens and yellows. Then one panther's spirit energy seemed to be full of a red malice color. And of course, it was Ling Ji who wasn't in seclusion as he should be. I know that he's up to something. I hope Kujo being my system gives us some type of psychic link.

"Kujo I'm not sure if you can hear me but Ling Ji is up to something. Kujo are you there! Kujo!"

"Damn woman, how is it you can shout with even your thoughts. Yes we are linked and I can see the location through your mind, I'm approaching now."

"Wait you can hear my thoughts?" I said while blushing internally.

"Only the ones you want me to hear. Even better we can share more than just thoughts but images too."

All of sudden I started to witness a scene of a chiseled man with rock hard...

"Kujo you asshole stop putting that shit in my head!"

Ling Ji was looking over the surface of a lake, muttering something to himself. "I know, I know I'm supposed to keep a low profile before we execute the plan. It's just that bitch...." Ling Ji looked as if he was being scolded by something or someone. "Fine, you're right I screwed up, but Ojisan doesn't suspect a thing. As far he knows I just got a little overzealous in my pursuit of love."

Overzealous, you call trying to rape someone overzealous. I'll show this bastard overzealous when I remove his pathetic jewels with a swipe of my claws.

"Speaking on that, if it is acceptable to you...fine I'll get to the point. When the plan goes through I would like to have her as my concubine. Oh, thank you, thank you oh great one, this servant shall not disappoint."

Ling Ji then swiped the surface of the water looking around for any prying eyes. He then walked back to where he should have been during his cultivating seclusion.

"Mishi I'm coming back."

Kujo arrived shortly thereafter. "Kujo we need to tell Ojisan about this right away, I think Ling is planning some type of coup."

We headed over to Ojisan's location. Two guard panthers were blocking the way before we could reach him.

"I do apologize champion, but the elder can't be disturbed while he prepares for meeting the goddess."

"You don't understand I have something of grave importance to tell him. It concerns the safety of this pack."

"Worry not little one, when it is time for you to depart, you will see him. Any disturbance during the ceremony could be dangerous to the elder, so, please understand."

"Fine!"

I walked away while muttering to myself "I can't stand to be talked down to like a child, that bastard!"

" To be fair you were just born less than a week ago!"

"Kujo!"

"Yes"

"Not helping!"

"Damn you're moody, oh, right you're in heat. Hormones can be a bitch."

"Kujo!"

"Alright, alright, don't get all time of the month on me. Anyway, what the guard said was true. It's almost dusk. Just give the old man some time to get ready. We can tell him then. Besides, I don't think whatever Ling is planning is going to happen just yet."

"Fine, I'll wait. Keep bringing up this whole heat crap, and I'll show you how true of a bitch I can be!"

"Thank goddess I was born a man, or do I even have a gender, I am just a system after all. Who cares I still don't have to deal with that bullshit."

Sunset finally came upon us as Ojisan arrived. "Dear child, I heard you had something…"

"Ji Ling is planning something Ojisan, I think consorting with an unknown enemy to take over the pack."

"Yes, I am aware, of that fools scheming ways, but to think of such a betrayal. Are you sure about this?"

"Yes, he was talking to something in the lake, I couldn't hear what the other being was saying, but just from what I heard Ling say, I'm sure of it."

"Sigh, it looks like that idiot can't cease to disappoint. I can't do much now at the moment, your visit to the temple takes precedent. We must leave now, but I will have guards tail him to be on the safe side."

Reluctantly I agreed, Ojisan led the way to the temple as Kujo and I followed.
