Ch. 9 Part 1

Lin Yu'an woke up when he felt he had rested enough, checking the time on the system map it was around 3:30 pm and it had started getting late. He decided to check out his rewards he got for completing the system's task. The reward given by the system was another slot in the system, which was a slot for food recipes, techniques and methods of making both Western and Chinese medicines and methods of creating weapons. They were in book forms but not many recipes and low grades since his level was too low, but seeing a method of creating anti-inflammatory cream and the 1,000 points he felt the reward was worth it!

He exchanged 15,000 of silvers for points, as soon as the exchange was done the notification of the system sound. He clicked to check

[ Host has crossed the threshold for upgrade, does host wish to upgrade now?!]

[Upgrade/ Cancel ]

he decisively clicked on upgrade

[ System will upgrade in a minute ]

Lin Yu'an waited in anticipation of seeing something magical and overwhelming, but after a minute there was nothing magical only the system notification sound. He was baffled.

" wait.... that's all?! " he asked thinking there must've been something he missed

" what else were you expecting? " the system asked in doubt

" where's the magical reaction, like a flash of light or... just anything magical! "

System: " ....... "

the system couldn't help but think the host it chose must be stupid. " Host I'm a system.... not a magical wand! " it retorted and went to find a comfortable place in Lin Yu'an's mind to relax leaving Lin Yu'an to his world of fantasy. Seeing that Lin Yu'an wasn't convinced " at least there should be something right! You're literally a ball of light.. at least there should be a flash! " he argued. Seeing that the system didn't intend on indulging him he gave up and decided to check the now level two system. When he checked he saw that the slots in the system mall with only about 100 items in each slot, increased to 300 which he felt belated seeing.

He checked his points and he saw that he was left with over 8,000 points and the points needed for the next upgrade was 100,000 thousand points. He twitched his eyes and sighed 'really this system is too expensive bah! from 10,000 to 100,000 thousand, what happened to the numbers in between?!' he complained to the system in mind. Lin Yu'an decided to no longer care about the excessive expenses of the system, he just needed to focus on making money and making it big within the norm of his abilities.

And he knew within the norm of his abilities he would achieve the best of everything if he put his heart into it, he received the reward of the newly completed task which was a procedure book of mining and forging stainless steel. He couldn't be more happy since in this dynasty which he transmigrated to, there were no stainless steel and their weapons were surprisingly very blunt. After receiving the procedure book he threw it into the space not having any use for it for the time being, even with the method books for making medicines and weapons he still needed some equipments and machine which were not in the system mall. Thinking that the system gave him the technique books then it'll give him the technology to create them too, he just had to be patient.

Lin Yu'an decided to buy the complete set medical tool box he had been eyeing for days now, with that 5,000 points was gone. The medical tool box had everything a doctor should have which he was happy to say it was worth his 5,000 points. He decided to buy things he needed to have in hands for his convenience. He bought a box of blood group test kit which was 50 sets in a box, a solar blood glucose+blood sugar test, a solar-powered BP monitor, a digital thermometer, a box of face mask and gloves. Relevantly everything he needed in hand as a doctor and wasn't too eye catchy. After he bought a small chest box which very convenient to carry around and a couple of small sized porcelain bottles, since he couldn't present the western medicines in the system mall in to this dynasty in their original containers, he decided to transfer the contents into the porcelain bottles which not eye catching at all.

Although people would be curious and want to know where the contents are from, but it would just be that. After buying all the necessary things his points were depressingly depleted leaving him with about 5,00 points left, he couldn't stand being poor so he exchanged another 10,000 silvers for point. Seeing that he had enough points and silvers to go for now his lips curved up in a satisfied smile. He put away the things he bought into the space leaving only a few necessary tools and stuffs in the chest box.

Lin Yu'an got down from the kang bed and made his way out, Yu ger who was sitting on a chair with the kids playing at his side not far from the door. Turn his head when he heard the creak made by the door as if announcing to him of Lin Yu'an's presence. His eyes met that of Lin Yu'an's as he turned back to see Lin Yu'an standing at the doorway with his majestic demeanor, even just getting of off bed now he looked majestic. With just this in mind Yu ger thought how could the previous Lin Yu'an compare to the current Lin Yu'an, there was too much difference. "come in with Ali'an and Aluo"

Lin Yu'an said as their eyes met and turn back into the room, Yu ger didn't ask any questions or had any doubts. He just helped the twins up and followed behind, was it that he had trust in Lin Yu'an now? He wasn't sure, but what he was assured of was that the Lin Yu'an now would never hurt him. Thinking about that alone had him loose his guard around Lin Yu'an.

When he walk into the room he saw somethings which piqued his curiosity, he stopped being stunned since he knew that the Lin Yu'an now could bring out some novelty things out of nowhere. But he couldn't cease his interests and curiosity in them, he saw what looked like a bucket but at the same time wasn't and the material it was made of wasn't the wooden buckets used in the dynasty. It was something unseen, he just stared at it not intending to ask and Lin Yu'an wasn't intending to explain either.

" Lie down " Lin Yu'an instructed. Yu ger walk to the kang and did as instructed without any ounce of questioning or doubt. Lin Yu'an picked up the journal notebook he bought along with a fountain pen, he opened the first page of the note and jot down Yu ger's name at the top. He took out a stethoscope from the chest box turn to Yu ger and said " I'm going to have to touch your body... i don't mean any harm. I just have to check your body to be able to tell your condition so i need you to relax for me to be able to work.... can you do that for me? " he explained and asked. Yu ger was stunned by his words for only a moment, seeing Lin Yu'an's serious face he nod " e .... en " he swiftly hummed.

Lin Yu'an took the BP monitor and fixed it on his hands and started to pulse, Yu ger was startled by the tingling sensation of it and almost pulled his hand away. Lin Yu'an decisively grab it back gently seeing that Yu ger was frightened "just relax, it won't hurt okay. Think of me as a doctor who's checking your health and the thing on your arm is the doctor's tool... okay" he said in a gentle and soothing voice just as he does to his patient ' mostly children ' but he wouldn't tell Yu ger that! Yu ger listened and nodded. After checking his BP and pulse Lin Yu'an jotted it down and moved on to the next.

"Yu ger I'm going to pull down your shirt a bit and expose a part of your chest... i wouldn't be able to get a good results if I don't do that okay. As i said earlier I'm just a doctor who's doing his best for the wellbeing of my patient, so just relax and keep calm i wouldn't do anything to harm you "Lin Yu'an explained and coaxed again he didn't want to startle him for the second time. Yu ger nodded in understanding, surprisingly he was calm being told that his body would be exposed. But seeing the seriousness of Lin Yu'an and his soothing voice which makes one feel like being hypnotized, Yu ger just relaxed thinking this way that Lin Yu'an was just a doctor right now and nothing more.
