Chapter 17: The Wizard King

"Pheww... we made it!" Suzaku breathed a sigh of relief as he - with Mimosa and Asta in either arm - descended onto the floor where Yuno, Luck, Klaus and Noelle stood.

"You guys are here!" Noelle exclaimed in joy at the fact everyone made it out without being crushed.

"Of course! There's no way I could become the Wizard King if I get crushed by a mere dungeon! Hahaha!" Asta laughed as he held the back of his head.

"You guys..." Klaus muttered, to which Yuno noticed as he looked at him.

Much to their confusion, Klaus stood in front of Asta, Yuno and Suzaku as he went into a low bow

"I'm... I'm so sorry!" Everyone, excluding Suzaku, looked at Klaus in shock, "I didn't acknowledge you guys at first purely because you were peasants. I'm ashamed of myself!" He said, not looking up at all as he felt ashamed to look up at the people who pretty much saved his life.

"You guys are all excellent magic knights... of the Clover Kingdom!" Finishing his small speech, the area was now silent.

"Hey, mister four-eyes" Asta's voice entered Klaus' ear as he felt Asta's hand on his shoulder, "You know, I don't really remember what you said just now" Asta's words made everyone drop comically, "But thanks" Klaus looked up to see Asta's protagonist smile.

He then looked behind Asta to see Yuno and Suzaku standing there, looking at him with their own smiles. This caused Klaus to shake in shame as he bit his bottom lip, "Thank you..."

"Hey, can we go home now?" Luck asked impatiently, "I didn't really get to do anything in that fight with the crystal guy, and I'm itching for a strong fight!" He smiled.

"Yes, I believe it is time we must depart" Klaus got back in character as he stood beside Mimosa and Yuno as he pushed his glasses up, "It was a pleasure working with you, Black Bulls..."

On cue, Yuno activated his Wind ark spell as the Golden Dawns went back to their base.

On the way, Klaus couldn't help but speak up, "You know... Maybe they're not the worst magic knight squad" He said with a small smile.

Yuno and Mimosa, looking at Klaus, couldn't help but smile themselves as they went back to their base in a comforting silence.

Back at the Black Bulls base, the squad of 4 were being congratulated by Captain Yami and were told that they received a few stars by the Wizard King.

A week hurriedly passed, when one day Yami announced

"Also, the Magic Knights' headquarters want a report on the dungeon, so you guys will be heading there tomorrow" Yami, noticing Luck's expression, then said "Not you, Luck, you'll cause trouble. You'll be going on a mission tomorrow"

"Great!" Luck said excitedly as he went back to his room.

"Noelle, Asta, you two can do whatever you want. Suzaku, with me" Yami said as he walked to the back of the base.

'Time for some training' Suzaku thought as he followed Yami.

After training with Yami, Suzaku received a few system notifications (Which he hadn't opened since the dungeon incident. Why? No reason, he just didn't).

[Quest Complete: "Claim the Dungeon Rewards and Prevent the Diamond Kingdom from claiming them"]

[Quest Rank: S - Because a captain-level enemy was involved + some other tasks/requirements]

[Quest Rewards: 100,000 Points]

[User has completed an S Rank Quest for the first time, congratulations! Double Points has been awarded!]

[Points: 100,500 -> 300,050]

Following the notifications from the Dungeon quest, there were a few physical stat changes from Yami's training sessions which weren't added previously, including today's relatively hardcore training session.

[Strength: 19,000 -> 50,000 Points] [Strength Rank: B- -> B]

[Agility: 19,000 -> 50,000 Points] [Agility Rank: B- -> B]

[Vitality: 19,000 -> 50,000 Points] [Vitality Rank: B- -> B]

Suzaku couldn't help but shake in happiness at the powerup he received from a single day (The dungeon).

'Is this the perk of a major arc in the series? Imagine all the points I'll get when the elf stuff happens!'

It was now the next day. Suzaku, Noelle and Asta walked side-by-side as they were now in the noble realm as the castle was now not too far in front of them.

"Man! This is cool! The houses are gigantic!" Asta's eyes were filled with envy yet excitement as he looked at the rich surroundings.

"Are they?" Noelle, being the rich girl she is, could only reply solemnly as this was nothing compared to her house... well, a mansion or castle would probably fit the description better.

"Huh...? Hey, isn't that-?" Asta stopped in place as he saw a familiar trio in front of them.

"Hmm?" The familiar four-eyed turned around as he felt a familiar presence.

"Well, if it isn't the good people of the Golden Dawn!" Asta ran up to them, urging Noelle and Suzaku to follow behind him.

"You guys!" Klaus passionately went up to Asta and put his hand on his shoulder "We haven't seen you guys in a week! Have you been resting well?" He asked

"Yeah, Captain made us rest for a whole week" 'Not like we did rest though as we were all doing our own training' Suzaku replied, "How are you guys?" Suzaku looked over Klaus' shoulder to see Yuno and Mimosa standing there.

Yuno, as expressionless as ever, looked at them with a blank expression.

As for Mimosa, she appeared to go a little red as she turned her head to avoid Suzaku's eye contact.

Noelle, noticing Mimosa's action, couldn't help herself from dragging Mimosa away from the boys as they went into the closest alley to have their women talk.

"So, you guys are here to also give a report?" Suzaku asked, to which Klaus and Yuno nodded, "Any idea where to go from here?"

"Of course, just follow me... once the girls are back" Klaus turned his head to see Mimosa and Noelle walking back to them with red faces.

- Flashback to the Girls -

Mimosa, having been pulled by Noelle into an alley, looked at the twin-tailed girl in shock.

"So, what's with you, Mimosa?" Noelle bluntly asked.

Pushing her index fingers together anime-style, Mimosa looked at the ground as she spoke, "W-Well... I don't really know..."

"Huh? What do you mean?!" Not accepting Mimosa's answer, Noelle kept pushing for a proper one.

"Uhm... i-it's just... ever since last week, I... I couldn't stop thinking about Suzaku, I don't know what's wrong with me!" Mimosa raised her voice a little as she grabbed Noelle's shoulders, much to her shock, "Noelle! Please, how do I stop this!"

"E-E-ehhh!?? How can you say that stuff so casually!?" Noelle went red, matching Mimosa's flushed face, "It's obvious that you have a c-c..." Noelle stuttered

"C...?" Mimosa innocently asked, not getting at what Noelle was saying.

"A c... a crush!" Noelle covered her face with her hands.

"What's that?" Mimosa tilted her head, causing Noelle to look at her with a 'Are you serious?' face.

- Back to the present -

"I'm sure it was over here somewhere..." Klaus muttered to himself as the group arrived at the headquarters.

"Over here!" A masculine voice entered everyone's ears as they turned their attention to see a tall, blond haired man with a blue six-pointed star on the left side of his forehead who wore a rich-looking fur robe, "Hey there! C'mon in, young ones!" 

"..." The group couldn't help but be stunned as they looked at the royal presence that has been bestowed upon them.

"S...Sir!" Suddenly, Klaus dropped to a knee as he began to sweat, "I never dreamed you'd meet us directly!" 

Asta, being the clueless guy he is, asks "Who's the fancy guy?" Causing Klaus' mouth to drop as he shouted

"You fool! You are in the presence of the current Wizard King, Julius Novachrono!!"

"WHAAAA!!??" Asta screamed.

Meanwhile, while everyone else was shocked, Suzaku couldn't help but take a glimpse at his system notifications which showed the time spent with Julius moving up ever so slowly.

Bringing his attention back to the Wizard King, Suzaku could now see that he had Yuno's grimoire in hand.

"Wow, this spell is probably the most important relic in the dungeon!" Julius began to conversate with Yuno about the spell.

"Say, could you perform the spell for me right now?!" Julius asked with a child-like smile on his face.

"I'm sorry... I haven't been able to activate it at all, I don't even know what type of spell it is, unfortunately" Yuno replied, causing Suzaku's eyes to widen.

'Damn... well, I'm sure he'll be able to awaken the spirit at a different time' Suzaku shrugged. 

He looked back at the timer and noticed that it was a little over half way now.

Asta then showed off his dusty grimoire to show the writing received from his new sword, the Demon-Dweller Sword.

Pulling out his new sword, the Julius exclaimed in joy, "Woahh! A second anti-magic sword!

Anti-magic power... Could... Could I touch that?" Julius asked politely, to which Asta handed over the sword in a presentable manner.

Taking hold of the sword, the weight of the sword caused Julius to not be able to lift it which led to it being stuck in the ground.

Because of this, Julius was surprised and commented on the fact that Asta was actually able to wield the sword and swing it around with ease.

Another thing that shocked Julius was the fact that the sword appeared to absorb his magic, "I see..." He then signalled for Asta to take it back, "Only you are able to wield this sword, as someone with no magic"

"How did you know I don't have magic!?" Asta asked.

"That's a good question, isn't it?" Julius ominously replied, "At any rate, wonderful work in the dungeon! Well done!

'Damn it, this is the longest 30 minutes of my life!' Suzaku complained as he saw the timer now being ever so close, around 5 minutes probably.

"-It's merit." Suzaku heard the Wizard King say with a blunt tone and expression.

'Asta and Yuno have already asked about how to become the Wizard King, then'

After another small conversation, Julius then said, "All right! As a matter of fact, we're holding a decoration ceremony for the magic knights who've been awarded an outstanding number of stars today!

I hope you'll come and join us!" He expressed.

He walked into the castle, with the group following behind, "All right... can you..." The doors opened to reveal many captains vice captains standing in the room in an orderly fashion

"Give me better results than them?" The Wizard King asked Yuno and Asta.

'Come on... just a minute left!'
