Chapter 06 The Heavens Are Cruel

"The different between my method and what the military does is that; some of you won't be getting any supply at the end of the month," Shung Yun said as he grinned at the expression of his soldiers.

"Are you joking!? If we don't get any supply at the end of the month, how can we feed ourselves and our family? How can we grow stronger!?"

"Captain, you're going too far!"

Soldiers raised their voices at Shung Yun as they protested against his method.

Not even bothering about how his soldiers shouted at him, Shung Yun said, "this month won't be included. So, you all have six weeks to prepare. Only the strongest twenty will receive their supply next month. Goodluck to you all."

"Shung Yun!" Shung Muzai shouted, causing every murmur to seize.

Stopping on his tracks after hearing his name, Shung Yun glanced at Shung Muzai by turning his neck alone, "do you think I can't beat you up just I like I did to Shung Dong, Shung Muzai?"

"Don't you see that your soldiers are angry at what you said? Or do you not care about their feelings at all?" Shung Muzai asked.

"I'm doing it for their own good. If none of them are strong enough to defend themself, who will protect them when I can no longer advance my cultivation?" Shung Yun asked Shung Muzai, "or are you going to protect them?"

Not responding to what Shung Yun asked, Shung Muzai said, "your so-called method is cutting their path to further cultivation realm."

"I'm giving them the chance to grow faster than they ever could with the general military method. The strongest among us will advance faster than all the other Body Tempering Realm soldiers in our Warhead Military Section, or even in the entire Byui Military, giving those who are weaker the chance to grow when the strongest amongst us have broken through to the middle-stage of the Qi birth realm," Shung Yun said as he looked away from Shung Muzai, "our Ravage Unit will be the leading force among the Body Tempering realm soldiers in Byui Military."

"And you will be captain of this great military unit, right?" Shung Muzai asked as he began walking towards Shung Yun.

"That's right. Unless someone is strong enough to defeat me among you all," Shung Yun said.

"Then it's time for you to step down, cap - tain," Shung Muzai said as a blue colored energy covered his limbs.

"Are we making use of our weapons?" Shung Yun asked as he finally turned to face Shung Muzai.

"You should make use of yours. Don't want people to say I bullied you," Shung Muzai said.

"And he said he wouldn't underestimate Shung Yun," the soldier who spoke to Shung Muzai thought as he watched the ongoing scene.

"Alright," Shung Yun said as he removed his battle-axe from his back.

Wussh!

Dashing towards Shung Muzai as soon as his weapon left his back, he swung his axe horizontal at Shung Muzai's neck.

Surprised at how fast and sudden Shung Yun attacked, Shung Muzai hastily retreated, dodging the axe by only two inches.

Turning his body in the direction of the still swinging axe, Shung Yun rotated before hacking down his battle-axe towards Shung Muzai's head.

Prepared for Shung Yun's attack this time, Shung Muzai activated his fist technique before thrusting his right fist at the descending battle-axe.

Boom!!

Staggering backward after the crash, the two fighters dashed towards each other with their battle intents still ruthlessly burning.

Boom!! Boom!! Boom!! Boom!! Boom!! Boom!! Boom!!

Exchanging rapid blows with Shung Muzai, Shung Yun began getting familiar with his battle-axe.

Despite absorbing the soul of the previous Shung Yun and inheriting his memories, Shung Yun still needed time to get in-tuned with his battle-axe, as well as his techniques.

Intercepting Shung Muzai's fist with the flat surface of his battle-axe, he kicked at the right side of Shung Muzai's face with his left leg.

Bam!!

Staggering to the side after receiving Shung Yun's kick to his head, Shung Muzai felt dizzy as his sight became blurry.

Not giving any chance to Shung Muzai to get himself, Shung Yun brought down his grasp on the battle-axe to the bottom, giving him more range of attack.

Getting ready to attack, he used the flat surface of his battle-axe to slam on Shung Muzai's chest.

Bam!!

Flung away after receiving Shung Yun attack on his chest, Shung Muzai spat out blood as he smashed a few times on the ground before coming to a stop nine meters away from Shung Yun.

"He..he defeated a Qi birth realm Muzai,"

"So strong,"

"I wonder if anyone in the lower stage of Qi birth realm in the village can defeat the captain,"

"He or she must have a very powerful battle technique to outmatch the captain's battle-axe technique,"

"But don't you think the method the captain proposed is way too ruthless?"

"I don't know anymore. If I can have the strength the captain has, I'm willing to follow the captain's method,"

"Looks like I'm still the captain of Ravage Unit of Warhead Military Section," Shung Yun said as turned away from Muzai, "if you guys want to be as strong as me, your only chance is by using more resources you're making use of now."

"Won't you also be making use of more resources?" a soldier asked Shung Yun.

"Will more resources help me when my cultivation stops advancing? It won't. So, if you can break through to the middle-stage of Qi birth realm, then you will be as strong as I am now," Shung Yun said.

"Wait, is he saying he's as strong as someone in the elite squad of our Byui Military?"

"That's so insane,"

"The heavens are really cruel. He has such terrifying talent, but he can't cross out of the lowest cultivation realm in existence,"

"No wonder the clan elders were so furious after they found out about captain's disability,"

"I hope you guys put in more effort to grow stronger before the end of next month. A month without any cultivation resources is really a big deal," Shung Yun said as he left the campground.

"You're lucky Shung Xu, you're one of the strongest among us," Shung Bulin said to Shung Xu.

"I'm sure you and Shung Kai will be among the top twenty who will receive next month's cultivation resources," Shung Xu said.

"Then what about other months? With this method imposed by the captain, nobody will have the chance to be lazy again. Some talented soldiers who just decided to be lazy for a while will sit up and grow explosively," Shung Bulin said, "and from the captain's behavior, I don't think he will play favorite with us."

"I believe that you can do it. You're talented and hardworking enough to be among the top twenty in our Ravage Unit," Shung Xu said as they walked out of the campground, "you just have to believe it yourself."

"Commander Sir, permission to come in?" Shung Yun asked as he stood with his right fist on his chest and his left hand beside him.

"Come in," a deep voice sounded out.

Pushing the door open, Shung Yun entered the office of the Warhead Military Section Commander.

"How was your vacation, captain Yun?" a lower-stage middle aged man with brown colored bears on his face asked Shung Yun.

"I apologize for leaving my place of duty without taking permission from you, Sir. I will accept any punishment rendered to me by the Military Law," Shung Yun said with his head bowed.

"I'm glad your condition hasn't messed with your head. As for your punishment, you'll lead your soldiers to the mountain plain at the south of the village and execute a bandit group going by the name, Black Owl. Complete that, and you will have a clean sleet," the Warhead Military Section Commander said.

"Acknowledged, Sir," Shung Yun said while saluting before leaving the commander's office.
