Almost revealed

Months passed, but Jake didn't hear any news of Selene's whereabouts. He practically lived in his penthouse avoiding going to the mansion. He didn't know what he would do if he saw Lilian again.

Jake had heard that Lilian's been looking for him in his office almost every day, but he couldn't see her. The pregnancy was her only redemption from Jake's wrath. But Jake knew at some point he would have to face her.

"I have to see him today! So get out of my way, you filthy thing!" Jake heard a woman's voice outside his office. How did she get up here? He thought, feeling frustrated. The last thing he wanted was an argument with his stepmom.

"Let her in," he said to his secretary, and opening the door.

"What's the meaning of this, Jackson? Is it because my son doesn't manage the company that I have to be kept out!" Rebecca Lynn his stepmom snapped.

"Don't come shouting in my office, please," Jake said, tired of her drama.
