Chapter 53: Reconciliation 2

Nicole was shocked when he drew her in for a hug. He hugged her so tightly that she could barely breathe, but she was happy about it, she wanted it to last an eternity because she felt so safe in his broad arms, she felt so warm and he smelled like rose pedals from the garden of New York.

She felt his muscular arms, his abs and his aura filled every corner of the sitting room, she wanted this and she had always craved for it.

" I am so sorry, I upset you and I promise it is going to be the last time it was ever going to happen " Nicole said with full confidence in herself and Raymond patted her back.

" Yeah, I hope so, I hope you stand by your word " Raymond said.

He did not know what came over him, all he knew was that his heart, mind and soul craved for that body contact, after all she needed it as well as he did, he tried his best as much as he could to avoid any close contact with her the night he brought her to his home, he avoided the fact that his body craved for hers as he cleaned her up a d laid next to her but he wanted to prove his love for her genuinely.

" I will stand by my word " Nicole said as she raised her hands and placed them on Raymond's shoulder as she smiled and immediately Raymond knew that it was a sign and a good in at that as they held themselves tight refusing to let go of one another.

Nicole's phone rang on the chair beside her but she ignored the first and second ring, but in the third ring she let go of Raymond and picked up her phone from the couch and looked at the caller's name on the screen of the phone.

She got so worried when she saw the caller's name and then she did not hesitate to pick up the call as Raymond rested his head on the arm rest of the couch and stared at her.

" Hey, babe are you okay? " Nicole asked. 

" Nicole, I am not " the caller said from the other side of the phone with pain in her voice.

" I do not understand, what do you mean? What happened? What is wrong with you? " Nicole asked at one goal without giving the caller a chance to speak and Raymond watched her as worries replaced his smiling face.

" Nic, I am so exhausted right now and I can not try to speak for a long time " the caller replied.

" There is only one way to solve this, can you come over tonight... I know it is really late but it is urgent, come along with some treatments for treating burns, please ensure to be fast, I would be waiting for you " the caller added as her voice dimmed so low.

" Hey .hey talk to me, what burn, what are you saying " Nicole asked in shock as she looked at Raymond.

" Nicole, if I am really your best friend, please do me a favor by coming over now, it is killing me slowly " the caller said and sighed.
