Bandits
Envis who was near the tent of asleep Lucis and Olivia looked towards the direction of the village .
"Why is there so much smoke arising from that direction …. It is fire or an attack ? "he wondered .
He broke a branch from the nearby tree and using it as a mount flew towards the village .By the time Envis reached the village , it was already under attack of the bandits . The bandits had started killing every man in site while throwing children in the cages they brought while some were having their way with the women . Most of the houses were on fire .
" Shit ! bandit attack "
He took out a device and sent SOS signal to nearby magic knights camp . The number of bandits were too many for him to handle alone . His body turned invisible as he ran towards the nearby bandit punching him to the ground . The bandits were used to live in the wild so that had sharp instinct and was able to somewhat balance himself after falling but Envis stomped his foot on the bandit's face .
The rest of the bandits got alerted seeing their comrade fall and started shooting spells in his direction .
Envis's magic allowed him to create a cloak of invisibility around him but his invisibility would be removed if he got hit by an attack . Although he could be sensed by anyone with good magic sense but only few among the bandits had that so he still had the advantage . He picked up the fallen bandit and used his as a shield to tank the attacks . He sensed an attack from behind and side stepped to dodge a sword strike but a ground based attack came from underground removing his cloak .
" IT'S A MAGIC KNIGHT KILL HIM!!!! " the bandits roared .
'Its going to be hard . I hope reinforcements come soon ' he thought as his body turned invisible again. As he disappeared from the bandit's sight they showered the area with wide range spell to drop his invisibly . Envis jumped on the roof of the nearby house and shot a orb made of mana towards the nearby bandit at the same time throwing a sword he picked on the way towards the head of another while he jumped towards the opposite direction . This confused the bandits about his position , taking the change he hit 2-3 bandits on the ground.

" Lucis wake up " Olivia shook the sleeping Lucis but he refused to wake up
" Mother …..let me sleep five minutes more ….." he mumbled in his sleep
Olivia cleared her throat and released a shrill sound near his ears .
Hearing this Lucis came out of his drowsiness instantly clutching his ears .
" Can't you wake me up more gently , someday I will have hearing problem due to your methods " grumbled Lucis as he rubbed his eyes .
" I could have done that by now is not the time for that . Something is wrong in the village , I can see large amount of smoke rising from that direction . "
After confirming her words he washed his face and told her to pack their things . Lucis retracted all the magic traps he set up and created a mount of light for them to travel .
They reached the village in a few minutes and saw the horrifying scene . Lucis immediately reacted and ordered Olivia " Use attack and durability buff " .
Olivia took out her grimoire and starting singing in a melodious voice , reacting to her voice the body of Lucis glowed in a soft blue light . Lucis created few arrows and pointed them towards the bandits that were throwing children into the cages . The light arrows were fast but Lucis was not able to tap into the true potential of light magic yet so their speed was not that fast as it should be . The bandits were able to cut the arrows with their weapons but the goal of the arrows were not meant to hit them . The broken arrows shinned and a large net was formed that wrapped around the bandits .
"Olivia now !" he ordered creating more nets
Olivia nodded and released a shrill noise from her mouth towards the fallen bandits . The noise made the bandits bleed from their ears at the same time taking away the ability to thing properly for a while . Lucis jumped towards them and began punching the bandits in the head by creating a large fist of light .
Lucis created a sword from light and slashed towards his side from where a bandit shoot an arrow . he looked towards the direction of the attack and found that a bandit was shooting arrows towards him from the top of a house .A platform of light was created under his feet which brought him near the bandit while he kept swinging his light sword destroying the arrows .
" Hehe got you " said one bandit that was standing below the one on the roof as he prepared to shoot a bolt of lightning towards Lucis . But a string of light emerged from the ground binding his movements . Lucis didn't knew that there was another bandit but for safety reason he casted a binding spell before hand . Lucis have very less attack spells but has a lot of spells to annoy or decapitate people . His body shined releasing a blight light making the bandit on the roof cover his eyes , taking the chance he decapitated the bandit while stabbing few light swords into his body . He did the same with the bandit that was on the ground .
He looked a bit ahead and shot towards the bandit who was dragging a woman .

Meanwhile on the other side of the village , the figure of Envi could be seen who was clutching his bleeding hand , opposite to him was a bandit with a lightning clad sword . This was strongest bandit among the all of the ones that attacked the village .
Envi dodged another attack but he cried out with pain as he realized that two arrows struck his back from behind .
"Seems like its your end , Mr . Magic knight " said the bandit as he suddenly increased his speed and brought down his sword to decapitate Envi but before he could touch Envi his hand was cut off from his shoulder by a black slash .
Envi looked towards the source of attack and exclaimed in happiness " Captain Yami !!! "
" Yo looks like you are in need of help " said Yami as he lit up a cigarette . Few minutes ago Yami was resting was resting in the magic knights camp nearby when he received as SOS signal . Immediately half of the magic knights present there along with him rushed here .
" The civilians need help " said Envi with a worried tone .
" Don't worry about them , help is here " said Yami as he slashes his sword towards the bandit , he tried to defend with his remaining hand but it was futile as that hand was too cutoff along with formation of a large wound on his chest .

" I cant save everyone " thought Lucis as he moved a person from the broken house . A bandit attacked him from behind but he dropped on the floor clutching his bleeding ear .Olivia came forwards and kicked his family jewels with mana reinforced kick . They had already seen a magic knight fighting the leader so the tired to rescue the civilians and fight of the rest of the bandits .
"if you are wondering about the fire don't worry it would be resolved soon " said Olivia pointing upwards . Following the finger of Olivia , Lucis looked upwards and saw two people flying in the sky with the vest of Crimson Lions . Lucis recognized one of them , it was Randall the vice captain of the Crimson Lions .
Randall looked towards his partner and ordered him to cast his spell . A large amount of water was released from the hands of the second magic knight but it didn't fall and kept floating under the effect of Randall's Air magic .
He controlled her air to make the water fall all over the village ,extinguish the fire . There were other crimson Lion member that were capturing the fallen bandits or ones that were still fighting.

Midnight
"Looks like you all are done " said Yami as he looked towards Lucis and the others that were sitting under a broken house . He turned towards the bandits that were restrained in one place cursing the magic knights . Yami got annoyed and released a wave of mana pressure knocking them out .
The rest of the magic knights were busy either healing the wounded or rescuing people from the broken houses . Around 30 people were killed before Yami and the squad arrived.
Yami already knew the identity of Lucis from the wizard king so he was happy seeing that someone of his status bothered to take missions so far from the capital . As he was about to say something another SOS signal was sent to his communicator from the direction deeper towards the forsaken area.
" Sigh ! they won't even let me rest for a moment "
