38 The countdown

It was almost a three-hour flight from Washington DC to Louisiana.

Summer told Gabe all about what happened with her the day before while they were on the plane, he held her hand and listened patiently to what worried her and what made her crack at the end, he was doing so while giving the reins of his reactions to the doctor inside of him.

His sister was not doing well. But he was determined to change that.

"…It was so strange Gaby, I registered most of what was happening around me, I just…I just couldn't get my lips moving… You know?" She peeked at him anxiously but there was nothing that said he was concerned on his face, so she decided it was okay for her to continue, "…And for some parts of it, I think I blacked out," She tried hard to remember the last time she saw the two workers but couldn't. She also found herself in the hospital but didn't understand how she got there. "What's the verdict then?" She said nervously.
