Breaking The Silence - Introduction

*Boom*

A distant rumble is heard as a shockwave travels through the ground, shaking trees and startling animals, the shockwave continues to travel until it passes through a desolate mountain region shaking the area and causing vibrations to travel up the mountain. These waves continue until they reach a lone cave hidden inside the mountain.

*Rumble*Snap*

These vibrations cause a singular rock to fall from its perch and land on a resting mound below it. All then goes silent in this untouched cave.

*Crack*

The only sound that reverberates throughout as the mound develops a crack from where the rock landed. As the sound fades all returns to silence, as the singular mound stays frozen on the floor.

The Being inside the mound on the other hand is anything but silent as its first thoughts pop into its head.

Who, What, Where, Why. Its brain was moving quickly as it tried to understand what was going on. All it could see was darkness around it. The being tried to move around but quickly found that it was restricted inside something.

*Ding* 

"Consciousness found, Implanting basic knowledge from Previous Dragon" 

The beings first real experience that it felt was pain. Pain from the knowledge being forced into its head. It went away but at the same time so did the being's consciousness albeit temporarily...

*Ding*

"Knowledge Implant Finished, Re-Awakening Host"

The being awoke but this time knowledge to all of its questions, it now knew who it was, where it was, and why it was here. It's name was Strife, An uncommon and unordinary name, but it was his ancestor's that named him and he had no quarrels with the name. 

And what he was, as the memories told him was that he was a dragon his kind had spread throughout the world, and was accepted in some places for their high affinity to magic due to the quantity of mana devoured during the hatching process, but also hunted in certain areas for the same reason. 

Where he was, was a slightly more difficult one to answer, seeing as even though he awakened the memories he was still in the end trapped in what he found out was his egg. The area he awakened memories about was a barren mountain that had a influx of mana and was the perfect place to plant the egg. But he also found out that to hatch dragon eggs requires tremendous amounts of mana, so when a suitable area is found the egg is hidden there. The egg then starts the hatching process by sucking in mana from their area which can in turn permanently scar the area around where the egg sits turning it into a mana less zone. The distance it removes the mana from is fully dependent on the dragons talent. Some mana less areas might only stretch a dozen feet for the majority of Dragons. while the more talented dragons could have the mana less zone stretch's for a upwards of 200 feet.

So because of his placement here the barren mountain, which while barren could have flourished was instead crumbling from the inside due to his hatching process permanently disfiguring the mountain by turning a one mile radius inside the mountain into a mana less zone.

And why he was there was slightly simpler, his parent otherwise known as the previous dragon by the voice that he heard before, was particularly talented and was given a hidden away spot, with plentiful mana for hope that the child would be similarly talented. And he also knew that for these young years of his life he would not be seeing his family anytime soon, For the dragons had a tradition for their kind, which was if they wanted to meet their family they would have to seek them out on their own. He was also given a voice in his head that the knowledge imparted to him says is the Dragon System. Which is an experiment from his family lineage, and in the end Strife was just the Guinea pig.
