Son

The man's face now showed no signs of fear, but of anger. His steps towards us were swift and with purpose, but that purpose was unknown.

As Donovan and I were trying to figure out which one of us was his son, the man reached us and tried to push Donovan away from me.

However, the strong and genetically modified body of Donovan didn't move at all, nearly sending the man to the ground face-first.

He acted as if nothing had happened and turned to me, crouching down and inspecting my body for injuries.

"You look alright, but how are you?"

Donovan had let the man do as he pleased as he seemed to have good intentions, but with a grab of the man's shoulder, he threw him off of me.

"Keep your hands off of my son."

As the man tumbled to the ground, I saw a bald spot on the top of his head. Then, I got some sort of vision of a similar situation that I had never seen before. Before I could see the rest of it, Donovan stepped in front of me.

Standing between myself and the man, Donovan took a defensive stance this time, making his body look as large as possible to scare the man away.

"Your son? That's my son!"

The man stood up quickly, pointing an accusatory finger at Donovan.

"I-I don't know you…"

The man seems to know me, but I've never seen him before. I have no memories before meeting Donovan so he might be from then, but that was then and this is now.

Maybe then, he was my father, but now, Donovan is.

"Dylan…"

"You heard him. Now leave."

The man turned to walk away, dejected. However, I didn't want to let him go.

"Wait! If this man knows me, shouldn't we keep him around so I can get some of my memories back?"

The man stopped in his tracks, turning to Donovan with a hopeful look on his face. Donovan looked like he was going to immediately decline but something seemed to change his mind.

"Fine. But he stays here."
