“All of this angst is because Robbie put himself into a place where he could have died and left you alone or you could have gone to jail and left him.”

“He doesn’t do too well on his own yet. He’s still fifteen in some ways. Like a child, he needs to know that you still love him. But you need time to collect yourself. He’s going to the dinner with Johnny on Friday. He’s on the schedule in the Main Bar until nine. Johnny will go get him after his shift. But if you’re not ready to see him yet, I’ll tell Johnny to have Aubrey take him home.”
“I’ll not only see him, I’ll reserve a room. If I don’t have it together by Friday, I’ll have to let him go.”
