Kissed and Slap

The air at the balcony was more chill than normal, as if mocking Selene for what she was going through. The cold air seeping into her skin, merciless like tiny sharp needles.

Days had passed without any one of the couple uttering a word to the other. Selene's phone buzzed, marking the hundred and twentieth text; she didn't bother to read it. She couldn't understand why Jake couldn't just speak out whatever lies he had.

Selene felt tired of running, she would stay until everything settled down with the funeral and all. The picture of Jake in bed with Jane still imprinted painfully in her mind.

Foster walked to where she stood, noticing the long face that she wore.

"Selene, don't be sad, whatever happened between you and Jake, I'm sure there's an explanation," Foster said as he attempted to comfort her.

They didn't know what had transpired in the penthouse but since then, Selene appeared to be avoiding her husband at all means.
