Dire Situation

The warrior panted as he spoke, "S-Sir Leo…"

"Isn't he one of the powerful warriors that wen with Lord Axton?" Director Ver said.

The warrior nodded in response.

"What about him?"

"H-He just got back and reported that there was another Demon General Class Beast in the Demon Beast Wave…

"What!?" Agnes exclaimed.

A grave expression appeared on everyone's face as they heard the warrior's words.

Director Ver tried his best to remain calm, "Did he tell you what kind of demon beast it was? If it was just another ogre, then it might be doable…"

Much to their dismay, the warrior shook his head, "I-It's not an ogre. Sir Leo said that it was a Shadewraith Tigris…"

This time, Director Ver wasn't able to maintain the calm expression on his face.

He felt despair looming in the atmosphere as everyone present realized the danger they were in.

After a while, Director Ver spoke, "Agnes."

"Yes Director?"

"You said earlier that General Mika is heading towards here from the Northern Gate, right? Why is she still not here…"

Due to the Demon General Class Ogre having all their attention earlier, they really haven't noticed that General Mika still hadn't arrived even if she was the one who responded first.

Clyde interjected from the side, "Do you mean that…"

Director Ver nodded, "I have a suspicion that something happened at the Northern Gate too…"

"Then let me and Agnes go to the Northern Gate so we can hel—"

"No."

Director Ver shook his head, "It took our full power just to barely kill a Demon General Ogre… A Shadewraith Tigris has abilities."

Despite his limited words, the two warriors immediately understood what he was implying.

"Then what should we do?" Agnes asked.

Director Ver responded after a short pause, "Agnes, go to the Northern Gate."

"Understood." She responded in kind as she immediately left the area.

Clyde saw this and asked, "What about me, Director?"

Director Ver stared at him for a few moments and said, "Clyde… gather the civilians."

Clyde's eyes widened as he heard the Director's words, "W-What? What do you mean? Shouldn't I go and help the—"

"Please just follow my orders." Director Ver said in a voice that was almost pleading.

He knew the direness of their situation. The fact that it wouldn't take long before the place they called their home was brought down to ruins by the Demon Beast Wave.

Forgive me for only being able to upload half a chapter T - T

My busy schedule is limiting the time I alloted for writing...

I also don't have that much of a free time...

I'll make the next chapters long. I promise.

Just treat this like a teaser... or an appetizer if you will ;3
