ENGAGEMENT DAY (3)

When both Esmeralda and Linda left, Linda who is curious about what happened when both Esmeralda and Elias were together earlier, "Sis what took you so long earlier to come after you were done getting dressed." She asked Esmeralda.

"Oh earlier… I was just trying to get Elias to compliment me.'' Esmeralda replied

"And can you believe what happened?"

"No, what is it?'' Linda who is full of curiosity asked.

"What happened, tell me really what happened earlier." She added.

Esmeralda moved Linda more closely to her in other to give her the gist of what had occurredired between her and Elias.

"You see earlier, Elias didn't know how to compliment me because he was been shy… at least, does were what was reflected on his face too that I saw." Esmeralda gave Linda a dose of what had happened earlier.

"But please tell me you didn't believe him," Linda asked.

"Of course, I didn't, not at all but I had to pretend I did," Esmeralda replied honestly to Linda.

"That's more like it… because am sure that earlier is among his tactics, am sure it is one of his many ploys of trying to get you to like him, sis." Linda gave Esmeralda her view about the situation.

"But he really looked very real though…" Esmeralda sadly said to Linda.

Annoyed Linda who couldn't believe what her sister was saying said, "Look sis, it's just like I said earlier, which he is trying to win you over with all that."

"But Linda isn't that what am trying to do, aren't I trying to give myself a chance and fall for him? Since I agreed to give this relationship a chance… so I don't think whatever he did earlier was wrong." Esmeralda honestly said to Linda whose face is full of annoyance after listening to what she said.

"Yes, I know you agree to give this relationship a chance and is also trying little by little to fall for him as well but don't you think he is taking it too far and doing it a little too much?" Linda said to Esmeralda what she really thinks.

"Well, I honestly really don't know what to think anymore." Esmeralda sadly exclaims.

"I mean since you are giving him a chance then, he is supposed to let it happen naturally and at your phase sis."

"Well, you are right though," Esmeralda said.

"Of course, I am, because love is something you can never force at all and it happens naturally on its own bestie," Linda said more to Esmeralda which made her smile.

"You know sis, you have really grown up and is very much mature now," Esmeralda said while smiling at Linda with teary eyes.

Linda whose eye also turned watery and teary after hearing what Esmeralda said replied, "Of course I do!"

"But I was the one who just let you know." Esmeralda firmly said.

"So what if you are? hun?'' Linda said in anger and turned her face sideways away from Esmeralda.

"Okay don't be mad now, I was the first to realize it because am the oldest don't forget."

"So what if you are the oldest hmm?" angry Linda asked.

Esmeralda who knows she has to appease Linda now or she will really stay like this for the whole day, "Don't be mad please, also have you forgotten today is my engagement day? And it will soon be the wedding day which means I will leave this house soon… so please don't be mad and take what I said seriously pretty please!"

"Once am gone, you won't see me all the time anymore you see. Is this how we are going to end our remaining times of always being together hmm sis tell me?" she added while crying.

Linda immediately hugged Esmeralda after hearing what she said, "Of course and don't you even try thinking that you are going to forget me after marrying that Watson boy who I don't even like anymore now because he is going to take you away from me."

"Don't worry, because no one can ever take your place in my heart no matter what," Esmeralda reassured her sister who is crying in her arms.

"Okay? She reassures her.

"Hmmm…'' was Linda's only reply as she continues crying.

Esmeralda allowed Linda to cry in her arms in other to let it all out.

"Don't cry okay sis… because you are going to spoil your makeup," Linda said while letting herself out of Esmeralda's arms.

"You are such a monster you know? How can you tell me not to cry when you yourself are doing it so profusely… hmmm?" Esmeralda said to Linda and she starts crying too.

"Come on now don't cry, am really sorry for starting it, but please don't cry because you are going to spoil your entire makeup, please!'' Linda begs with Esmeralda.

"Alright I won't cry anymore but you aren't allowed to cry either,'' she said to Linda while wiping her tears.

"I won't I promised," Linda promises her.

"That's more like my sister now," Esmeralda said while smiling at Linda.

"Come on let's get going now before Dad starts looking for…"

"There you both are… I finally found the both of you." They both heard Mr. Fernandez's voice.

Both Linda and Esmeralda turn in the direction they heard their father's voice``.

"Dad, you are looking for us?" Linda asked.

"Yes, because I need to introduce you both to some of my business associates before the engagement ceremony begins." Mr. Fernandez replied.

"Oh, alright then let's go…" Esmeralda said.

"Oh yes, Dad, when you reached here?'' Esmeralda asked.

"Me? I just arrived here but what happened?" Mr. Fernandez replied to her question and asked.

"No, don't worry about it…it's nothing."

"hmmm." He hummed in response.

Of course, since he was here from the beginning of their conversation, he knows he has nothing to worry about but only has only one wish and that is for both his two daughters to always stay united and support each other. He is now more assured than ever that even if he is to die today, he has nothing to worry about because both his girls are now fully matured and will always be there for each other and will also always stand for one another no matter what.

Mr. Fernandez smiles at his own thoughts, Dad are you alright?" Linda asked when she noticed him smiling all by himself.

"Am fine dear, am just proud of the both of you and I want you both to continue being each other's shield and always stand by each other no matter what."

"Of course Dad." They both answered him in unison.

After listening and hearing what her father just said, Esmeralda is now very much assured and fully convinced that he overheard their conversation earlier although he said he didn't and pretended to not have heard as well.

She smiled, this old man, he will never change.

"And yes I almost forgot, Edwin and Elizabeth have arrived already with Anna and they are looking for both of you and to congratulate you, Esme." Mr. Fernandez said when he remember one more of his reasons for looking for the two of them.

"Uncle Edwin, Where is he Dad?" Linda euthausically asked her father.

"They are all inside but let me introduce the both of you to some of my business associates first fast before we go and see them." Mr. Fernandez said to the both of them.
