On the Run

"Hmm? That's a lot of people." Fū said with a heavy tone.

Looking outside of the main door 50+ floating mages along with 200+ mages and a elderly man with a hat that was pulled over his eyes were on the ground 10 meters from the door focusing on it.

"Why is a group of men like that just moving around?" Tori confusingly muttered

"Could it be that they some how figured out what happened at the village and came to assist?" Rhya asked.

"That's no force to assist a small takeover Rhya that's a army." Torune answered.

"Well no matter how many people there are it shouldn't be that hard, I mean haven't y'all noticed? Every single mage we have fought has been weak up close and only relying on their magic." Rhya explained

"That is true but it might not be like that every time." Fū countered.

"Will y'all talk about that another time! We have a situation on hand and we need options instead of just cutting them all down." Tori interjected.

"What exactly do you mean we need another option why can't we just cut them down?" Rhya asked

"Rhya, If a kingdom just loses a army and a village out of nowhere then what will the higher ups do? Let us camp out? No. They will send a bigger army then before and we will be overwhelmed."Torune said while holding back the urge of smack Rhya.

"I see so what exactly do wish for us to do?" Rhya asked the group.

"I have a plan…" Fū said as the rest gathered around him.

As the mages and Yagos a Shining General of the Diamond kingdom stared at the building waiting for the mage scouts to return they had started to become suspicious.

'It's been 20 minutes. There's no way it would take them 20 minutes to search a open space such as that.' Yagos thought as he turned to a man beside him.

"Bixen, Send 25 Soldiers inside as reinforcements to check the situation." Yagos ordered the man we now know was Bixen, Bixen was wearing the typical warrior mage outfit but he was fitted with a red hood.

"Sir!" Bixen said while motioning for more people to move in.

Nodding their heads 25 soldiers started on towards the buildings doors.

But as they got close they saw a man wearing a black cloak and a bird like mask jump out and start weaving hand signs.

'(Fire Style: Hiding in Ash and Dust)' From Rhyas' mouth a cloud of Ash and Dust covering everything within a 5 meter radius including the backup mages spewed out.

Within the confusion, the rest of the group appeared from the building and executed their plans.

Finding the nearest mage they took them out and used a henge on themselves to look like said mage while getting rid of the bodies.

Finishing off the Jutsu when everyone was ready Rhya molded Fire chakra in his mouth he released into the cloud causing small explosions to happen while throwing the group along with the mages outwards towards the army.

*BOOM*

Yagos looked at the scene in front of him with shock, the injured bodies of the reinforcement troop lay on the ground in front of him while the attacker was no where to be seen.

'Did he sacrifice himself?' Was the only question Yagos could ask himself. While remembering that suicidal spell.

"All of you get up and complete the mission! You worthless ingrates!" Yagos ordered.

The Warrior mages slowly made it to their feet and walked towards the building albeit slowly and wobbly and unknown to them a group of highly dangerous people lay in their ranks waiting for the perfect time to strike.

After another thorough inspection all the ground found was the mangled bodies of the first scouting group.

Exiting the building and heading towards Yagos and the commander the leader of the support troops kneeled.

"Sir Yagos, There's no sign of that man inside the only thing we saw was the fallen bodies of the scouts." A Mage reported.

"I see, We will continue heading towards Velie, I have a strong suspicion that man was involved with the situation over there." Yagos said.

"Sir!"

As the army reached Velie they saw the once bustling encampment empty not a soul in sight.

"Send in the troops figure out what happened to Velie!" Yagos ordered.

150 soldiers were sent to investigate while 96 soldiers stayed behind to guard Yagos.

As they scoured the town they found the remains of a few semi decaying bodies and some mining tools but that was it. "Let's check the compound there might be something inside of there." A mage ordered.

With that a large group of men 75 to be exact moved towards the doors of the compound.

*Creakkkk* the sound of the large doors opening echoed throughout the corridors of the building.

*Tap* *Tap* *Tap*

Catching the warriors off guard the sounds of rapid footsteps running towards them echoed through their ears.

"AGHHH" from the darkness of the hall way a man dressed in prisoner clothes, Which consisted of a plain white short sleeved shirt and a pair of white pants with broken shackles around his hands and feet. Lunged at the nearest group and started attacking.

Punching, Kicking, and biting he did everything like a wild animal on his last legs. But if one looked closely you could see a frightened look in his eyes along with tears leaking from them.

"Someone subdue him!" A man yelled trying to stop the man from attacking him.

"(Stone Creation Magic: Stone Whip)" a mage wearing a black hood stood behind the crazed man and conjured a whip made of hardened stone and attacked the crazed prisoner wrapping the whip around the mans neck.

*Gahhek* *Blurgg*

Some distorted sounds came from the crazed mans mouth as he was forcibly pulled by the throat from the man he was beating.

"Beat him until he ceases his rage!" The Captain commanded.

They started to pummel the man hoping to knock him out before he could start his violent attacks once more.

"It's not working what do we do?" A man yelled while looking at the bloodied prisoner who was still fighting like a mad man.

"Someone hold his arms and another get his legs! We will half to take em off!" The Captain barked.

But as they tried to subdue the crazed man a mage saw a piece of paper with strange inscriptions wrapped around his wrist. "Maybe this paper has something to do with the way he is acting." He said to the others as he motioned toward the paper.

"Well then take the damn thing off so he will stop." The Captain ordered.

The Mage nodded and went for the paper but he noticed more papers that ran up the mans arm but dismissed it and reached for the paper but once he touched it a blinding bright light blinded them for a few seconds before they heard the sound of something burning.

—Elsewhere—

On the hill overlooking Velie, Yagos watched as his men searched throughout the village finding only remains of a few people and belongings.

"Why did they split up?" He questioned the Senior Warrior Mage to his right.

"Most likely to have search the grounds faster Lord Yagos." The Mage Responded.

"I see, That is a good idea but I wonder what truly happened here. A work encampment like this doesn't just go sile-"

*BOOOOM*

Snapping their heads towards the sound everyone watched as the small group of men that separated from the main group were engulfed in a explosion that went 15 meters out and 20 meters tall.

When the explosion occurred four 'mages' silently moved away from the crowd escaping into the distance.

"Rhya what happened?" Fū asked concerned about what Rhya did.

"I made a back up plan of course, I modeled a seal after your family's technique but instead of actively controlling a person you can set actions they will do! With that I used that seal on a prisoner to attack anyone who came close and I planted Explosive tags on his body nothing too special." Rhya replied.

"But what about the stuff inside of the compound?!" Fū retorted.

"Nothing too important was there? Just some books, beds, and that mana draining machine." Rhya replied.

"that's good and all but where are we going now?" Tori interjected.
