Army Recruitment

In a cave at the foot a gigantic mountain. A pair of eyes were flickering as two red bulbs were lit.

A Humanoid like a thing was sitting on a chair with one leg on another. The chair was made from bones, He looked almost Like humans but has dark blue. He had two horns on both sides of the forehead. His ears were pointy, his fingers were sharp looked like claws of beasts and had sharp teeth which seemed like it can bite off steel easily. His height was more than 6.5 ft and every muscle on his body was muscular. He was Demon King of the third domain of demonic kingdom. His name was Aggezath. He was Rank C Demon.

In front of him, two more demons were kneeling, they had bodies like a werewolf. Their sizes were massive. If they stand on two legs they will be taller than 7 ft. They had a ferocious look in their eyes and were dark yellow. One has physique more muscular than others. His every muscle was screaming of power. His name was Gavner. The other one was a lot lean than Gavner but his every muscle was perfect. His name was Dasha. Both Gavner and Dasha were Demonic general under Aggezath and were Rank D demons.

There are three domains of the demonic kingdom. Each domain was ruled by Demon King. Further Demonic generals were working under Demon King. Each demonic general controlled few thousand Demonic beasts. As the Rank goes up the quantity decreases. The demon and demonic beast above F are intelligent and Rank G and below have the intelligence of animals.

Aggezath: "Demon lord has ordered to start attacking a few human civilizations. The time will come soon when demons will rule this world. Demon lord will recover soon."

Gavner and Dasha became slightly happy. Dasha is more intelligent than Gavner. Gavner is more brute than brains.

Dasha: "What order do you have for us Demon king?"

Aggezath: "Select 2 or 3 Rank E demonic beasts and send them to attack one human Kingdom. Hmm, let's attack that kingdom that was called the Kingdom of Ocawyth. Provide few thousands of demonic beasts to Rank E and attack in the next 2 or 3 months. Send enough, not too many, we are just testing waters. If we sent too many others will take notice. Just made it look like just normal beast wave to them. We just want to know the strength of humans. And Gavner go with them to just Guide them, if someone looked like a threat, just eliminate them"

As the Demons were planning the attack on the Kingdom of Ocawyth, The Kingdom of Etherac was progressing at a rapid pace. A week passed in a blink of an eye. In this week Dwarfs migrated to the kingdom and settled. The total amount of Dwarfs was 5000, of which around 2000 were male adult, 1500 female and around 1500 were children. After settling, they started the manufacturing of weapons for the army. Elf's also migrated and settled after two days from the dwarfs. Elf's population was more than Dwarfs. The total population was 7000 of which approx 2000 were male, 3000 were females and 2000 were children.

Today was the day of the recruitment of the army. The venue was set in the open area on the outskirts of Etherac city. There were around 1000 counters set up to register the name, address and few important details of the candidates. The counters were starting to register in the morning before even sunrise. Each counter had a long queue. As far as the eye could see, only the heads of people could be seen. People in the queue were not coming to an end. More people were coming as time flew. To make it faster 1000 more counters were set up. And after around 5 hours, the end of the queue was seen.

Around 11 am, the recruitment of the army had begun. there were many divisions to divide the candidates. In each Division rock weights ranging from 100 kg to 200 kg were placed in a row and around each weight one examiner was standing to record the performance of candidates. The recruitment was divided into two trials, First how much weight one can lift. The second is Running.

Xander, Dye, Reignald, Aldith, and Noah came to inspect the progress of recruitment together. They went division from division, rows from rows to watch and motivate the candidates and it was successful to some extent.

As they were entering the last division, suddenly Xander stopped upon hearing some familiar voices. He turned to the left to look the source of voices. He identified three persons. Xander turned towards Aldith "Aldith weren't those three peoples we had seen at the tavern?"

Aldith looked at those three persons "yes, your highness you are right."

They were Warren and other two balded persons who were talking of recruitment at the tavern when Xander and Aldith went to take walk in the streets of Etherac city.

Xander turned towards the three of them and said to Aldith "Let's see how well they perform."

The whole group stopped to watch the trial of those three persons.

Firstly the baldy went forward to try, his name was Nix. He was around 5 ft 10 inches and had a good physique. He didn't have a single hair either on his head or on his eyebrow. He went forward there were many different weights placed in a row. He stopped before 150 kg weight. He bent forward, grabbed the rock and started to apply strength upward, Rock started to lift from the ground, In one try he lifted the rock without much difficulty. Then he went forward and stopped in front of 170 kg. The crowd started to whisper.

"Oi, he went to lift 170 kg."

"He can't lift it, he is just showing off"

"Let's bet, 10 coppers that he will fail."

"Me too.10 coppers that he will fail."

Xander went towards this betting group " 10 gold that he will succeed."

Upon hearing this everyone was stunned. They turned to look at who can bet this huge amount of money. When they looked at the person, everyone was shocked that their king was betting with them.

On the other hand, Nix went to lift the rock. He repeated the process but this time he lifted the rock but with great difficulty. After 170 kg he didn't stop and went towards 180 kg.

Xander again said in a slightly loud voice so that the betting group could hear "Aren't you going bet again?"

That group slightly down their heads. Xander laughed "Don't worry, I'm just kidding."

Nix bent and grabbed the rock. He started to lift the rock, He clenched his teeth, his face became slightly red. His arms started to tremble and lifted the rock up to his shoulders. He started to feel dizzy, He bit his lips to stay conscious, blood started to come from his lip. He mustered his strength and then lifted the rock with a jerk, whole blood came to his face and became completely red like his face was painted red. He dropped the rock to the ground. And suddenly collapsed, Warren went quickly and caught before he fell to the ground.

Xander started to clap to praise Nix. Upon hearing someone clapping everyone present started to clapping. The whole division reverberates from clapping sound.

Someone went and brought a glass of water and sprinkled on Nix's face. He woke up and sat on the ground. He looked around and slightly startled upon seeing the situation and hearing the booming sound of Clapping. After some time the clapping sound came to end.

Then the second person went forward to lift the weight. His name was Spike which funnily suited him. He had only a few hairs on the upper part of the head and looked like a big spike. He also barely lifted 180 kg but managed to stay conscious.

Then Warren went forward. Warren was a handsome young man around 20 years old. His height was slightly more than 6 ft. He worked as a Lumberjack, he had a great muscular physique. He went directly to lift 170 kg.

The crowd again started whispering

"He looks confident, he directly went to lift 170 kg."

"His physique is good, He looks strong."

Many were telling their views to one another.

The group of Xander was also watching this.

"What do you think of Dye? How much can he lift?"

Dye put his finger in front of lips to guess "Hmm, he looks strong maybe 180 kg or even 190 kg, what do you think?"

"I think he can lift 190 kg."

As they were conversing, Warren easily lifted 170 kg and went to 180 kg. He adjusted and grabbed the rock and lifted the rock.

"Dye, what do you think? Can he become general?"

He slowly sat on the ground as he was feeling slight motion sickness. The crowd began to clap, Xander and his group too clapped for some time and then went outside.

Many women also participated in the trial, there were few strong women. There was one woman who lifted 150 kg rock. Everyone was stunned after watching her lifting the rock. Few dwarfs were also participating, the amount was around 100, as most of them are related to the production profession but they had immense strength, they use war hammer. Many additional trials were also conducted like archery, scouts and any other talent or skill. Around 1500 Elf's participated in archery trials, both males and females. Their archery was amazing. They could hit the bullseye at 1000 feet (around 300 meters) and the power behind each shot was so terrifying that the arrow could easily pierce the steel in 50 meters.

So the recruitment of the army came to end. Most talented people who had great physiques were selected. 100,000 soldiers and 3000 individuals talents were selected from more than 200,000 people.
