Chapter Three: Wings, Tail & Raising Hell

I open my eyes as they begin to burn from the light. It's been seventy-two hours since they were last open but it feels like a lifetime. I stand up and I feel different for the first time in a long time. I walk over to the mirror and notice the changes to my appearance. Black Leather-like wings stretch down from my shoulder blades. A lizard-like tail from right above my rear end. My skin is more scaled armor than human skin and horns that point backward have emerged from my head.

I bellow with enjoyment as I realize how much more of an animal of legend I look like. A knock is heard from the door.

"Come In," I respond in a growled tone.

In walks Lilly, or as you have heard me call her Lillian, bent over in a bow. "I seek conference with my father," she replies.

"You have it, Daughter," I respond.

Her eyes speak volumes as she looks from the ground to my eyes. "Holy Hell," She screams with excitement, "You've become the Dragon King."

My brow raises.

"You sound surprised. What did you come in here to ask me," I reply.

Suddenly, I smell a metal-like smell. She charges at me, raising a blade from behind her back.

"Like hell," I scream as she races towards me. I clasp my hands together and a wave of pyrokinetic energy speeds forth from my body, sending her flying backwards. "Nafu Kata," I whisper as the second wave flames and spreads throughout the room. The room suddenly begins to spin as I feel a sharp pain in my kidneys.

"Long live The Dragon King," she says at the side of my head, before letting me fall to the ground. My breathing slows and I black out.

I awaken on a plain I don't recognize.

"That Bitch!," I exclaim and roar. A figure stands before me. It points to me and I recognize the figure as the God of Death, Anubis.

"You aren't supposed to be here. You have to wake yourself up and return to your realm."

"I can try, Grandfather, but I promise nothing," I say. I blink my eyes and I am still there. I hear from somewhere that sounds close to me, "He's trying to wake up. Go get Lady Lillian!"

I snarl and roar in extreme anger. I'm back, but in a dungeon beneath the main hall of the training corridor. In walks my daughter.

"Hello father," she replies, with a slight smile spreading across her lips. "You seem to recognize where you are , but I can only assume you wonder why or what I have planned for you."

"Trust me," I snarl, "What you do to me will be nothing compared to what your brother does to you."

Shock wrinkles across her face as she speaks, "Oh ye of little faith. Sorry to disappoint you, but I dispatched a regimen to deal with him and his friends."

I smile under my breath, "Then you truly are as ill intelligent as I had thought you were. You think you know everything there is to he and I, but we keep some things to ourselves."

Suddenly the ground begins to quake under my feet and the ceiling of the dungeon chamber begins to crack around the pillars. I holster a portion of my strength. I jerk the chain on my right and it snaps.

"Nooooo," she hisses , and dodges out the door as a guard comes inside and hits me with a green wave of light that I absorb.

Lifting my finger, I motion the back and forth "no-no" tisk before he charges at me again. This time I grab him with my free hand and crack his helmet with enough force behind it that it bends the helmet and takes him to the floor.

I jerk the chain binding me to the next pillar. It's link snaps right out of the coupling keeping the band around my wrist. My knees buckle under my weight. I grab hold of the wall for support as a legion of soldiers come rushing into the room, Spears and pitchforks at the ready.

Growling in my throat, I mumble "Kanu hati" and the weapons start to glow. An echo of "ooooooh," followed by clanking of weapons dropping. A soldier rushes at me before he sees the already dented helmet of the unconscious soldier. He stops and backs back into place.

"What are you fools doing?, I said to kill him."

"Lady Lillian, He will surely kill every one of us," says the soldier.

"You should be honored," replies Lillian, "It is a privilege to face The Dragon King in battle."

I smirk.

"If it's such an honor, Daughter, Why don't you came down here and take your spanking like the slime you are," I reply.

A flash fills the room and she appears and kicks me in the chest sending me flying back through stone pillar after stone pillar. I put my foot down and my talons scrap across the floor as I slow and stop.

"Roooooooaaaaaaarrrrrr," I bellow causing the rocky ceiling to come down in stalactitic points, smashing all the soldiers into a further pit below. Their screams of pain echo from below, but Lillian has disappeared again. I know all too well where she is headed as the demonic prophecy echos in my mind.

"She will kill your first born and assume his birth right, after which she will kill you as you have done me."

Joey. He was my last hope. As the anger built inside of me, Lava spouts erupted around me, sending the floor spiraling towards the ceiling. I fold my wings to my back and cross my arms above my head, bracing myself for the impact and sunlight of the human world.

Smash. Rocks and brimstone erupt into the sky as I am ejected from a Hell Gate and rocket through the air. I spread my wings and flap as a boom is heard behind me, leaving a streak behind me.
